SWG I NEED HELP!!!!!

in Star Wars Galaxies
Ok, I have SWG and have had it for 1 year and cant find out how to gat to the character select screen. This is really dumb of me to ask but this is the only place i could ask. so before you say it yes im a retard

    Are you talking about from in game?  Press Shift + ESC and click Return to Character select screen.

    No, im not talking about in the game, at the station screen there is a nav bar at the top that says "CHARECTER SELECT UNAVAILIBLE" the game i know how to i read the booklet but i havnt played the game yet and want to so thanks but thats not what im talking about

    Have you clicked the Play button yet?  If you've only recently installed the game you characters won't show in the drop down menu on Launchpad until you do click play and connect to the server.

    ther is no play button on the station screen. there is thogh an "Update" button that i havnt clicked i installed the game a years ago but havent played it yet im wondering if i have to select this and update the games players or does it do it atomaticlly when you log in

    If it has an Update button then it's working on downloading updates for the game, once it's done it'll change to a Play button.  It'll do it automatically, no need to click anything, just leave it running for a while :)

    Ok, next question, if i dont click on any thing and just leave it, and i have DSL conection than is it normal to have it say the estimated time is 138:39:42 for the time or is that normal?

    Depends what disks you used to install from and how fast your connection is.  If it's the original set of disks, then it's gonna take a while since you have around 2gb or more of stuff to download.  The time will fluctuate a bit as it runs.

    Thanks. I have "THE TOTAL EXPERIANCE" so i dont think its that but my connection i just realized is very slow (for DSL)

    Are you trying to launch the game from an internet browser window?
