Project A3 - A Huge Hit in China

There is a report from the official representative of ACTOZSOFT that this game attracted 150k concurrent users in the FIRST DAY of open beta in China.

I've never heard of anything like this even with the standard set by Lineage 2 !!!!

Note that 150k is NOT the number of total subscribers for this game but number of concurrent users participated in the open beta on the first date !!!!!

We all know that it took about 2 or 3 years for EQ to gather around 500k subscribers (not concurrent # of users)..... but this number ??? I have no idea what to make of this.....

It's just mind boggling.

    There's a reason that many governments look past China's alleged civil rights abuses:

    5,000,000,000 potential customers.

    Is this merely a reflection of their insanely huge population size or is their something I am missing about this game that would have people so excited? I don't see anything special personally...

    Theres 6 billion people in the world, not china.

    Western views on china are jaded and usually horridly incorrect. Most people still refer to them as red china which is badly misinforming. Communistic, evil, murderous, usually people say things such as those about china.

    ? curious about human rights abuses.. the US has a larger % of it's population in prison and executes a way larger #. The US was even removed from the UN human rights committee, and is well known for it's ongoing land mines support / sale. In fact much of the $ the US makes is from it's sale of weapons to other countries.
    AO had near 200k in it's fiasco open beta. Think SWG had near 100k.

    EDIT: over 80% of the US population in prison are drug related, making the prison business the #1 industry in the US.

    It is so ironic whenever someone start talking about China, N. Korea, etc.... The topic goes a stride and becomes CNN's Capital Gang or Lou Dobb's moneyline chat.....

    We live in global community now, and guys it becomes most apparent when you play game genre like MMORPG. I've played with French, Chinese, German, Korean, Japanese, American, Canadian, yugoslavian, Brasilean, etc.  Everyone has their own view on the current state of the politics. Lets just not impose one's view on others, it is very unpleasant thing. I gave up on this long times ago.

    Let's just stay on topic. Hell this thread wasn't even meant to be discussion thread.
