Design team welcomes back Leurocian
The design team seems to be getting bigger all the time. In fact, just this week a familiar face took up residence in UO dev team bullpen, Patrick "Leurocian" Malott. Along with design lead Nick "DragonHead" Corea, senior designer Tim "MrTact" Keating, invasion architect Tim "Draconi" Cotten and builder of worlds Mike "Czarzane" Flinchum, this band of merry men are busy designing Ultima Online: Kingdom Reborn and adding to each and every live publish. And theres more to come! Two more designers are on the way to help with the slate of projects we have planned. If you listen close, you can almost hear the hum of all those imaginations at work.
Live events about to get more serious
If youve been following the Live Event series, youve probably helped fight off an invasion, discovered mysterious pieces of black rock, and discovered Inu the Crones secret. As we move closer to the launch of Kingdom Reborn, more serious events will begin to occur, and small occurrences will begin ripples that will eventually grow to tidal waves. The world is soon to change forever, and it will be the citizens of Britannia who bring about a new age. To keep up to date on the in-game events, check out www.uo.com every Friday evening.
From The Pen of Darkscribe
There has never been a more exciting time to work on UO. Maybe back in 1997, when we were about to launch the game that would launch a genre, there might have been the sense of excitement and discovery were feeling now. Every day we get see new portions of Sosaria come to life with new detail and color. Monsters weve known for years suddenly have new personality and texture. Just moments ago, I was in a partially finished Castle British. Even though half of the décor and detail was missing, it was still very much Castle British. I must admit, I got a little misty eyed.
We cant wait for you to walk up those steps for the first time and see the new world for yourself.
- Aaron "Darkscribe" Cohen, UO Producer
Shard of the Dead Soon To Rise From the Grave
As busy as busy as the dev team is, there is one project that they are literally dying to bring to you. The dreaded Shard of the Dead will be returning later this month. Prepare yourselves.

As for the screen shots...Thought they didn't look that great, but who am I to complain? Any upgrade would be nice I suppose. But I will say, the new engine is looking good, just not as good as the first three screenshots we've seen
Total time played: 9125 Days, 21 Hours, 29 Minutes, 27 Seconds
Time played this level: 39 Days, 1 Hour, 24 Minutes, 5 Seconds
Forgive my ignorance. I haven't played UO in ages. What exactly is the shard of the dead? If it's a new production shard I'd be very tempted to play.
ROFL... UO 3d graphics FTL
in all seriousness the first 3 Screenshots were much better looking

I can't believe people accept this stuff from 'em. I understand that any update is a good update at this point, but they aren't doing anything other than another freakin' tile job!! This is not 3D, no matter how much they want people to believe it, and mundane repaints are one of the reasons why they can't get new players. Either actually remake the freakin' game (but don't throw it away this time) or don't insult people's intelligence with this BS. Maybe if a company with some balls took over, but no. EA wouldn't sell just because it would make their customers too happy and God knows they don't want that!! Richard Garriott FTW!!! Enjoy the new paint job, guys. It's all EA will ever do for this game.
