That's because coh wasnt designed to be a game where you get to 50 THEN the game begins.  It was designed to be a true game throughout all levels, yes the game needs more level 50 content.

The problem is so many people have had their idea of what a mmo is(LEVEL TO THE MAX BABY) that anything that doesnt allow them to max out and begin the item grind quick enough is boring.

Aye.  There is no "Level 45 Twilight Cape of Uberness" or "Ogre Spandex" for people to raid for.

And this suits me just fine.   You wanna fawn over items, play Wow, GuildWars, or go back to Diablo.

The one thing I like about COH/COV is the lack of the random Uber item drop. Everyone is on the same level at 15 or at 35 (Well more or less that is)
One thing I hated about WOW and Guild wars were the gold farmers. Nothing worse than when you try to go after something so you can better yourself and have some gold farmer there taking it from everyone.
The vet rewards are nothing that will break the balance of the game but add to it. I am all for it.

I do agree that the mentality of a lot of players in any MMO id to level and get uber .... but that does not happen so much in COH/COV. This is one where you can have just as much fun at 10 as you can at 50. I guess the addage of "it is not if you win or lose but how you play that counts"

I always thought this game could be so much more, it has great environment, looks, and super powers, but the content has always been the number one issue at fault and cryptic studios has continued to avoid fixing it with each new issue.  The mission system is extremely repetitive, task forces are a huge time sink and pain in the rear with pugs, boss fights are a yawn fest.  The grind to 50 is mind numbingly boring, it becomes a race and all just to unlock some super powers that really wont be put to any good use because of the lack of endgame.  Cryptic Studios is too lazy to fix the content instead they just add more bells and whistles image

Yes, despite the many good features, this has always been my #1 issue with the game. When it had first launched, the fanbois and apologists said, "Give it time."

Well, I have. It's now 2.5 years in. There are one or two new mission types (mayhem, for instance), but 99% of the game is just "go into this instance and beat up everything in there." And once you are in there, what you find at each spawn point is just a copy of every other spawn point in the instance.

And that is why my account now stands cancelled, for the 2nd time... and probably will never be re-upped.

My response to cohs repetition is...what other game offers anything thats not repetitive over a long period of time.

WoW? nope... grinding and farming for items.
eq1/2? nope... again grinding, and farming for items
L2? nope...  Grinding the same mobs, till you level...then different mobs to grind, the pvp again is a distraction and fun.
GW? nope... Talk about repeated arenas, and don't give me the "but its a different fight everytime"  Tell me that after you come across your 15th toucher, or your 20th thumper in that playsession
DAoc? nope... I've leveled 2 50s in daoc solo pre cata, and 2 after cata, and it got really repetitive, pvp was a great break from it and i went to bgs alot(unfortunately some were quite desolate)

The reason why it gets repetitive fast for people is they are so used to just leveling and not really focusing on what the quests say or anything, just the fact that you are not max level and you should be.

So they get the feeling of "Man this is my 50th mission and i still havent leveled yet!"  And that's what causes the problems.

Noones stopping you from hunting in normal zones, doing missions, going into pvp zones at any time.

This games only as repetitive as you make it.  I know for one that the game changes more based on whos in your team and what enemy your fighting more then most others.

WoW isn't perfect I'm sure we can all agree it gets evil post 60.

But the repitition in WoW is no where close to CoX. WoW is a LOT less repititive. In WoW, you do not fight longbow for 20-30 levels straight (sirens+). In WoW, you can go to silithus, feralas, etc and do quests in different enviroments. on my journey to 60, I had a lot of fun and I never noticed any repitition. And because of the great pvp you never know what will happen (well i was a shaman so I didnt fear any classes much at the time)... Lastly, because the content isn't instanced, it feels a lot more realistic and the opportunity to make friends is a lot higher cause you see others questing right beside you. honestly in WoW you'll find yourself doing a lot of different type of quest anywhere from escourting someone, a lot of kill x, no retarded search for x (thank goodness), explore castles/caves/dungeons, and even a lot of unique content like interrogate witnesses, colect blood samples (battlegrounds), cap flags, and even class unique quests. The quests in WoW simply blows away CoX by far

In CoX games I would not mind the repitition at all if they provided double xp or speed up leveling. I dunno I have a lot of issues with CoX the speed of leveling is just one of my gripes. I'm just not convinced the Devs are very active in updating this MMO. Their Marvel Comics MMO is gonna suck I think cause they dont care bout their community at all. Dominators still blow and brute fury still hasnt been fixed. They've lied to Villains way too long image

For now my account is canceled I have no plans to return so far. but I'm still keeping an eye on it
