That is if it ever does get released.

If you're a rabid LOTR fan you might like it.  Most of the asswipes on the forums appear to be so.  They quote from the books anytime someone posts suggestions of what they like to see and shoot them down because it doesn't fit lore.

Its unfortunate because if developers listen to these imbeciles they'll be digging themselves an early grave.  This game doesn't compare to World of Warcraft, I'd venture to say early WOW beta looked better and had more content then this and they're already talking about open beta.  Although it makes a feeble attempt to, even copying directly from WOW from what I'm told.

The so called Monster Play is in theory only.  It isn't even in testing phase yet.  So don't get your hopes up, and for them to say the game will have pvp is a weak attempt to lure pvp minded people.  The game won't have it.

It appears to have attracted a large quantity of former SWG players, another soon to be dead game.  Eventually this game will be released with little fanfare and fade to obscurity quite fast along with memorable Shadowbane.

I'm not too impressed either, but I don't know if it will be worse than WoW in the sense of content.  Visually it doesn't compare to WoW, but let's face it, graphics is all WoW has.

This game has potential still, I wouldn't count it out yet, but I wouldn't hype it either.

Go serch up what beta means and what beta is for, newb. I'm no fanboi but you are full of crap and you have no idea what you are talking about.

Every time I read your post, I die a little inside...

I Agree... the kids dont know what they are talking about, LOTRO is still in beta, you compare a 3 years old game with a beta product. LOL, the beta product look better then wow.

Bahut, clearly your point is made by Turdenskjold.  image

This is the 3rd gen for MMORPGs.  WAR, DF, VSoH, AoC are all doing good jobs as far as beta/development but LOTRO has been putting out crap.  Sorry I don't love your game, fanbois, but I'm searching for more content than what LOTRO offers.  Probably DF for me because it resembles UO '97 the mostimage.  Don't hate us because LOTRO is looking kinda lame at this point.  Go back to reading your LOTR books lol.

You gotta be kidding, WoW has the most cartoony graphics on the market, I honestly cant find any good looking thing about WoW, but I thats just my oppinion. To me LOTRO looks light years better.

I never thought the problem would be graphics, and compating ANYTHING to the retarded "EQ on training wheels" that is WoW is stupid.

But the problem IS that Turbine has no clue about gameplay and content and they prove it time and time again...

AC2: Lets skip the vendors and make no shop so everyone HAS to craft even if they arn't interested in it! (which means many low levels just stood around forges picking up "failed" craftings from higher level players cause there was NO economy) Oh and lets make combat suck

    DDO: Content, what content?

When I heard Turbine was the dev I wept

Work on your reading comprehension.  I compared it to early WOW beta, and it doesn't compare to the game even then.

    Few other issues;

    1.  Roleplayers

They're talking about enforcing roleplaying on the servers.  to each their own but its not for me.

    2.  Anything not in the books won't be in the game.

Great marketting move there...  competitors provide something usually MMORPG's move to match them with a similar feature.  These guys.  NOPE not in the books we're not doing it.  Don't want to make Lore mongers cry.

    3.  No pvp

Monster play, theory only at this stage not even tested.  Advertising for something that isn't even being worked on in beta... um ok.

    4.  Moderators on the forums

They ban anyone who posts something that can even remotely be interpretted as an insult.  They have these kids who spam report people jsut for disagreeing with.  You could say "no" to someone and they'd report you and the mods ban you.  This guy called someone a "carebear" and he got banned.

    1. No, they dont.
    2. Depends on what you mean, there wont be any 100000 wizards running arounds and no laserbeams. And yes lore is pretty important for this game.
    3. Sounds like a fun system to me.
    4. How about being civil once and again, and nobody has been banned for saying carebear (even though that can be seen as an insult). Its more likely he said carebear among other things and baiting people.

Just the way I see it.

    1. That's not true. They haven't said anything like that, ever. They may support roleplaying, but they don't force people to roleplay.

    2. That isn't true either. Where did you get that? Go to this page and have a look. Aurochs, Bog-lurkers, Rogmul, Dark-Water, Gorthorog, where those ever mentioned in the books? No, they wern't.

The only thing they do is trying to stick as close to the books as possible. And what's wrong with that? Otherwise, there wouldn't be any point for a LotR game.

    3. Why do you assume that it won't happen? Don't say things such as these until you know it's true. We know that the Monster Play exists. I don't know if it has been implemented in the beta yet, but it probably will be soon enough.

You say it isn't even being worked on. Read this. Do you think this is written out of nothing? I don't think so.

    4. Both you and I know that isn't true. They ban people when it's necessary. If saying no to someone is the same thing as insulting or flaming someone, then what you say would be true.

    1. I've been on the forums for months and you're wrong. They've never once said they will enforce RP.

    2. Good move as far as I'm concerned. Even though you're wrong.

    3. So? Alot of games advertise for things. So what, it's untested to the public (yet because it's still in beta and you don't know if it's been tested or not). That's common too. Don't say it'll suck until you've tried it.

    4. As for the forum moderators... are you nuts? I'm nasty and I've gotten into some terrible fights on there. For months. I've only been banned once. If you got banned, you must have been saying something REALLY nasty because you can get away with it for a very long time. You're full of it. You got punished and you don't like the fact you were. Oh... and carebear... that's an insult thats been thrown around the forum for months on end. If you said that, you got banned for something alot worse than just that.

    1. true
    2. true
    3. true
    4. Very true lol :P

I think that's all that needs to be said, I didn't feel like typing out a whole big thing like the many people before when I could just simply agree with them. Either way, in every point that you made, bahut, you are wrong, face it.

I read the article in computer magizine about monster play and the devs stated that monster play is in internal testing and not ready for beta yet. There is still 4 months left to beta at least and plenty of time to implement it in beta and get it tested.

I have never in the 3 years i have been watching this game heard them say there would be a rp inforced server. It is still beyond be why people who don't like a game feel it is their sole purpose in life to bash said game. They spout untruths that they pull out of the air to try to make the game look bad. When all it really does is make them look foolish when all a person has to do is spend a little time on the official forums to see that they are wrong.

Try this for a change. If you don't like a game just say this game is not for me and move on. If you do not plan on playing the game your bashing is senseless. If you plan on playing it then your opinion has some merit.

This guy's method of arguing isn't even effective. He just takes a few
features that are different from other games, and says that the whole
game will be poor because of them. He's cherry picking. He's just
focusing on a few things that might not turn out great, or that other
games have, and leaving out all the good stuff. Totally unbalanced and
    ineffective argument.

Awwww did I hurt your little feelings ? here have a hanky.

Never quite seen a game attacked as hard as this one right before. This one has obviously got some of the devs and fans of other games messing in their depends. GO ahead and make all the hate posts you want, all you might do is stop a few from pre ordering. Come February this game might not kill WoW and EQII but it definitely going to  put a hurt on their subscription. So I repeat if you are WoW/Vanguard/EQII fanbois be very very worried because the new boys called  LoTRO and Warhammer are coming to MMO town LOL

Oh, he didn't even do that. Nothing of what he said against this game was even true. It was only things he had come up with to say things against the game.

turdbine has always been big on promises, but rarely delivers.  If they do manage to implement it into the game it will be halfassed, and months late.  When dealing with turdbine its best not to expect much so you won’t be disappointed.

ONly time will tell.  I'm skeptical too, but the devs are trying to make a Midlle-Earth experience, and so far, I'm impressed.  My skepticism is centreed around wondering if they can make the game fun, while reproducing Tolkien's work.

LoTRO is going to follow in the footsteps of DDO, because of turdbine.  When LoTHO flops, and it will that collection of fools that is turdbine will go under, and I say good riddance.

The western gamers are going to eat this one up, maybe the eastern gamers also, but the western ones for sure. I would bet they break 1 million subs by May of next year if they release in Feb. Maybe sooner than that if they do a couple of open beta stress test like WoW did. I am just going by what they showed publicly at E3 and PAX this year. If the monster play turns out to be as good as the PvM they have shown already, the sky will the limit.
