The game you always come back to

It may not be the best game in the world, but it's home. What is it for you?

For me, it's Ragnarok Online. Second MMO I ever played; I've had great times with friends there. The world is just so loaded with memories for me that I can't let it go, no matter what other MMO I may visit.

WoW.  I keep saying there's gotta be something better out there, but there isn't right at this moment in time.  Well I lied, there are, but nothing accesible for a noob.

I guess, none, I always play games for a while, then when I'm done with it, single players are always easy in the games I play. If I'm done with SP, then I go play some Multiplayer, if it's possible, then I move on to the next game, and than like 6 months later, I grab the game out of my chest again, and maybe play it again.

All of my consoles. I've got a nice collection and a number of games that I've yet to beat, and even some I've yet to play. So I always have something to turn to if my gaming fix isn't being met in MMO-Land.

For me, I come back to Dark Age of Camelot (my first MMORPG).  The three-way, Realm vs. Realm combat amongst the Albions, Hibernians, and Midgardians is excellent (even though Hibernia still has the castle/keep taking advantage).

Lineage 2, World of Warcraft, and Runescape. I now stop going back to Runescape, but still thinking about going back to Lineave 2 for some reason.

    Resub count:

Anarchy Online: 4 (will resub again when next exp is released)
Ultima Online: 4 (definitely going to resub before UO Reborn is released)
EverQuest: 4 (may give it another shot...probably not)
A Tale in the Desert: 3 (always an old favorite, but has to fit a certain mood)
EVE Online: 3 (still playing it)
World of Warcraft: 2 (may give it another shot if it has something decent to offer in future expansions)

Used to be Runescape, but I've stopped now. Currently it's probably Second Life.

CS:Source is always good when I need a break from RPG'ing and need some insta-action with some good gameplay and atmosphere.

The game that draws me back the most is Lineage, but for what it was, not what it is. i thought the game was at its best at episodes 7 or 8. I'll play for a bit, and talk to any friends that still play, but thats about it.

SWG is the same, but just to a smaller degree, except of course, no one I knew actully still plays. Huge buddy list and I've never seen 1 log on when I've been there.

Sadly there isnt a single MMO that has that effect on me.

Though i do have about 8 old computer games on 5 1/4 disks that i still turn on my old machines to play.

Covert Action- a classic to me without peer.

Harpoon- Another i still have and play the original of.

    F-19 Stealth fighter -another

    Carrier Strike- another

    Midwinter-another

    etc...

In years to come i will add sr2010 to that list. But its still too young for it now.

Ultima Online...even tough the game mechanics are screwed now, just logging in and riding around on my trusty, 7 years old lamamakes me always feel all warm and fuzzy

SWG for me.  It was my first MMO and I think the concept behind it's mechanics at release are still the best out there.

SWG had it all - interesting gameplay, colorful community, decent player driven economy, and an awesome pvp element be it  going Overt or better yet engaging in PA wars.

I'm probably biased because SWG was my first MMO but the times I had there are much better then anything I've experienced anywhere else.

I still check out SWG when they have a free trial period to see where it's heading unfortunetly the new game experiences dont hold a match to the old ones for me.

I also like to go back to EVE thinking that maybe since I'm more "mature"  I'll actually like the game  but I've still got too much FPS in my blood for that game =/

    ==========
SWG - 1st Gen MBH (Closed)
    EVE (Closed)
WoW (61 Orc Hunter - Blackwing Lair)
    GuildWars (Boring...)

My good old standby is Ultima Online. I played that thing for over nine years and although I haven't played regularly in a long time, it always feels like 'home' when I go back to it. So many memories made long ago . . . *daydreams*

bf2 for me. I can hop on and play for just 30 minutes, don't need to prep anything, run any quests, or fix any armor.

City of Heroes/Villains. Something about that game always feels like home no matter where I go between subs.

    Battleground Europe: WW2 Online

Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy - Movie Battles 2 Mod

EVE Online - I can hop on make some ISK, fly around zapping stuff, sell some manufactured goods, mine some ore and train a skill. It's not all that exciting at times but at least no 6 hour raids or being ganked if I dont want to PvP at the moment.

    Pre-2003 it was EQ.

    Since 2003 it is CoH/CoV.

Usually you find something annoying you a lot (raiding enforcement for example) or get to a point where you did everything you enjoy in the game and are a little bored (CoV).  Anyway, after sometimes away, trying a few things out, you always come back.

CoV is really that great, my only real critic would be to have more....more...and more.  Of course I can pinpoint to many aspects.  But since ED, they learn, they didn't nerf me anymore...so it is a LOT better...now I just want MORE!  MORE!  MORE!  I know, the folks at Cryptics must be finding quite hard, the pressure and everything...

I am happy to be part of the CoV-fanboi club.  However I am not blind.  I am not afraid to say that the accolades are a mistake in their current form...however...I will admit...that myself I like the accolades and will get them...all of them...but that is me.  Even if I like a mistake, I can understand it is a mistake in the current form and should be reworked in another way.  Until it is reworked, I will abide by my sins in just take pleasure in the accolades, as they are, until they think of a better way to rework that...and saddly, I don't think I am part of the solution about the accolades, so listening to me about the accolade would be as wise as listening to Afterlife about raiding...something you don't want to do!
