Being a SWG refugee really has turned me from being a believing person to being a skeptic. I try and disprove things now before i get excited about them. It was just something that kinda stood out as being a little off. Your right though, PreCu leads to much less misunderstanding when trying to convince vets to come back.

I thought the Japanese servers were owned and operated by Electronic Arts under an agreement with LEC and SOE.

I have absolutely no confidence that "classic" SWG servers will be brought into existence. I'm a nihilist. But, I will say this, although I would jump at the chance to play game it was meant to be played, I would have a problem. I had one of the greatest bios ever for my character, but when they announced NGE I obliterated it and replaced it with "In the immortal words of my father, SOE and Julio Torres, you can both suck the snotty end of my fuckstick."
I...think I would have to change that if I decided to start playing again. Just a thought.
Hmm... let's put pre-CU on the Japanese servers, and then when most non-Japanese veterans try to play, they will quit in frustration at their ping rate. Then we can claim victory, that nobody really wanted to play pre-CU all along!! MUWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Having just returned from a week in Tokyo, it's clearer than ever to me why NGE could *never* have succeeded in Japan. Cleanest, most efficient, most crime-free big city I've ever been to ....... they couldn't possibly be asked to endure the shoddy quality and performance of NGE coding.
Whacky, pornographic, surreal ... they'd accept all of that in a game, no question. But quality problems of NGE level? No.
Japanese Servers showing up in the list... intresting.. i am sure they will jsut create the load, like they do with the other servers, and bump it up to heavy.. Then they can say how much fun all the asian players are having...
in other words, its a mistake, and working as intended...

As I posted in the Current forum, these have been popping up in the list for the last 6-8months. They'll pop up, then dissapear for a few weeks only to return again. They're always Offline though. I believe they're now in the english list since they had to transfer the stuff from them to the english servers.

Yes, they would have all the transfers done, but they likely added them to the list when they were doing the transfers and they just haven't changed the list yet.

I've never seen these servers listed on the enlish list ever before. At least not for 6 to 8 months.. I do actually log in more often than I'll admit. Mostly to admire my hologram collection.
What exactly would they be transferring..? The player transfers were done quite some time ago.
It would make more sense to assume that they are just being listed through some glitch with the launchpad changes.
I'm willing to believe they may have been showing up now and then since that launchpad change.. but certainly not for 8 months... not on my english list.
Obviously that doesn't mean it has anything to do with classic servers... But I think a launchpad glitch is more realistic than taking 8 months to transfer data... Unless the Japanese servers had a backup of Pre-CU.. to replace that NGE crap (sarcasm ;p just had to its devil night).
