I'd have to say Lineage 2 was the best beta I have ever played. Though it had some bugs (mostly things lost in translation from Korean to English) it was the most complete beta I had ever seen. Intense, to say the least.
You know what really sucks, I havent had the chance to play a beta yet! I really want to and Im looking at a lot of different games, but I can only keep my hopes up I will be chosen as one of the testers for WAR! I think that game is going to be fantastic!
Best beta i have played is Ferentus, awesome game, maybe not great graphics, but i think it had the nicest community and the game system was unique. Unfotunately DQ cancelled the game before it gets to its final stage. I hope some day Ferentus back, and i know lot of ppl wait the same thing
Ive played in many Beta's but none of them i can really call the best. Still waiting for that one beta which instantly grabs my attention and which is very fun to play. ^^ Aion looks very promicing.
- Anarchy Online: bugged but so much fun ^^ Also been the game I played most till now.
- Guild Wars closed beta: Turned out not to be a game for me since it wasn't a MMORPG, but the beta was great due to the smooth and fun gameplay.
- RFOnline Philippines and eu/us closed/open beta: didn't play retail since the game didn't offer enough to pay a monthly fee for it. But the beta itself was lotsa fun.
most definitely ragnarok online closed beta.. haha it was amazing, billions of novice's... lol i remember seeing the first knight on a peco-peco.. everybody going crazy.. ahh good times
dunno if i posted already...any how i have to say that my most memerable has got to be the Knight Online Closed/Open Beta, Flyff open beta, Martial Heroes Beta, and maybe legend of ares closed beta.
Man the most memberable ones are flyff, Martial Heroes and Knight Flyff, was grinding...but fun Knight Online had humongus maps and a ton of people, easy to pick up as well Martial Heroes had large maps as well and a nice system....took me a while to pick that one up.
In WoW beta I met two nice girls that played EvE and then I started playing it too. Did the trial, quit..then went back and now 1year 3 months into EvE.
Plus, I still have the screenshots of the naked NE's dancing around. Lol. It was very fun despite the uber lag and bugs.
DDO was funny as well, met some nice people, had loads of fun. Wrote a few journals, the GMs spammed magical items on our party...just too nice.
End of CoH US beta. The last thing they did before turning off the beta server was to have an all out alien invasion across all the zones, complete with flying saucers floating above the zones. People where fighting nonstop and more and more aliens kept coming till the zones where flooded with them.
Sometime during the battle people noticed that some of the aliens where trash talking. It turns out that the DEVs where playing as the leaders of the alien invasion force. Soon people ignored the normal alien spawns and only went after the DEV controled aliens. Good Times.
CoH/CoV - Victory Server

Everquest 1 was most definately the greatest MMORPG to date in my opinion. Played from launch for over 5 years. I've forgotten more about that game than most of you ever knew, more good memories then i could count in a month. Great times Great Times

I'd have to say SWG. The game ended up totally sucking when it launched (we begged them to delay), but just to actually step into the Star Wars Universe for the 1st time was simply amazing!
