Being quite new to this section, i dont know if this has been brought up before.
Anyway, I've read that armor and weapons etc wont affect stats... That makes me wondering about the different possibilities of the endgame. I mean, why would you want to wipe 20+ times on a hard boss if he doesnt even drop something that will make you better? Will there even be raids? And about the quests, what will the rewards be? only exp? That sounds a bit... boring.
I tried CoH before where u dont have armor or weapons and only used your skills and IMO it sucked. hard. The only benefit u get from quests in that game is money, which cant be used for about anything anyway, since no armor/weapons are used. The one with the best build when reaching high lvl wins... Is that how it should be? Shouldnt ppl that invest alot of time get stronger??
Best regards, Chadoo (cya in game ;D )

Hopefully some glowing enchants are in the game too. But what was more important for the ppl in wow, the great look of all sets or the stats? Sure, the stats were really important in wow but with no stats the ppl would still want to get them because they look great.
You can look at it anyway you want. Sure, it's nice to get a new item, improve your char but then again, why would I want to do such a thing? Lets take wow for an example.
I reach level 60 after 10 days playtime. Now I can join a guild and I can play Molten Core. I do molten core over and over again until I get the best items I can have, for what reason? Yeah, so that I can do Molten Core all over again more efficient.
Or you can PVP up till the highest pvp rank and get the best pvp items so you can pvp even better from there.
In my humble opinion that is waste of time since nothing makes a diffrence. The thing with Spellborn is that at the highest level, the onces who play best will win, not the onces that has to much spare time. And the shard conquest between the high houses will make PVP mean something, when you will you've conquered a new part of the world that now belongs to you and now you will have to defend it from incoming attacks, which will make game intressting.
Or if you rather raid ogrimmar, kill thrall and watch him respawn two minutes afterwards like nothing really ever happened its up to you. I for one thinks that the way spellborn is heading is the best way possible.
From my understanding they want to bring out the personal player more so than the character. Meaning the very strength and display of fighting you may of just seen by getting into a fight with that person was straight off his own skills/knowledge, not his stats, gear, critical hit percent.
Furthermore I would say the people that invest a lot of time do get "stronger" in terms of their own knowledge of the game, how to engage situations with different classes, and how to fight. Basing a game straight off the player and nothing else hasn't been done in a long long time in an MMO (since UO). I do believe CoH and Spellborn have completely different playstyles when it comes to mechanics/fighting. You'll find Spellborn to have more of a "first person shooter" feel than your typical RPG. In turn it makes since to put personal skill/knowledge over gear and stats.
What i've read from interviews endgame content is getting armor weapons you can only get endgame. Besides armor and weapons you also get a home with a family that are your characters wich falls under high houses and shards.
Players will be able to fight for their houses in pvp or pve wich actually conquer's pieces of a shard.
