Pre CATA and TOA days

DowieDowie Member Posts: 280
Hey all, i've just ran into an old friend of mine from daoc irl. And we got to speak about the old days of daoc. When there where no CATA or TOA, damn i miss these days. So many memories, especially i miss the old DIA farming groups :)

Whats your best memory from pre-TOA?

this might sound slightly sad but it was back when archers were more or less godly and could be absolutely insane damage like hitting 80% off a dwarven healer (like me!) in one shot and then stealth with impunity.

I was that healer, in a forest on my own with a scout hunting me. my heart raced, my little shield blocked too of his arrows and I got away.. somehow. Ace memory and it wasnt even about winning image

Before TOA I remember daoc as my second life.

I was out hunting with my warrior with some friends all the days.

then TOA arrive and I cant for my life understand what atlantis got to do with Midgard, Albion, ..

The game was like flying of the org idea.

Now days when logging into cata my warrior looks fat and ugly how I set the face settings ::::16::

hmm, i have a few... wandering through lyonesse with all these giant telamon staring down at my little minstrel...
joining a pygmy gobbo group and coming up with an inventive way to out-pull the cabby trying to steal our spot (I started charming the gobbo in the very middle, got the whole lot after me, and the sorc mezzed. worked damn well)
exploring the new si areas with a load of guild mates, finding a load of fish-lizards (to this day, i have no idea where we found the buggers) pulling a huge amount of them, and somehow winning...
probably my fondest memory though, was when I had just re-formed the guild i used to be an officer in, numbers had got low so we'd merged with another, but a few of us didn't take so we got the old guild back. best moment was the first time we took control of a keep in the frontiers since re-forming. never felt so proud as then to get the guild back from nothing to doing that.
