allrighty then, anyone know a game in beta/alpha/what ever stage that uses real currency to buy ingame currency, and sell in-game currency for real currency?
(buy gamemoney and exchange them back for real money, deposit/withdraw)
not games like casino, and not games where you MIGHT get lucky and sell your accounts on ebay, im talking about games like project entropia, where you in-game can deposit AND (most important) withdraw your money.
thx

Project Eutropia does.
1 game dollar = 1 US dime
It's a pretty neat system. I played it for a few months, trying to make money at it is like trying to make money winning penny poker.
It's the cheapest MMORPG you'll find.

Make no mistake, MMORPG's are not games, they are hobbies. If you have a job, you'll need to give up watching TV in order to play one. You'll be better off for it.

Games like this are a rip-off either way you look at it. Do not do it.
If a bug wipes you out for some reason, then you are out more than time, you are out real money.
Project Eutopia had bug after bug that just stole people's money, made them lose ammo, atrophioed their gear, etc. All of these things cost money., And never once did they ever try to reimburse people for the failures of the game. The only game in existence where bugs actually make the developer's money.
After trying it out for 2 weeks and realizing they were ripping everybody off, I did a chargeback on my credit card for every penny I put into it. And Visa does NOT charge you anything to chargeback an online purchase. The VISA rep also told me that many people were complaining about that game and requesting chargebacks.
Well, There (www.there.com) lets you buy Therebucks from them. It's about 1,750 per dollar. You can't turn it back into cash unless you arrange to sell yours to someone else, but some people do it for 2,000 per dollar. I checked ebay and There's system has worked: absolutely no one was selling cash or goods on ebay because it was much easier to do so in-game.
Oh I would point out that you can't earn money in-game except by developing new items, etc. However, the fee is only $5/month and for that you get 3,000 Tbucks free.
clever glove, i stuck 20 USD into entropia, 2 weeks later i had more than 1000, so its easy to earn money in PE just mine, and do it right..
though im looking for games LIKE entropia, not entropia itself
i gave away my 1000 ped to a noob (thats like more than 100 USD)
i dont want to play it... too addictive.
apfox, do you mean that you CAN cashout in-game ?
i didnt quite get that.. thanks fo your reply btw
never trust these scams!! ..
Companies are not that dumb to lose money rather than making..
Yes, you can cash out in Entropia.
As for making 1000 PED mining. Wow... how many hours did that take? What a joke. That is like work. You could have made more than that in an 8 hour shift delivering pizzas.
Get a job if you want to make money...
EDIT: Sorry, didn't realize you were asking about There. Ignore my first sentance!

Entropia is similar to most games on the market. Mobs drop loot, loot has value, etc...
Problem is, they have money sinks out the butt in the game. All you gear degrades, you have to pay to repair it. To kill a monster you have to shoot it 20 times, each shot costs money. You usually spend more money (ammo) shooting the monster than the value of the loot. It is kinda like gambling. You are playing for the big payoff, in the hopes you get a rare loot drop with a fair chunk of money.
The biggest problem with Entropia is the attitude of the developer. Bugs that steal your money, ammo, gear, etc are common, and their attitude is that they can just say sorry. No reimbursement or anything. All of those things you lose cost Real money.
Gah. Bad news. However, if your heart is set on finding one. . . This isn't an MMORPG, but a shoot'em up game -- GunBound. Tis free to play and download, and fun, however extremely tedious. I know it isn't an MMORPG, however check it out. Lots of eBay stuff here. Upgrades for your character. You can even by the upgrades with real money, if you don't want to rack up the in-game gold.
While you cannot cash out officially in There, it is a very common practice for memebers to sell their T$ at a better rate than There's $1787/$1, and it is not against their TOS to do so... in fact, at one point they specifically reworded their TOS to allow for it. There are a variety of ways ot earn T$ in There, the most common one being designing clothes and 3D objects and selling them to other players.
That being said, There isn't really an MMORPG.
