Why don't you try the free trial to find out for yourself?
Obviously those of us who play the game find it 'good' or we wouldn't be spending or bucks on it. But no one can tell you what your taste and expectations are.
Not really... we're only telling others about how much fun we have with it to lure them into paying for us... Wait... wrong Forums, that's for Dark&Light. Darn.. now I'll be sued by NP³ for revealing their marketing machine....
Just take a look, starter island is free.

I loved this game Thinking of coming back actually, mostly left because I was playing this primarily with my boyfriend, but we got too far apart in skill levels and the exp system kind of hurt us when that happened - making the duo somewhat difficult. Still thinking of coming back, though ... ^^
Gaming? That's not gaming! That's just people sat 'round in costumes drinking...

That's the beauty of the skill system, they could switch to a lower skill and you could still work together.
Seams as if this game is highly ranked, cant seam to figure out way though. I started playing this in the first beta. PLayed for about a year and got bored whit it, becouse nothing of what they promised was ever implemented. Signed up for it again a month ago and couldnt find a group to hunt monsters. Not even for a full week! That says to me, this game is still no good... but the comunity is really nice. So if you like chatting around, but not kill anything... I gess its ok
Yeahhhh but, it kinda got to me after a while, because there were skills I wanted to raise, and I got irritated doing say...Defensive Affliction ...while he poked at the mobs with his sword because thats what he wanted to raise... next thing I knew I had all these skills at 100 and we'd been killing killing killing and I didn't feel like I'd advanced overly much. It was nice when we would be in a larger team, had a very nice guild I think, I really liked them ....and they would all use skills higher than ours so it didn't matter, we could level what we wanted to ...but when it was just the two of us, it became pretty cumbersome. Being that almost evverrryone we met in Ryzom when we played was European, and the times we played -- well eventually my boyfriend quit playing, and I was just digging all the time :P So ><
But I REALLY liked this game, so much taht I still haven't uninstalled it from my pc or my laptop. *twitch* so you may be seeing me again hehe.
EDIT : Bah I'm bad at making 'quote' work.

There's more yanks now, not that I'm convinced that's a good thing
I've never felt that much pressure to level in any case. Sounds to me more like a problem with the boyfriend than the game

nah, it's rubbish.
I use being born in the UK as an excuse for my sarcastic sense of humour
