Crap I remember Mos Vegas, it poofed years ago. Korolev was agreat place to hunt Krayt after the Cu and I got lost outside of Dune for a few hours as a clone zerging noob. imageI want a game were I can recapture that "I'm  a lost noob" sense again.

Mos Vegas was still there when I left. I think it actually moved a short distance away, based right around the Squill Cave.

It must have turned to Mos Virus then because I think that's what I saw there back around the Cu.

I have station access due to a few eq2 accounts.

I posted screen shots from starsider a bit ago when Obraik posted a screenie from Mos Eisley cantina on his server.

Mos Eisley had a "decent" amount of people around for the current time.  It wouldn't even have been half a crowd for any cantina back in the day.

One of our largest player cities was right outside Coronet.  Phoenix Risen or something close to that is the name.  They still have a shuttle port and what not.. but you really never see anyone there.

The last two Player Cities I was around much were on Naboo and still exist.  Both are maintained by one person that just goes and pays maintenence on EVERYthing in case somebody ever comes back.  I caught them out.. but I mean having 2 people out of a couple hundred that you knew.. around.. is sad.

It doesn't get me.. as to why SOE doesn't take down inactive cities and merge servers.

What gets me... is how they kept insulting and banning players that became former players... and obviously regardless of what "good for the long term" statements they made... You'd have to be a blind deaf and dumb boy to think this was working out.

Half of the original The Who (to the tommy reference above) are dead... and that means they still have more active players than SWG... /cough

As I posted in a thread I started... I didn't even "qualify" to answer questions regarding SWG in the survey they sent me.  They must only have wanted to hear from 50 people or less... because apparently you can't take it if you don't subscribe.

    oh well...

Geez, I remember when I started my guild on Bloodfin, pre-CU (march `05) we'd have to turn people away because our 20 man group to go kill the ackley was full.

When I quit you couldn't reliably get a group of 8 together for anything, and I was part of what was the largest guild on the server at the time.

I think everyone here is being facetious.  The NGE fanbois would argue that they are areound, you just weren't where they were :)

I remember when I could log into Bloodfin at 2AM, be able to easily find buffs (this was before I was myself a master doctor) and find other people to sologroup with and talk to.

That was 2 years ago of course.

Amen on that about the 'Fin. Used to be packed and rockin at all hours. God I still miss it, really need to get over it, but can't let the bitterness go.

Im personally seeing a ton of people, both new and otherwise. There is more pvp in the game now then there ever was which is a great thing, the pvp is almost constant in restuss. Also, mos eisley is smack full on my server, i was checking it out at one in the morning on a wednesday and both the cantina and outside the starport were very crowded with people.

So.. maybe you should stop playing at 6am or something? image

So I decided to go back for a month and try it out, mostly because NO OTHER MMO IVE TRIED EVEN COMPARES TO THE BREADTH AND SCOPE OF SWG, and I was pleasantly surprised to see a good level of activity. It seems there are vets and noobs in good (though I agree, nowhere near past) numbers, and they have corrected most (not all!) of the NGE mistakes. The thing I was dreading the most, the fps aspect of nge, is easliy turned off with auto-aim (hit Y to toggle) but if you leave it on, you get a +25% to crit, so its good in 1v1 combat. All in all, I dont know if I will hang around...ask me again in a month...

So name the server... I'll go take screen shots.

Cuz my server Starsider .. prime time = 12 to 25 people in Mos Eisley..

1am or 6am would be one...

and in the old days ... mos eisley 24/7 was a few hundred..

So I fail to see how it could be "crowded" now...

Like I said name the server so I can make a character there and see this miracle for myself.

Unless you were being sarcastic... because sometimes its hard to tell...

lol he probably wont reply and if he doesnt im pretty sure that we all know why :P

anyway i think ive finally figured it out.... the NGE was actually a test for sony to see if releasing crap and charging too much for it could still make them money....
since people stayed they think that the PS3 will actually do good now ;)

Pirrg you are so full of shit that I do not even know why you post here.

No there is not more PVP then ever, sorry we crashed servers with how many people we once had.

TWO- Sorry dude, 13 people in Theed 4 in Coronet, 30 in Eisley, 2 on Lok, 0 on Talus and a scattered few in Mustafar and Kash... but lets not forget the 50 in Restuess dueling is NOT MORE PEOPLE THEN EVER.

I am from Bria, going back to beta 2 and the land of the shrub -- WE HAD MORE PEOPLE IN BETA then there is now.

You are not going to lie anymore, because at primetime 9cst time on Bria those are the numbers and they get worse.

So while you claim some sort of bullshit advancment in the population there will be people that know better.

Go spew those lies elsewhere.  People here are just not that stupid.

Piirg, go troll somewhere else with your lies....The servers are not only dead compared to CU, they are even worse than a few months after the NGE....

It's really pathetic, just like you fanbois trying to talk up a game thatnoone likes...including you it would seem. When I was addicted to pre-cu the only forums I had time to check were the trade forums...other than that I was living inside the game.

You sir seem to spend more time on these forums.

Pirrg, if you are right, then why are they giving away free trials and even giving away the game and all but the Mustafar expansion for free if somone does the trial and actually opens a subscription?

Games that are in good shape (such as EQ2) don't do that.

I also highly recommend you visit your eye doctor.  I think you are seeing quadruple.

Meh, towards end of CU, when the first of the CU generation unlocked Jedi, Lok had hundreds running missions out of a player town. That cantina had several dozen alone. And those were just Jedi grinders alone. The rest of the game was going on elsewhere.

There were more BH chasing Jedi down during that time than there are total people on server now.

But whatever floats your boat. If you like Eisley being an oasis in an empty world, I have no problem with that. And if you consider a few people dueling to be the new-and-improved-now-with-more-flavor pvp, that's fine with me too.

But as MMOs go, SWG died. Just like DnL, AO and AA. All these games are still running, but they are dead for all practical purposes. And people are still joining, and still leaving.

Wait ... a player city became a ghost town? Unpossible!

Lol, player cities were ghost towns long before the NGE. Personally, I hated them. Not only did they detract from the NPC cities, dispersing the communities, but they were useless time and money sinks. I recall players thinking our city on Talus was 'active' because we typically had a few people running around.

I hate to rain on any parade's here , But You don't think even under a Pre-cu state . You would be seeing numbers like that do you ? Granted servers may be a tad more lively , Such a degree just dosen't seem a reality . I for one saw many guildies/Friends leaving on a daily basis all through this games lifespan . The largest falling out I recall was around CU's launch followed closely by WOW's . Maybe on some servers it was different , But that is what I remember from Bloodfin . Lets also not forget about during the hologrinding phase , Lots of people left . If you look at this in a realistic manner . By NGE they didn't have enough players left .To even fear losing the amounts they did during the earlier stages of the game .

Over a million copies sold , Never more than 300k total subs (roughly) . That's a 70% loss of customers , That spells failure through and through . WHats my point ? Numbers aside , It really boils down to one thing . What lost SWG more subsciptions , A ) The game B) SOE /LA and their horrible managment of the franchise(Past and present) ?

You just can't ignore the fact customer confidence in regard to SWG , And all of its baggage . Was never high , Never. That lost them more players , Than any other circumstance .

I had the most loss when WoW was released.  My entire guild of 100 or more left the day that WoW came out :(  2 or 3 of them returned a few months back...

I have not been playing SWG in 3-2 years now. And that time i was playing it, there was a lot of people playing. and the game had the best profession system and crafting system.. (i just loved that system)

But now when i was trying SWG again, evey thing look like wow (image) , the profession system, level system, and crafting system... And in total i have only meet 6-10 peoplel.

So WTF have happend to the SWG??..

(I think that SWG is dead, Thanks SOE)

And What is all that Pre-Cu, nge, combat Downgrade/upgrade about?? And why is there not any CHs?? and why is there only 9 profession?? (or is there 6?)
