The site isn't down.
There is a node down keeping you from accessing eve-online.com and many other sites.
I have no trouble accessing it, but the forums on eve-online are dead and people here were complaining.

Bleh this is definitely NOT an internet issue. Something odd is going on. I can traceroute to the www.eve-online.com address w/o any issues, packet loss or anything. But the website will NOT come up.
Which is getting irritating because I want to open a 2nd account (for my brother) and can't.

What ever has brought down the website has also killed "evemon" updating in its steps. Guess I'm back to timing skills with an ink pen, sticky notes and counting on fingers today....

I heard from another website that a major webhosting ISP service was under heavy Denial of Service attacks yesterday and today. It's possible that EVE and its services are also hosted on this same ISP.
LOOK! The Website is NOT Down. Not once since you guys started posting have I gone to the website and it's been down.
There is something wrong with some node somewhere. It's not EVE Online. You guys aren't the only ones, the forums are dead as hell too.

Hi guys,
I'm posting here on behalf of two in-game friends who are having problems with accessing the EVE web site.
The first guy is in Norway: he can ping the web site (87.237.39.200), but any attempt to load any of the web site results in a 404 error page. This started happening for him on Tuesday (two days ago).
The second guy is in Austria: he can also ping and perform a traceroute (without errors) to the EVE web site, but any page requests result in a timeout for him. This started happening for him yesterday (Wednesday).
Is this a recent problem, and is there any timeframe for a diagnosis and fix?
Fortunately, they can both still log into the game, so it's not all bad

i can log on the game nps , but the site is unaccessable for me .(What Ever Be The Problem Ok?)
Ah well. At least the skills are still training.
1) I know the damn site isn't down. Members of my Corp living in London are able to hit it just fine.
2) The site is, for some reason, not responding to tons of users. Effectively for those people the site is down.
I personally cannot get to the website. This is annoying as hell because I was trying to get an account code for my brother's birthday as well as trying to activate a 2nd account for myself. Since the website is down (for me and others) I cannot do that. Thus it's costing CCP money (to the tune of $39 US at least) and anyone who uses GTC's to pay their monthly bills is in trouble as well because if they can't get to the site they can't renew their time. I already know 2 people in this situation who's game time expires *tomorrow* and they can't get into the site to put in their CTC
So it really doesn't matter if the site is up "for some people". If you can't get to the site, through no fault of your own, then the site is "down". Doesn't matter that it's a node on the internet. But I find that hard to believe because if a node was "down" a traceroute from me wouldn't reach EVE and it does. I have 92MS round-trip time to the webserver. I just can't get a page to come back.
Still could be something along the way but it's most likely something in their local, or immediate ISP, network. Because I can hit their router all day long.

Um well for me and others the website is down.
Soooooo.....what do we do?
One funny thing though:
the site opens just fine on my wifes computer at home (we're using the same DSL modem on two diff. computers)
and a friend of mine living in the same town than me has no problems reaching eve-online.com neither...
Me dont understand, me try, but me dont understand, argggHHHHHhhh!
I have asked the tech support and they said, that there is a problem with one router,
the side should be reachable again after downtime tomorrow
