FFXI. Once you get level 10-12, you never solo again.

  • paulscottpaulscott Member Posts: 5,613
guildwars but they shot themselves in the foot with the expansion :(.  maybe when the party search comes out they'll be redeemed.

I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.

I try GW in beta, and dont like the system of game and team, and play FFXI 4 moths and get hated to stay 1 or 2 or 3 hours, in city for play in team 1 hour, for i lose all the time for get party.

And i love PSU, but is only repeat repeat and repeat, no much items and get "tendonitis" / "tendinitis" for play too many hours with gamepad ::::07:: . and for that im looking for MMORPG.

For no repeat answers, i try, GW, WoW (i hate it), EQ2, FFXI, MoX, CoV and D&D

  • WoW is Anti-Party... From what I've read i'd wait until vanguard, they've said their design stratagy was 20% solo play 20% raiding and 60% small group play.. .and you're pretty similar to me in mmo taste

vanguard is a EQ clone. EVery report so far says its dull and the gameplay feels outdated.

    Care
to back that up with links to "reports" that have come out during beta
3 or 4?  Or just going to spew that shit out because its the
    current fad to VG bash?

Shadowbane. Oldschool but amazing group vs group combat, especially when on a large scale. I pretty much only play it for the "team" play because the PvP in it is REALLY boring after about 3 seconds.

Current fad, my ass. I've been slamming Brad McQuaid since he was involved with EQ1. If you don't Vanguard is an extension of his "EQ1 vision" then more fool you buddy.

I won't even go into his appalling attitude toward his player-base either, apart to say I hope he changes it in time for Vanguard's release.

Domi have you even READ what they hope to accomplish from the game. Its an EQ clone, by the creator of EQ. Open your eyes. Anybody who jumps on the "Vanguard will save the world" is just as lame as anybody who claimed "Dark and Light will save the genre"

Edit: as for a team game, Id go with WoW or EVE if you want a game that last a long time. Both are heavily reliant on guilds/corps

You need to quote the right guy, buddy. Admittedly, this board doesn't do quoting as well as some.

  • MunkiMunki Member CommonPosts: 2,128
I was quoteing the whole argument, and adressed the user in which I had an argument againsed. I thought it only fair people know what I was arguing about.

WoW is not anti-group. Damn people who never played the game should not make comments about it. You can group in WoW all the way to 60 if that is what you want to do. If all you want to do is run dungeons then that is up to you. If by anti-group you mean not forcing you to group via out dated and lame gameplay mechanics in order to level then maybe you are right in that respect.

Games I've played/tried out:WAR, LOTRO, Tabula Rasa, AoC, EQ1, EQ2, WoW, Vangaurd, FFXI, D&DO, Lineage 2, Saga Of Ryzom, EvE Online, DAoC, Guild Wars,Star Wars Galaxies, Hell Gate London, Auto Assault, Grando Espada ( AKA SoTNW ), Archlord, CoV/H, Star Trek Online, APB, Champions Online, FFXIV, Rift Online, GW2.

    Game(s) I Am Currently Playing:

    GW2 (+LoL and BF3)

    Yes
I have read what they hope to accomplish, and it seems quite different
from what EQ was.  Ive been following the game since Sigil first
announced it was being worked on, and I by NO means think this game is
going to "save" the genre.  That opinion is about as stupid as the
"Vanguard is an EQ clone because the creator of EQ is working on it
    ZOMGZZ!"

Have you READ the forums lately?  The hardcore
playerbase is absolutley devasted, they were looking for another EQ
style game and are absolutley shocked at the way VG has started to
implement things that move it towards the casual side.

By the way, I'm still waiting for links that prove that "every report" has said the game is dull and the gameplay is outdated.

I hate MMO fanbois, but I hate those who instantly spit out negative comments about MMO's with NO proof to back themselves up.

Its like people saying " I hate Bush!!", but have no freaking idea WHY
they hate him, they just say it because everyone else is saying
it.  I don't like Bush either, but I have some damn good reasons
    for not liking him.

I would actually suggest Phantasy Star Universe for the Xbox 360 if you want a team game...That game is pure 90% team for exp/items/cash.

No PvP in it yet though but the Voice Chat incorporated into the game makes it 20x better than the PC version. Also no one is hacking the 360 one (yet) like the PC is just one huge hack fest.

So get that if you like teams and hard leveling.

I mean anti-party as in you almost never party and partying has completely no purpose(as apposed to leveling solo... there is just no bonus...) I played for over a year and wanted to do nothing but party... guess what... the furthest i got was a lvl 54 lock... 99% of the gamers on the normal servers and PvP servers are powergamers who solo up to 60 as fast as they can and say 'oh you want to party shove it where the sun don't shine you damned carebear.' and the people on the RP and RP-PvP servers don't even bother RPing and do the same old thing... it's a game where there is no reason to actually party to level... I mean I never got a party outside a looting instance where i was ordered to pass on everything and if i didn't pass, i got kicked from party... and I don't call a chaotic group of guildies fighting over tier armor a party... I've taken more that enough crap from blizzard's WoW department to be able to bad mouth them at this point after over a year of subscription to a sub par single player game with a massive chat channel...
oh and they're not outdated game mechanics that force you to party nor are they lame however I respect your right to have an opinion no matter how much it angers me to hear it.

well back on topic(an sorry for my rant... have had a bad day)... if not Vanguard;  Ragnarok 2 in what i believe is a quote from gravity(not 100% sure...) "Killing one strong creature has been redesigned to be far more effective than killing multiple weaker enemies. Grouping has also been made far more beneficial to those in the group." so that might catch your interest when it's released.

Guild Wars is not really team play unless you pvp'ing and it takes awhile to get to a point your worth pvp'ing .. and I hate pve solo, so I stoped playing :)
  • tubelighttubelight Member UncommonPosts: 276
i am not sure if you have heard about it, but Knight Online is a team based game. Once you cross leve l7 or 8 soloing becomes and useless and you are forced to look for a party and make friends in the process. Knight Online is not a mainstream game and it has only 4 character classes. But the game is fun to play. If you plan to play it i suggest the malaysian server. The international one is partial to free players.

    Raiding, instances, battlegrounds... elite quests.
Only game I know that gives you the option of more partying is FFXI...

WoW lets you do either way, group being more efficient.

Being in a good corp in EVE is just great. And trade/building is very lucrative. So, try it out perhaps?

DDO, CoH/CoV, and FFXI are the only games that I am aware of that have you grouping from almost the beginning to the end because of necessity. FFXI is the only game that has some form of tradeskill's.

MMORPG's w/ Max level characters: DAoC, SWG, & WoW

    Currently Playing: WAR
Preferred Playstyle: Roleplay/adventurous, in a sandbox game.
