I played this until they raised the price.  Still talking about going back to it.  Nothing else has comapred.  I can still hear the portal sound when I close my eyes, and it makes me remember the first time I logged into the game.

See, that's the key.  No matter how many times I hit that portal, it was like the first time.  I can still feel the excitement that I felt that first day.  Jumping into a place that was new and unknown.  Landing in the Rithwic Starter area.

I think of all the people I met there, and how we still email each other even now; many years later.  I think of discovering a new land everytime I went out for three years.  That was the beauty.  You could run.  With the exception of the Islands, you could run just about anywhere.  You really didn't need the portals unless you were in a hurry.  There were no loading periods between "zones".  Seamless. 

If you wanted to see people, you could run to towns.  Didn't want to see anyone?  Run into the wilderness.  You could run for hours and not see a soul.  Until they brought in the housing.  We all wanted it, but it changed the game when they brought the housing in.  Especially the mansions.  The towns became ghost towns. 

Anyone ever get zapped by a portal storm?  You could be sent anywhere.  That was spooky.  There are so many good things about this game.  The graphics really are secondary.  They could lower it back to 10 a month though.  Then it would be a bargain.  You may see me on Thistledown again someday.  Assuming it is still there.  Some of us miss it like you would miss an amputated arm.

How long have you been gone from AC?

It is 3-4 years ago you got zapped by a portal storms in towns, I remember that. hehe. and I remember when the copper statues came alive and killed us all. lol....I think I was level 20.

Oct. patch is Halloween, ppl hanging out in Glenden Wood, there is Halloween festival in GW.

i remember back in early release...when i was 17 and regarded as a high level.....pheer that.....lol....ac was such a great beautiful game. I dont think anything will ever really compare to it....it just wont be replicated unless turbine is willing to do it...and they arent because they are trying to develop other failures...

I wish they would open source it purely b/c i have friends that want to play but dont want to pay for an online game that not enough people play anymore (and i dont care what you say...not enough people play)
