All I see is blue...

What you guys think about the new look? I think it's cool, gotta get used to it. I will really miss the old look and the old icon. I guess ever since Methane said that the icon looked like uhh...yeah, someone decided it was time for change. Well so far smileys isn't working for me.

lol I noticed that old icon looked like GOATSE too. lol, didn't know that Methane pointed it out yet though haha. But yeah I like the new look, very cool layout.

But like..your poll bars are really really thin. weird.

Meth pointed it out and after over 3 years of looking at the logo...I realized it this year. Yeah it's sad though. I like the layout too, still looking around though. I have posted about the poll issue in the New Site Comments/Suggestions.

the new look actually sort of hurt my eyes:/...We'll see if I get use to it... I like the new style with the "mm()rpg"... But yea, I wish the colors would blend a bit more and not be so bright:/... That's just me right now though, I may get used to it later...

I dont like it. One of the reasons I really like this site before was its dark look. I especially dont like the new nav bar.

All i have to say is fuckin ewwwww, the old site was soo much better and original, now mmorpg blends in with all the other websites, i liked the old one sooo much better.

The only improvement i like is the quote box thingy.

Yeah it's bright at the top of threads and when replying because of all those grey bars+light blue. It's not as bad as some of hte other sites i've seen and at least it gets better as you scroll further down the list of replies.

Agreed, now it doesn't just use those tacky _____________'s to indicate a quote

Wow, what a surprise after just returning! Actually I like the look. It's crisp and clean. Like all of you, still poking around on it though.

I'm on Firefox as well and it looks like the drag/drop of the smileys works fine for me too.

Edit: Just noticed how large the section is up top which says "General Discussion" with the giant "O" icon. If they could shrink that down a bit, maybe to the size of the Mail, Recent and Active icons, that would be much better.

wow!!! EVERYTHING is different, i have to say i like the older look better. One thing i like is that everything is labeled pretty good. everything kind of pops out at you now, but i'll get used to it i guess. and those smileys look kick ass, hope they'll work soon ahh im missing family guy cya!

Just to point out, one of the great things about this change is the ease of updating the site or even offering users a variety of skins to choose from. Evan (the designer) is using a 99% CSS/XHTML based design, so that these kind of things will be a snap to implement.

I know that change is a hard thing to work with - and we expected that any direction we took would be loved by some and hated by others - getting around this is impossible when dealing with over a half million registerd users.

If you think things can be improved please let us know what you think. We now have a designer on our team so improvements should come much quicker and things should start looking a bit nicer around here

Another note, if the home page looks messed up you might need to Ctrl-F5 it - our old images might be cached in your browser for our features, etc.

Interesting though, I put the quote tags in my sig and it puts those ______'s on the top and bottom, it doesn't box it.

We're already at work on another 'lighter' skin for the site. If the demand is present we could also make a darker one to appease the folks that like it dark

Okay, I have time to feel more used to it now... It feels like somethings missing, or rather what I mean is, it seems split... The top is really bright with the bright blue and white, while the bottom part, where we're posting, not as much brightness... Maybe we could use some color for our profile box on the left of each post similar to the admins? Maybe then it could balance the areas out more ( strictly speaking about the forums area)...

Wait if the majority of the site is XHTML then this is going to leave a lot of PSP Browser users disipointed. I'll test the place on my PSP later tonight to see how it looks.

Black, blue and grey is nice but it's doing some weird effect with my eyes. Focusing on white text and black background is ok with me but with the bright colors (blue) floating around the screen it's kinda hard to focus. Maybe there should be a new (classic) template so we can stick around with the old one we know and love and show new members how we lived though it.

The blue looks silly, almost kiddish. Now the site looks really generic. What I do like is that drop down menu that takes you to the less popular forums. Good Job on that!

So, what colour would you say isn't kiddish?

But seriously, the blue is an extension from the existing blue theme. This site will evolve and grow as it has in the past, and we are always open to hearing suggestions, so I would like to know what colour you would use, or maybe you think we should darken the existing blue?... more navy?

You know what, I somewhat agree that it does look a bit childish... Looking at some of the professional/business websites, I think this website needs to blend better... If you use more than one color, I think the colors need to tie into eachother more. Basically, there needs to be a main color, and the rest of the other colors need to have some tint of the main color with some exceptions... In this case the main color could be blue? Gray?

Anyways, I think the blue probably is alittle too bright. And I don't think just darkening the blue will fix it. Maybe the blue could use some more shades of gray and be less bright.

Edit: yea possibly a bit more navy

Edit2: you know what I like the frontpage(Home) though... there's just something wrong with the forum area...and other sections. I may not know what I'm talking about...I say go back to my last post lol, make something bright for the profile box or something, so the other bright stuff doesn't stand out so much...

I would certainly darken the present blue. Or go back to the color scheme you had before, or somthing close to it.
