Atleast over here people just use knives and get away with it
Wheres the GTA lawsuit? JAckkkkk?
i think the problem in america has less to do with guns and more to do with lack of parental controls, and people blaming the government for things that are innately parents fault.

When the hell does an AK-47 count as a pea-shooter?? I hope you are kidding...there is a reason the AK-47 has been so "popular" for this long. That thing packs a wallop...and I am guessing that the gun was over half the size of the kid.
I wonder if people are going to blame these recent incidents on Marilyn Manson like they used to? If not, I wonder who the new scape goat is going to be? I mean they are not going to point the finger at the parents and there has to be someone to blame.
As I recall it, Manson quite happily brandished those accusations as if it were a title No such thing as bad publicity after all, and it's exactly the kind of thing that makes his target market go "yeah!"
If I were in his shoes, I'd LOVE to be blaimed for this kind of thing - wouldn't you??
Blamed for what.. Taking an Ak-47 to school, and only using the rounds against the ceiling and the waterpipes? Nah :P
Yep, the stupid n00b forgot to clean his gun. It got jammed, and the Media is sad, seeing as it isn't as good a story without someone dead.
At least he was pretty stupid about what he was doing. Someone might have got hurt if he were smart. Reminds me of a story I heard about a guy who shot himself in the foot to show a hostage he was serious.

Media sensationalism. I had shootings in the high school in my neighborhood (Usually Latin Kings poping people) growing up every two weeks and it was not all over CNN. The only reason this is "scary" is because it is in the Non-City areas now. Well I'm sorry if I can not feign empathy all of the sudden.
School violence aint something new to me and it is not something I really fear.
musta been one non-intelligent incorrectly raised li'l SoB. if a 13 yr old has access to a AK-47. should have access to some type of bomb/grenade. i personally would blow the school up and try to get away with it...

Yay for blowing things out of porportion. There are 150,000+ schools in america, if in only 7 of those schools kids have brought guns in, that is absolutly amazing when you think about how many kids live in areas of gang violence. You should be thankful that there were only 7 school shootings over the course of 5 weeks.
If you were going to attack a target, wouldn't you want to go after one that is the easiest? You don't see too many people busting up into police stations and going on shooting rampages. I wonder, why is that?
Teachers with concealed weapons would definitely make someone think twice about attacking schools. And it would give the people inside the schools a greater chance at survival. I think it's criminal to make people work in a dangerous environment without having a means of protecting themselves. If evil people want to use weapons to hurt innocent people then it's only fair to let the innocent people fight back.

do you realize how dangerous that could be? what if a few students found out, and decided to take it one day. Maybe they should have an emergency button but teachers learn how to deal with students in different situations. They are able to stall them most the time until help arrives.

Who's going to stop Mr.Homles from shooting that smart ass boy that sits in the back of class and just get fed up with him?
Stupid idea, how could anyone even think about doing something like that.
They are schools, not a damn prison!
I for one would NEVER send my own child ( now that I'm ever going to have any..ew ) to a school where the teachers have guns. That's horrible.
yep theres more then a case for that if you look at police statistics......
give a man or woman a gun, baton, pepper spray, tazer, etc and on the wrong day of the week and it increases the statistics that realistically undeserved violence will happen on some smartass.
edit: ive already done my fair share of hurting people for little to no reason, which is why i dont care weapons anymore.....

Hmm honestly my teachers can't get rid of me quick enough... dunno why they would want to hold a hostage situation
I assume most of these shootings took place in primarily middle-class, white, suburban areas. These are the reasons why national news services run the story---they are owned by white folks and most of their employees live in such places. In the inner-city, poor, not white areas of the country bad shit like this happens every week of the year yet you never hear about it. To me that is really fucked up, and must change before you could begin fixing what wrong out on Hooterville.
Another thought I had was, for the past five years solid what have kids been watching on TV and reading about in newspapers? The US and it's "partners" raping Iraq. The message there is: Violence is the way to solve the problems. So, why not just do what the President of the USA does if you have a problem? The war against Iraq is not a PC game or a movie, kids know it's real and some of them with mental problems will use it to justify starting their own little war.

Concealed weapons in school = bad idea.
Giving guns to teachers is like giving guns to post men..
