First of all, many thanks to everyone who replies to my question
I quit playing WoW about 3 months ago, and want to get in to an MMO other than WoW. I have also played City of Heroes, Guild Wars and Ragnarok Online. I really enjoyed playing my Rogue in WoW, but I don't want to play WoW again. So my question is, what other current, and future MMO's involve a Rogue class that allows you to be sneaky and very stealthy (invisible) and contain both PvE and PvP elements to it?
Any answers are much appreciated.
Thanks

EQ2-
-4 different rouge classes
-Tons of PvE
-Not to much PvP but not bad either.
-Great graphics
-Great community
Im sure theres a bunch of future MMOs with rouge classes but for right now i think EQ2 has a decent rouge system
Would have to be EQ2. The rogue classes can sneak and backstab etc.
They are also quite effective in PvP situations.
EQII, bah......
Try DAoC.

You see, every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with their surrounding environment, but you humans do not. You spread to an area, and you multiply, and you multiply, until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet.-Mr.Smith
I cannot hear you over the SHUT THE FUCK UP!
I've been looking in to EQ2 and Warhammer Online for when it is released, but will have a smash at the DAoC trial as you advised. I also played the EQ2 trial a while ago, and it would only allow me to play to level 2 or something So that wasn't showing me much.
Thanks for all the replies so far guys Keep 'em coming
There are 3 different rogue classes in chronicles of spellborn: trickster, deadhand and facedancer. Check it out, it may be what you are looking for. I too enjoyed playing my rogue in WoW. Too bad end game is so freaking difficult for rogues.
Oh and its not out yet. Still in closed beta, but it should be finished by the end of this year.
Here's a little cut an paste info on The CHronicles of Spellborn Rogue classes
The Rogue Classes - The Dead Hand
Poisons form the backbone of a Dead Hand's arsenal. Dead Hands have a powerful array of skills which involve their knowledge of poisons, and they are particularly adept at facing a large number of foes. For this reason, they are most often found lending their support to a group of their allies.
By consuming different potions the Dead Hand can use his body to develop a lethal fighting style that can deal a lot of damage with an added damage over time (DoT) component to one or more targets.
The Rogue Classes – The Facedancer
These rogues are masters of changing their shape. The Face Dancer makes for an efficient and deadly assassin, and possesses a variety of melee as well as ranged combat skills. They are also considered the most adept practitioners of the art of stealth.
The skilled Facedancer an excellent shape changer. The Facedancer uses soulgems in his body slots. Soulgems allow him to capture the souls of wildlife, humans or daevi. Once the souls within the soulgems are released, the Facedancer can take on the desired form. When the Facedancer attacks an opponent the shape changing illusion is broken.
The Rogue Classes – The Trickster
A stealthy and nimble combatant, the Trickster makes use of illusions and sleight of hand in order to gain the upper hand. They can also create small devices which enhance their abilities and can be used to confuse and injure opponents. They are also renowned for their speed.
The Trickster skills focus on evasion. Nothing in the game will be harder to hit then a fully developed Trickster. His speed makes up for the little damage he can do.
