Small groups

Last time I was at this game the "diversification" and AV changes made it almost impossible to do anything solo or in a 2-3 person group.  Has this changed?  Or still the same?

I solo and run in 2-3 hero/villian groups all the time with out issue. And a AV was never ment to be taken out by a single person or a small group. So still no issue, but only yoiu can make the real final decision for your self but trying it out.

Yes this has been changed now in order for an AV to show up you must have 4 or more people in graoup.however u will still want someone that can take alot of dameg cause instead of an AV you will be fasing the same AV NPC as an Elite Boss instead. They are still challanging but alot more managable. I know i have soloed 3 or 4 so far, but i do run a bruter so take it for what its worth. If you can solo a normal boss 1 or 2 lvls higher with no prob then you should be ok depending on the EB your going to be facing.

Excellent.  I don't expect to solo the meanest fellows in the game.  But I do prefer being with one or two people instead of large groups.  Right after ED and a couple other changes small group and solo play was bad.  Sounds like it has gotten better.

It will depend on your build too obviously... i.e. soloing an empathy defender, although possible, is not fun.

I know all about that firsthand...

But yeah, many builds will be able to handle soloing without a problem. I'm currently doing a free trial (I left back in March) and as for small groups I've been doing only that for the past week. I've yet to notice any differences in the gameplay since my last time in the game.

Doing any AV can be tough, can you do it in a small group, Well that is a yes/ no answer.

Yes it can be done. If you know how and are preped and ready and if you have the game set to the right level.

No it can not be done with a small group if you have the difficulty set to Invicible. Even at that level a group of 8 have a tricky time.

To do a small group right set the difficulty level to Heroic and you should be good to go. I know as a Scrapper it can be done solo on this level if you are smart.

The main thing is .... Be ready for a wipe ... AV's are not pushovers and pack a major punch.

Yes everything i have read is true i just wanted to let u know smaller groups are seeming to be more favorable in COX right now and yes setting to invince u better have a good Brute/Tank to be taking the damage of the Elite they may hit a little softer than the AV version but they still have all the same powers and deffences.and read up on which one you are going to fighting cause i got waxed 3 times in a row by an EB that dealt only psyonic damage so if that is what you will be facing grab an DA or stone brute. For tanks i guess stone will be your only option but i thin Ice armor aslso grants def to psyonic.

I solo 90% of my toons on Rugged or better...I have no idea what the OP is refering to, other than SV's and monsters being super hard for a month or so...that is gone now tho.
