I am a regular poster and reader of Potbs forums and let me tell ya they should charge for that game. The Devs have gone above and beyond what any other dev team has ever done that I have seen. That actully listen to what the comunity has to say, they interact with us almost on a daily basis and I am not just talking about just subject pertainting to the game just about random stuff as well. The people over at FLS have put there hearts and souls into that game. So complaning that it should be free is almost an insult to their hard work. ( I am not saying anyone was complaining or insulting them)
Now my opions on F2P Vs. P2P. F2P is good in theroy but when it is put into action it fails with the lack of care by the devs by not updateing or adding new content, the only F2P game that I have seen come out with new things wad Guild Wars (I stoped playing 2 days after buying the first game,) but from what I understand they two other games are really not even expansion packs. So if a company could come out with a f2p game the had regular update and new content then yes it could work. I am sorry I did not talk about the games where you buff stuff with real money I dont know much about them.
Now with P2P I prefer these games for some reason the game just feels "bigger" when you log in for the first time. There always seems to be more things to do within the game other then just doing mission after mission Heck I rember when I was playing WOW I found my self just siting on the side of the road witha few freinds chating for like two hours. I have never seen that in a f2p now I am not saying it dose not happen.
So I guess P2P or F2P is going to be the huge never ending debate among MMORPG gammers, and more then likely it will end up like the other age old debate Pirates Vs. Ninjas.
I went into so much research into this game for a few months and then I found out it was going to be a P2P game. Don't you all agree that paying should be optional?
No. I prefer pay to play. Keeps down the annoying kiddies, ensures active GM's, consistant updates, and fairly good expansions released in a reasonable amount of time.
I've tried a number of F2P games as well (Silk Road Online, Maple Story, Dufus, etc) and while they are fun for a bit. It's usually only a few days or a week. There just isn't enough content to keep anyone going for any long-term period of time.
I suppose if you found 7-10 of these F2P games and just kept going back and forth between them all - you might be able to keep busy, but then would you be having fun?
I always seem to go back to the P2P MMO's. In the end, they are just better.

Which Final Fantasy Character Are You?
Final Fantasy

IMHO, that's just comical. Some of us are happy to pay for a quality product.
When I want a single-player story, I'll play a single-player game. When I play an MMO, I want a massively multiplayer world.
