MMO man:
he defends these shitty Asian MMos I'll never know.
You know MMO man, you could see the two of us as citizens of one of those VERY small farmer towns of old days. Most of those citizens are ignorant. Everything that has come from their own land is good, and everything that comes from the big city is bad. No matter if we try it or not, its bad, because it comes from the big city and has a bad influence on our peaceful little town. Those weird city folk.
But you see, MMO_MAN. there is always once citizen who is open fom idea's from the big city. In fact, this once citizen often travels to the big city to see what its like there, and to see if there are new things, experience them. things like that.
You see MMO_Man, I'm that one citizen. your just ordinary village folk. and that is the diffrence between you and me.
What's comical is that you think you are above anyone who doesn't like Asian MMOs. You act as if you're the only person who has ever played these shitty games, I played Archlord beta and it was a turd just like all the other Asian games.
You see I'm one of those citizens who knows for a fact that things that come from my own land is superior in quality to things that come from the city. I've been to the city and it was dirty and smelly, full of crime and weirdos. You on the other hand, went to the city and was seduced by the weirdos and liked the smell of the trash in the gutters. Yes Gameloading, I "MMO_Man" have been to the city but I didn't like it there. You went there and ended up staying, and try to convince other people to join you there, but they can't stand the smell either. See? you only prove my point. You didn't went to the city. You NEVER played a korean mmorpg that didn't get translated. You played the very few korean MMO's that came to the west and you base your entire opinion on that. Your ignorant, and a hypocrit, village boy. also, learn what the word fact means. Um, seeing as how I don't speak Korean it would be kind of hard to play a Korean MMO that hasn't been translated, now wouldn't it?

Actually, me and many others can play Korean MMORPG's just fine. It does take time, it does take trying, and you will have to re-create a character quite a few times, but it is possible.
Ofcourse, you don't HAVE to play those games, but then don't come into a topic, thinking you can judge those games of which you don't even know they exist.
Originally posted by myrrdinirl O RLY? if you think 100k subscribers is a success then EVE online is more than a success + more popular than lineage 2. Also, we're talking about western gamers not wanting to pay monthly to play asian mmorpg's. If it was never "brought" to the US then why do I care? The reality of the whole situation is archlord is a flop because nobody in the west will pay monthly and they're trying to recoup their losses via a typical asian mmo item shop setup. There's better games out there than grind centric asian mmo's. Sorry
oh EVE is certainly a success and its more popular in Lineage 2....in some countries, that is, Because World wide, Lineage 2 is far more successfull, with currently 1,4 million subscribers, and a nice 4 million subscribers at its peak time. Why do you care? well for starters, it might open up your little world that every asian MMORPG is the same?
Again you say "Nobody will pay for west will pay monthly for asian MMORPG's, yet facts prove otherwise. To name a few, Lineage 2, Lineage 1, Ragnarok Online, R.O.S.E, RF Online, Final Fantasy XI, Fairyland online.
Also, all mmorpg's are grind centric, including western ones.
And WoW is more popular than Lineage 2... your point? I named a game that was innovative and made in the west. Final Fantasy XI is pretty popular but it had a whole lineup of Final Fantasy games in the west and a large fanbase in the west before release. RF Online, Lineage 1, Lineage 2... flops in the west. R.O.S.E is complete shit, cheating runs rampant (and i'm sure bots do also), but i'm sure you're used to that. I don't know a whole lot about rangnarok online or fairyland but i'd put money on it that it all boils down to how many hours/day you can grind vs the next guy.
Ok, next ignorant reply.
My Point? that Lineage 2 is more popular then EVE, that was my point. also nice to mention is that WoW is the ONLY mmorpg that had more subscribers then Lineage 2. or wait there was one more. Lineage 1.
If they are flops, then why are they still running after all those years? I will let you think about that one for a while.
EVE is an innovative niche mmo and Lineage 2 is fantasy - enough said. There's lots of western mmo's with more western subscribers than lineage 1 or 2. Once again we're talking about the WESTERN market. A running game doesn't indicate a success, look at Auto Assault.
If they are litterly running for YEARS, then yes, it DOES indicate a success, because no company is foolish enough to keep up a game that is no longer making profit.
EVE is indeed an innovative niche MMO....with absolutely ZERO competition, Lineage 2 on the other hand is probably the game with the most competition.
Then why are you comparing them?
Oh we're talking about the western marker? Sure thing, Most western games have more subscribers then eastern in the west...ahum, your point? Because you clearly said that NOBODY would pay to play eastern mmorpg's, which I have proven wrong, so I don't exactly get your point.
I was hoping that you would understand the ratio of people paying for western mmo's in the west: people paying for eastern mmos in the west is very offset in favor of the western mmo's. Yes, there's people like you that want to grind for 28328273 hours for the next "LVL UP ^_^", but not nearly as many that want to have fun. Here's my question- If there's so many people in asia playing western MMO's, why aren't they all playing those awesome Asian mmo's that are so dear to you? Well, Gameloading, the answer is simple, the people enjoy having fun and not grinding for months. Have a good day sir

You are dead wrong. Shall we look at the facts here?
Everquest release in asia: Closed down UO release in Asia: Closed down EQ2 released in asia: Closed down. EVE release in asia: Uncertain, I think it still running with a pathetic player base, but It could be they closed down. City of Heroes: Running with VERY little subscribers, I even think its already closed down
Why they play those games? they ARE playing those games. WoW is the only western mmorpg that is a big success in asia. Asian MMORPG's are MUCH more popular then most western.
And sure, some people like to pick their own hunting spots and playing PVP, Other prefer to let NPC's tell them what to do, followed by doing the same raid instance over and over again. to each his own
But as you said "have a nice day" I will assume you will step out of this discussion. In the future, I recommend you actually get your facts right before you go into debate with me.
