So when someone likes a game you don't, it means they have no taste. That makes PERFECT sense!
Of course the trial is worth it. There are serious EVE haters here, but I really enjoy it. It has the best community of an MMO I've played, and CCP kicks some serious ass.

According to me yes, it means you have no taste.

To the OP: free trial, let er rip. The worst that can happen is you uninstall.

I questioned your age because from the sort of nonsensical dribble you post, you seem like a 13 yr old trying to show how manly he is by flaming people on a internet forum for no apparent reason.
Yes we get it...you don't like eve. So don't play just move on. A couple of hundred thousand people who do play, disagree with you.
Oh and my post had nothing to do with originality. More to do with your implication that anyone who doesnt agree with you must have bad taste in gaming. Whats next? Will you send peopel hate mail or maybe pay them a visit with a baseball bat for disagreeing with you.
You're not a tough guy and you're one liners are neither meaningful nor funny. Peopel like you can be described in one word...5 letters...starts with an L and ends with ER. I'm expecting a reply from you in teh next couple of weeks...that should be sufficient for you to figure out the word. I'm not going to play your complicated word games friend. alls I know is EvE is the most boring game out there and people should be informed. I did say it wouldn't hurt him to try so no idea why you fanbois get all upset. Its quite ok that you're tyring so hard to keep people informed.
The rest of us are trying to keep people informed about what a useless troll you are.
You baseless opinion is worth nothing and I think the little statement below your avatar should be ample proof of what kind of person we are dealing with.
The thing about Eve is when you first play it "game immersion" is impressive, and you really feel like you're piloting a spaceship; it's just you and your ship out there in a vast galaxy, very cool graphics, nice music, decent sound effects, etc. Of course, there is interaction with other players but that's always done as if you are using a radio to communicate, you're not face to face but always in your ship talking to players in thier ships.
This cool space simulation thing becomes monotinous pretty fast, though. After a few months it drove me insane. I want to see avatars of humans or living creatures moving across my screen, not just pointy-looking spaceships and asteroids.
Nevertheless, I'd suggest you play EVE. Check it out if CCP is offering a free trail. You'll hate it, lol, so I'm not too worried.
We shoot EVE fanbois in this forum just to watch 'em die.

i agree , if we had a human figure in this game ,if we could walk inside some space centers , and even inside your own ship , this game would kill every possible mmo on the planet ..
but being a ship and only seeing ships , makes me feel stuck and lost at the same time in a huge endless universe. it lacks the cozy feeling . ok we go into other big ships , but all we see is endless items and text. we dont have that home feeling anywhere , imo.
i love the tuturial female voice , that makes the trial a must go , hehe. i did skip about half of it , after i learn a few basic stuff i went flying worp speed , auto pilot , jump gate after gate ... really amazing grafics , diferent color skys , all kinds of planets ...
i might do another 14 day soon just to make those trips again.
I've bcome more and more disenfranchised with Eve Online. At first the idea sounded great. A space MMO with trading, building, combat, and more. But I was also expecting something more Freelancer-ish. When I found it it wasn't that, I tried mining, which was incredibly boring. So then I tried crafting, which in itself can be interesting, but "playing the market", as it were is so much like work that I could be doing the same thing in the real world on the stock market and actually make money from it.
EvE is a totally different MMO then most, and requires a certain taste for it. EvE has great graphics, and a well knowledge user base. When first starting the game you will feel so lost, but just use the player help channel and you will be fine. This game is more a relaxing game, that you can sit back, and not spend a ton of time on. If you have a tight schedule, or just dont like playing with alot of other people you will like it. Most of the time you Corp is in other sectors mining or being pirates. EvE is a great game but it has to suite your style of playing. My favorite thing about it was I did not see many kids playing, like I do in WoW.

The fact that people like you don't like EVE is exactly why I play it. I don't have to deal with idiots like I did in WoW or most other MMO's. So I'll take that as a compliment. I didn't expect you to give real reasons why you dislike the game, you aren't capable of that. You just insult other people who don't have the same opinions, and thats all you are capable of. It's a true sign of intelligence
For those of you missing a walking avatar, CCP is adding planetary exploration. So that should be coming eventually.

about the only thing you can't really get into during the 14 day trial is the manufacturing and research aspects as they take more time and resources then you can get during just the 14 days. That said there is very little a newer player can't get intofairly quickly
well, been playing it for about 4 days or so now. i like it alot, really fun. tutorial was a *. lol, once i got it down i realized i only had more to learn, and so on, and so on...so much to learn. I like it thow, not sure if its the MMO for me however...but we'll see what happens after FF XII comes out. kinda my main focus right now lol. im leanin on Phantasy Star however....
Eve Online was great for the first week. I didn't seem to have any limitations as a trial-user.
The reason why I decided not to join Eve Online, was because you spend most of your time traveling on autopilot, and waiting days for skills to upgrade(Offline skill progression in Eve).
Of course, You can make yourself not do all the missions and just explore and do whatever. But pirate hunting seems to be the same almost every time... except a bit harder. Mining is just plain boring...
So, personally I liked the experience of playing Eve Online for a few days, but it is very very boring because the game moves so slow and it's very repetitive .
I think they need to try to appeal to beginning players a bit more.
The kali patch will be opening up the game for newer players in my opinion, by reducing turret ranges and adding combat booster drugs.

Eve online I found was an awsome game, but as far as I was concerned tediously repetitve as a solo player. Joining a active corp is where the game really becomes enjoyable.
There were plently of friendly corps back when I was in game that were more then happy to take on people on a trial basis, so yeah. Do the tutorial, play solo some to get your bearing, then start looking around for a corp to join.

Yea heeh like i said the learning curve is pretty steep [what an understatement lol] but i think you will find that when you join a good corp like say a pvp one or an industrial one the people in the corp will help smooth the learning curve a bit and eventually you will find your nich in eve life.
For example i took 3 months to get properly settled in eve and by then i ahd a pretty good idea on how icould make my way in eve. What i chose to do was to be a caldari battelship specialist and a resercher.
Granted 3 months is a long time compared to other mos' but its just a reflection on just how much there is to eve so if you dont fancy a gmae which has a lot of content to it and you prefer a more easy to get into game with more directected quest driven content then eve may not be for you.
If you want me to help you tho and be your guide and friend then contact my main eve charecter ST Dragon vie the eve-mail system and ill get in contact with you.

Why do people ask if something free, is worth it?
as if their time spent downloading a free video game would have been better served if they were doing humanitarian services in Africa

Ok, my honest opinion is (don't shoot me ) that I'm glad I tried the 14 day trial.
I mean it might not be a bad game, but just not my kind. Can't say what exactly was the reason, but I just stopped playing after a couple of days.
