So i started to play the game today, and so far its great....i didnt get to choose my server = so im stuck in Valefor only problem i have is that i cant find any americans...theyre all JP.. =/ but im not sure if its the server or what but anyway....i was wondering if anyone new a good place to start grinding or something. i also have a question about the Empress ring, do you have to buy a new one everyimte the 180 mins wears off? or just unequip it then equip it back?

You didnt state which nation you are so we cant tell you where to grind without it.

There are certain times that the americans are on and certain times the JP are on. yesturday all the servers seemed to be full of JP but JP people are the best in partys. they are selfless and constantly do their job (heal, tank etc)

but if you want a friend with someone that is constantly on FFXI then email michaelpaul(at)pol.com and then I will send you my world pass for a new character. I will PL you up to level 10 easily so dont worry

The empress ring you can equip but that does nothing. You go to items then "use" it on yourself then you get a status message for the 180 mintutes. then when that is up (you get 7 uses of the ring) you have to wait 16 hours before it is recharged

some advice to you mate, restart on another server. Valefor is a ghost town, i was orginally from Val but at lvl 65, they let me migrate to remora, best move i ever made in the game.

the no newbies thing is kinda true. people are joining Fenrir more and more now so that doesnt really matter, but the usual training spots are always populated with the nicest people and the economy is actually very good

Its prolly just the timezone you play, Early morning (Like 3am-6am) Is JP prime time, and late at night is when most start signing on. If you play from 10am - 8pm its a very rare occurance to find anyone who doesn't speak english.
