Subscribers? Your kidding me right? Anyone who registers on the SWG boards is considered a subscriber. Look at EVE, 300k to 500k subscribers but only a 150k playerbase. I have yet to see the 500k PR report.

Come on, that's just not true and you know it.

Do you play MMO's at all? Which part can you just not believe? The fact that subscribers to a game do not equal actual players (a commonly known thing for MMO players)... Or the fact that EVE most likely has more players than SWG at the moment?

Ok, what part do you not get? SUBSCRIPTIONS mean people that SUBSCRIBE. YOU PAY. If you're going to argue this point, you look like a fool. I never said anything about poeple that play, we were talking about SWG Subs at it's prime, scroll up. SWG has no more them 25k Subs if they're Lucky, and that based on the Forums use %.

25k today? Wonderful. I was referring to your baseless comment of "400k Active Subscribers"

Or are you referring to the PR comment from this article where it reads:

"June 17, 2003 ? LucasArts and Sony Online Entertainment Inc. today announced Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided, the highly anticipated initial installment of the first Star Wars massively multiplayer online (MMO) game series, will release June 26, 2003. The Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided online fan community now exceeds more than 500,000 registered members. "

Or maybe this article which reads:

"Sony Online predicts that within the first three months, 500,000 people will buy the boxed Galaxies product and then begin paying an as- yet-unannounced monthly subscription fee."

Notice if you will that neither say they have 500k active players. Instead its predictions and registered members. There was hope but it never reached fruition.

In March 2004 Smed released the statement:

"Star Wars Galaxies has much more than double the number of subscribers quoted on GameSpy. For the record, the title is doing very, very well and is the second largest MMO in the North American market."

FYI, Gamespy quoted the numbers at 100k or less.

Also, SWG was not Bleeding subs, it was loosing and gaining as many subs as would be expected. The problem was, and said by Smed, was that they never reached the number they thought the game should be at (code language for "SW means WE'RE supposed to have all the WoW'ers). Up until the CU, Every one of my Guildies had left due to bug frustration, DOT's, Loading Vedors, Comp Wars & Buffs, but we ALL came back... over & over...

Smed himself said referring to the NGE:

"It was a business decision based upon a declining playerbase. One thing that’s lost in this discussion is that with the playerbase leaving we had to do something. It’s great to get emails from players where they say SWG before the NGE was the greatest game ever, but the declining playerbase told us something different. "

They knew they were losing subs and tried to fix it with the NGE. It failed. You and your guildies that left prior to the NGE are part of the "declining playerbase" that he mentions twice.

Please. You're quoting the Devil who's claiming he had to turn up the heat in hell, it was cold.

LOL. Yet you say he said something else. You seem to like to use him as ammunition until someone throws it back on you here. I quoted him directly, something I have yet to see in any reply from you. If you have issue with what he says take it up with him.

But if you believe him to be "the Devil" and not trustworthy of what he says maybe you shouldn't use him to justify your arguments eh?

Err... Einstien... You refered to Smed, not me... I pointed out the FACT that the servers were full & some even had waiting cues. I also refered to the FACT that the only PR announcements made about sub were the PR releases saying 1) the had over 400k Subs & 2 ) the were going to be hitting 500k soon. Stop making stuff up, and you may be able to put together a real arguement.

I referred to Smed based on your own comment of what Smed supposedly said (highlighted in case you forgot) to refute your unfounded claim with an actual quote by Smed himself.

still chanting the 400k mantra eh?Show ...me....the....PR ...letter. Can't say it anymore clearly.  You can't. you know why? There was no announcement they had or were near 500K subscribers.

    You catching on now?

    damn, I was MIA.

I would of let him known his worth .....less than zero??

Is it really hard to picture Freeman falling out from under Smeds desk, with a little too much eyeliner on.

    Hummmmmmmmm.....

If I know Freeman has creative input on a project, you might as well put a Biohazard sticker on the box and tell me all proceeds go to funding Jihadist training academies, because that's how likely I am to buy it.

What part of "Old PR's" do you not get? Not only that, it's clear I was refering to old game.

Actually, I was refering to THIS, which is what you were trying to spin above. It says:

"Launched a year ago, Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided quickly became the fastest growing massively multiplayer online role playing game (MMORPG) in North America and today boasts over 500,000 registered users, with more than 115,000 players logging into the game every day. "

It doesn't say Forum users, it says registered users. You see, USERS use something, in this case, a game...

Also, SWG was not Bleeding subs, it was loosing and gaining as many subs as would be expected. That isn't the only quote he ever gave. Read his posts on the OF's (where he did say SWG should have been a stronger title), the Mad Interviews he did, and never had the Subs it should have pulled in as a SW title), as well as Julio's interviews, Raph's comments, and so on. You don't want to read and just want to stick to ONE post, fine.

LOL spinning registered users into onlineplayers now eh? Especially with a copy of the same statement I showed that they made prior to launch. ROFL, ok enjoy your fantasy world. Amazing. Here I thought you were trying to have an actual debate with actual facts, but alas you are just spinnning to bash SOE with BS. Should of learned by now to expect nothing less.
