I agree, I don't think Elnator is talking about whether the war was wrong or not. The point is that Kerry didn't go Anti-War because he was actually against the war. He tried to run as a "War hero" and realized it wouldn't work. It wasn't until after he realized he couldn't run as a war hero that he decided to become "anti-war"

Sorry, doing what is politically expedient to get into power doesn't impress me. Making tough decisions based on your own beliefs and doing what you think is right, regardless of whether it's popular or not is what makes someone a leader. Leadership is about making very difficult decisions. Not 'going with the masses'.

Kerry lost my respect over that.

But when he started calling the soldiers who were over there following orders because they HAD to be over there "War Criminals" he crossed a line that can never be re-crossed. At that point he gave aid and comfort to the enemy. George S Patton was the one that said that. One of the most famous and decorated Generals in our history.

Kerry will never get my vote, nor anyone in my family. My father was in 'nam. And while he still isn't sure we were there for the right reasons he stands firm in his statements that troops, asside from possibly a couple of isolated incidents, never committed 'war crimes' and many of the so-called "war crimes" were caused by tactics the NVA was using.

Kerry is a slime, and he's never been a "leader". Even the way he got his Silver Star comes into question, because 1) The geneva conventions states that you're not supposed to use 50cal machine guns on personnel (They're anti-vehicular weapons) and, you don't "get up" after being hit by a 50 Cal. So not only did he let his deck hand use the weapon illegally he then turned around and opened fire on an already critically injured soldier who was no threat, killing him.

Never said I was for Bush because he was the best possible president. I said I was voting for Bush because Kerry is a worse choice.

Unfortunately, in this election, the choices aren't who will be the best president. The choice is "Who will be the lesser of two evils". For me? That's Bush. Elnator made a good point though.... Edwards would have been a pretty good candidate... Better than Kerry for sure, and definitely would give me some serious thought as to who to vote for. I think, when all is said and done, that Edwards is a better presidential choice than Bush... but Kerry isn't.

Nah, people just need to start thinking for themselves instead of voting for whomever the press is pushing lately. Edwards was a far better candidate than Kerry can hope to be. The only reason Kerry did so well is because the press kept pushing him. They even went so far as to push him as 'the guy who can beat bush' when Edwards, in every single poll that they did on a dem vs. bush ticket, did just as well as Kerry.

I honestly think Kerry's history and record are going to come back and haunt him. Independants, like myself, would have voted for Edwards. But I know a lot of my friends, including myself, won't vote for Kerry. So Bush gets our votes just to keep Kerry out of office.

Bottom line:
People need to think for themselves. Not toe some strange party line and not listen to everything the press has to say. And DEFINITELY not listen to just the network news.

But the lesson from korea makes the US quite worried about the many 100k chineese armies it can throw into the mix! Basically Vietnam was a weapon testing exercise. You can not try and back out with vietnamization leting an ill-prepared SV take over the conflict as that obviously would/did not work.
The US gov't (? remember pres Johnsen & nixxon) tried to scam the public about that bogus comunist domino theory that would lead to the fall of all asia into comunism... And when the scam wasn't working resorted to blatent lies and criminalization of the protesters that objected to just leting US soldiers die in a "war" we had no desire to win.

Blame Clinton for the economy, not Bush

If it wasn't for Clinton sitting on his lazy a$$ and riding the economy (Which did not go up because of him by the way) the Economy would be in ALOT better shape than it is right now.

Did You serve in the military? Did you serve in the Vietnam War? If both or either of these is a no then you have no right to say anything of the sort. Why becuase who cares if it was WRONG we sent troops over and those troops deserve our respect and loyalty. The War in Iraq might be WRONG but who gives a tiny rats ass we have troops over there so they deserve once again respect and loyalty.

I'm not saying anything about wars, but people like you are so blinded by some odd form of warped patriotism, that you dont care what the government does. You wouldnt care if the government decided to commit genocide on millions of people. You said it yourself, who cares if its wrong.

Now if you had true patriotism, the type of patriotism the forefathers had, you would care, everyone would care. They didnt care what nation they were part of really, they cared what was right, and thats what they wanted to have, a nation that would do what was right.

I think this guy is saying he was in cahoots with osama bin laden, told him to start doing guerilla warfare attacks on the U.S. so the economy would bomb, then everyone would want to blame him because they need a scapegoat, and he wants to be blamed? I'm pretty sure thats what the dude is sayin.

The dot com bubble burst as you refer to was called the Ecommerce I era, which actually ended in 1998, when Clinton was still in office smokin his cigars. As far as the economy going down after 9-11, read up on how much the US actually new and failed to act because they thoughtit was another empty threat.

Hindsight is 20/20. And yes they had bits and pieces. Part of the problem was not being able to share info between CIA and the FBI ect. Another part of the problem is that it wasn't handled properly after the first Trade Center bombing the USS Cole, Kobar towers (sp) and our embassies in Africa.

We were treating terrorists as if they were common criminals.

May not be the best person in the world to give a speech, but he is a very intelligent person.

Kerry is a slouch, hypocritical wind bag. He says, if elected, he will pull our troops back to the US and spend the first 100 days of his term going around apologising to all of the nations of the world?!?! WTF?!?! He is a total idiot.

America needs to start standing up for what it believes in. Stop letting these little guys push us around knowing we are just going to stand there and take it up the... And this is what Bush did.

I just know Saddam said to himself... "Damn, I pushed a little too far." He just kept pushing and pushing. If he had nothing to hide he shouldn't have been blocking the inspectors efforts. If he was just playing a cat and mouse game, then he played with the wrong President.

Maybe he was blocking the inspectors because he didnt like other people butting into his countries affairs. I sure wouldnt, might never has made right.

Although ya, I'd say all the democrats running are morons. Well, for that fact any democrat that has ever run. I'd vote Bush for president over them. Because all the democrats want are more government control, more taxes, just so they can give us a taste of communism. But one problem is that the U.S. thinks it has a right to butt its nose into whos affair it pleases.

If it just stayed neutral, it wouldnt have as many people hate them as it does.

Maybe the WMD was just an excuse, I don't know. Fine by me, we needed to show the world that we are done screwing around.

As far as Saddam not wanting us in his affairs, he lost all rights to privacy when he invaded Kuwait and lost the war. He was under UN resolutions, and he was failing to abide by them. He should not have even been in power anymore.
