Both games are the easiest games to team up with. Anyone who couldn't get into a team consistantly was most likely suffering from really bad reputation.
As to repetition, I have always found these types of games to be repetitive by their very nature. Sure, they needed to add a 100 variations of each map type, but too late for that. I give them full credit for a fun game.
The game is extremly fun but Cryptic just forgot that we are not all little 5 year old kids that love to do the same thing over and over and over.. In short they payed to much attention to the 'fun' factor and not enough to the 'content' factor.

Originally posted by CobaltDeath I saw the game for the first time last week and was hooked. I am playing the 14 day trial until I get the game I ordered (hero vs villain). This game has even peaked the interest of my Wife and Daughter. I have 2 heroes and 2 villians.
Everytime I play my villain I am asked to join a team. See everyone out there. Main players: Hero -TopazShocker Villain - DeathSun
If they really have taken too it then I would highly suggest getting them each an account and you all play together. I have talked to quite a few people who play this game with their families and have a lot of fun doing so. This game also seems to have a higher amount of female players then most others.(The leader of my villain group is female and she can hold her own with any guy.) Most of the stories I hear are that someones GF or wife wanted to play with the costume editor(best in the biz BTW) then they started playing the game and boom they where hooked.

Whoa, what happened to the last few days of posts? I musta blacked out again.
Anyways, CoX is great to just jump in play a couple missions without a huge time committment. And with Inventions, you will have even more to do(hopefully April if we are all lucky...please please please). I'm sure they will still keep the time to play low because that is a postive for many or you wont need to do 'craftig' to play if you have little time. Each Issue more reasons to play.
I like this game a LOT. The fantasy genre just doesn't work for me. I like the flash and the boom, not to mention the MAYHEM MISSIONS!!! Plus I like comparing my character to other villains/heroes (I bet I could kill batman!!!)
I used to play CoH a while back and had not played it for a few years and just started back this weekend with the addition of CoV. To me it seems just as fun as it ever was. Although it is taking me some time to get back in the swing of things.
I'm not gonna get into whether this game is awesome or not but I wanted to say something about the random missions.
Good:
-I like how you don't exactly know what is going to happen. Its nice to actually have to scout things out. After a while Eq-clones like WoW, you have the whole thing memorized.
-I like how you can change things both with difficulty and by running it with a group. The solo experience and group experience is differnt and that is great.
Bad:
It does sort of get repetitive, there really are only a few variations in the maps. The spawn patterns are fairly reliable.
If they could somehow improve that bad point the missions would be pretty awesome. In Wow everything is scripted. Events like the ZG pyramid where you just get tons and tons of stuff coming is great. And the first time you do it there is a rush but aferwards it is just a script. In CoX even if you know an ambush is coming you can't always predict when or where. And that is a great thing.
If they could somehow get the unpredictability without the feeling of repetition they would have something really really great. Not sure how they can do that, generalizing things is always hard and tricky. But its a nice feature of the game that you actually need to stay on the ball rather than just cruise control once its all memorized.
The patches are always adding something new, they always have updates or fixes, there is always someone to team with, you have complete character customization control, there are tons of missions and lots of badges to get.
It does get repetitive but if you can get past all that, I find it much better than WoW. It is easy to level up as well so you can have your travel power by 14 in no time, which makes it easier to get across the maps and avoid either a) the huge zones on the hero side or b
) the large, much higher mobs.
Plus you can see the sky and you aren't surrounded by trees (or mountains) unless you go into Perez park, which can get very confusing.
