Except that only NA is closed, and I doubt its against the rules considering there are taiwanese, chinese, and koreans, most likely millions in fact, playing their open beta's. I'd give you my taiwanese open beta account, but, for some reason i cant log in anymore, I connect to a server and it disconnects.

Taiwanese Server started to block IP originated from foreign countries just like Korean server did.

You can still go by proxy.

I was in the 1 "foreign" beta, and I can tell you this game is nothing, sorry, but it's got nothing new/improved but a graphics upgrade (very nice, pretty pictures yes, but thats it). The game play is pretty bad... It's got major "grind" at even the low levels, the chat system isn't very good, so grouping isn't easy. There's really nothing at all of interest in it. There're much better possibilities coming out in the future for those who are into the whole PvP thing, look at "Dark&Light" and  "Darkfall" for instance.

speak for urself, Lineage 2 seems to be one of those games where you either love it or you hate it...

if your a fan of PvP and end game content you will love this game...

but otherwise you probbaly wont like it... i've seen many people saying they didnt like it and im seeing many people saying its the best MMO to date... it all depends who you talk to...

there is a grind tru, but it becomes much less noticable at higher levels since this game is geared towards high end players and there alot of content for those people... u cant really say u have officially played the game untill ur about level 30... i personally thought it was slow too but once you reach those higher levels its like a completely different game... its really a great game but only to those who will put some time and effort into it...

not to mention like u said, u played the beta... beta is minus ALOT of content that gets added in the next 2 patches (prelude and chronicle1)

i see some noobs saying its gimp but i have yet to see anybody level 30-40+ not liking it

Actually I dont like pvp much but I am loving Lineage 2 anyway.  It has a strong grind element to it but I really dont mind that personally.

Visually the game is stunning.  The choices of class and race are excellent with tons of skills to keep combat entertaining and on your toes.

Maybe after release it will become all about pvp and I will leave, but at least for now Its one of the best mmorpgs I have ever played.

I love PvP, although the game bored me to death, it was grind, grind, GRINDDDD! AGH! It was horrid, 2 hours or more to gain a level at lvl 11, it just wasnt my cup of tea.
