Experiences with ASherons Call 1

If Asherons Call 1 was remade with upgraded graphics but same engine. New content and resold as AC 3 would u play it?
I want everyone to place their experiences whether good or bad about AC on here. I for one loved AC. It was my 2nd mmo and so far the best for me. I loved the absolute freedom of the character. I felt like I had full control like when I jumped I really jumped or moved it flowed. The pvp was absolutely the best. Ranged, Melee, and Magic pvp was well balanced for the most part.  You could dodge arrows and missles if you were fast enough.

I enjoyed the PvE server for the community but the Blood and Alberon Mindeater Period were the best time in Darktide pvp server.

I liked AC1 although it could become a little tedious at times, especially as a battle mage and all the buffing. One thing I noticed AC1 and AC2 had that I haven't seen in any other MMO that's cool is the patron/vassal relationship. It's cool having your own mentor when you are trying to learn. Plus the mentor gets rewarded with passed up xp. I'm surprised other MMO's haven't followed suit.

So you better believe I'd play an AC3 if modeled after AC1. AC1 is a sophisticated hybrid sandbox/linear game that has a lot of options where a player can become stronger using xp even after reaching max lvl. I am really surprised AC wasn't more popular than it was. I blame Microsoft.

Edit: I remember the Lugian Citadel. That was challenging and fun. Also Tusker Island was a blast.

AC 1 is my home and I'll subscribe till they pull the plug. I do take lil vacations and try other games- but nothing holds my attention the way AC has for 3+ years. Plus the people are just a tightknit community- they are very different than the people that play other MMO's. The people I play with have been in the game 5-7 years!! Loyalty like that is a rare thing.

I would try AC3 if they ever did it but I don't like seeing sequel numbers in titles!  I'm planning on trying LOTR and I'm hoping that it's on par with AC's quality (not graphics wise- I mean overall quality):)

I really enjoyed AC1. I havent played another game that could match it for monthly events and content updates. However I seriously doubt that we will see another product carry the Asherons Call name after the AC2 fiasco.

I liked AC1, but not so much for the mechanics.  I liked how big and detailed the world was, how immersive the towns were, how there always seemed to be more to explore.  It had so much content in the form of quests, lore, places, and interesting craftables.

But the mechanics were a little limiting.  I don't like level based systems, although at least it had skills instead of classes.  I also recall there were some pretty serious balance issues, with only a a few weapon skills being worth anything.

Really, I liked the graphics.  The fact that they're outdated doesn't bother me.  I would settle for a redesigned rebalanced character advancement system and more content.
