Bluntly put, the answer to this question is yes and no. If you are looking for something simple and around 2-D. There are more than just a few games like that online. They are free and more than simple to download, however buggy and sometimes not worth it. If by chance you are looking for a "simple" and "free" download of something more along the lines of EverQuest, Lineage, Asheron's Call. . . Then the best of luck to you in finding one. You have a long search ahead of you! The reason why the download is big, or even if they are put on CDs and shipped to stores is because, obviously, the game is huge! That's why its fun! And also they are made paid for, because they are not buggy and filled with game-goodness! However, try some of these. . .
+Well of Souls.
+Furcadia.
+Conquer.
You can even try some free trials. I know those aren't much, but its a start! I would highly suggest putting in the money and actually getting a -true- MMORPG. Trust me, you'll want too. Good luck! (:
-=-=-=-=- Make no mistake, MMORPG's are not games, they are hobbies. If you have a job, you'll need to give up watching TV in order to play one. You'll be better off for it.
