Been playing on/off since launch but yesterday i decided that i was quitting wow for good this time. After quitting and coming back a few times since launch, this time i make sure it was the last time. I just delete all my characters (Over 30 characters of various levels, including 4 level 60).
Bye WOW it was a fun ride.

This is not a personal aggression against you. I just dont see why people have to announce that they are quitting.
I guess everyone needs to vent just a little so they can get some closure.
Yeah grats on kicking the MMORPG habit. It can be really tough to quit a fun MMO. It's the folks you leave behind that make it hard to quit. This is what sucks bout MMORPGs, they cutoff your access to the forums / friends etc which is kinda lame.
Btw, now may I suggest a new game? Try Neverwinter nights 2 and/or Guild Wars. NWN2 has MMO-lite servers ran by fans and GW is free too. So you dont ever have to worry bout saying goodbye ever again (at least til the next gen MMOs come out lol)
I have a few level 60's and am pretty bored atm. I have all my epic gear on my dwarf warrior now, maybe a few blue trinkets. I am waiting for the expansion. So all I do now is cruise the lowbie areas and help who I can with quests when asked. I also look for Horde ganking lowbies. I wont attack a horde unless they are 50 and above or if lower ones attack me first.
I am burned out on raids.
they calling me...... they calling me.......
you can't resist.....
normal life is so boring....
they calling me.....they calling me......
We don't care, MMORPG.com staff doesn't care, Blizzard doesn't care.
That's right. Noone cares.
There are atm many players leaving the World.... of Warcraft, luckily not all of them are making posts about it . I myself is also thinking of quitting WoW, but I won't quit until I have fixed another MMORPG which is as good as WoW and that I like. Someone got any ideas on any good MMORPG like WoW, but more PvP based, and out now?
Perfect Point to Start new from the beginning.
Personally I would have taken the few hundred bucks or so that I could get off Ebay for the account....but you must be loaded.
Have any of you givin EQ2 a try..i mean realy and not the trial

to come back? Was it all for nothing? If u achieved something, why not
keep that? At least u can show to someone, or even yourself at a later
time that you acheieved something.

Awww... Don't you worry They will undelete your chars for you. You'll lose your equipment and items but can get your char back.
And what do you mean "achieved something" unless your selling on ebay, by playing an MMO you're are wasting time that could be used to acomplish something. It isn't like it is a big deal to hit cap level and get some decent equipment. And in the end all that is, is a trophy to how much time you have wasted.
Now there is nothing wrong with wasting time if you have time to waste. But understand, wasting does not equal achieving. When you realize that your "uber" char is really just one of a million, and that you spent countless hours to become nothing more then one of a million you understand you haven't really gained much and thus by deleting you aren't really losing much. You lose your time "investment" but help to ensure your future time is spent more wisely.
As an example 718 hour of Civ4 as great as game as it is, could have been spent getting a degree. Online degree some certification, going to night school. Working; @ $10 hour that a little less than $7000. You get the idea. Gaming whether online or not, is simply a very inefficant way to spend time. It become increasing preilous because of the addictive nature of gaming. I don't know many people that read 40hrs a week, or even watch that much TV, but I have known people that game 40hr a week.
It even becomes worse when you find yourself on forums debating tactics and builds and agruing about something that doesn't little more then steal your time away and causes you much stress. When you're in the loop it is hard to notice.

I did basically the same thing - started during beta, was there day one, quit twice and went back last month for the third go at it but quit in the third week. I think the more you go back, the more you realiza what a grind-fest it really is and how ludicrous the game mechanics are. I didn't go back because I missed it - I went back out of familiarity and sheer boredom. It's pretty bad when you decide you'd rather just be bored than spend one more second in Azeroth.
