No This is a weak expansion imo adding 10 levels and a couple of new races=/ Where are the hero classes and the player housing? Where is the war the struggle and the sieges? WoW is going for the big cash grab now but they will get no more of my money.

*yawn* pointless assumptions ftl. If you say so, personally I think AOC, Vanguard, Huxley, and Warhammer will be the end of WOW....Thats if they all get released in 2007..
Of the ones quoted, Vanguard *may* take 20% of WoW's player base. Huxley? WTF is a Huxley? I know what it is, but it's a blip on the horizon and that's being flattering.
I don't think I'll return. Not because I think the game is bad becaue it isn't. It's really that I don't care for any of the classes at all in the game. They've never really appealed to me I found out from the time I played. There is nothing in Burning Crusade that has changed that feeling as well. If I don't care for the class I'm playing then there isn't any real enjoyment and as a result no need to play the game. I perfre more traditional classes but WoW most certainly does not have that even though they maybe have the names. Under those names there is something very different.
On the fence atm, basically because I saw an interview a while back (which I very much dought people read or remember) that explained 'how' Outland's World PVP worked: Basically it explained how when you capture a 'town' you have to build on top of that (ie build fight points etc) which makes it actally worth the pvp hassle, blowing up Hordies hard earned work will be fun :P.
Not to sound offencive to people but nothing is offically 'in' until TBC hits gold, it's all assumtion so far WoW 'as we know' is same old, same old, it's a 'good' game just badly done in places which can be fixed.. People say in 12 months 'WoW is dead due to X game' but I kinda think WoW's getting a good kick up the arse at last, perhaps it can improve? TBC may not 'be the answer' but at least it can be a step in the right direction
TBC is really just appealing to the hardcore 60's who already maxxed out Naxx gear and are itchy to become "more uber". The new races are nice and all but ok it's a week later and now my blood elf is back in the same ol' original content.
New classes would of helped a lot. Essentially making people "replay" the game from level 1. Which can be fun if the classes were made well. Instead Blizzard just gave each faction the other's faction only class. This is like slapping a bandaid on a knife wound.
After TBC comes out they really need to work on non-60 content. The 60 game (soon to be 61+) is overloaded with stuff to do, time to give the 1-59 people more content Blizzard! Obvious thing to do would be more instances of lower level ranges.
As soon as Age of Conan or Warhammer online is released its bye bye wow. TBC I will end up buying just to play with all my RL friends who are WoW junkies. I have warned em all WoW will be dropped and uninstalled from my puter and the disks ran through a shredder soon as I get into another MMO. No more lame whitewashed MMO's like Wow for me.

I bet $100 you are wrong... Put your money where your mouth is...
Now to answer the OP, I actually started playing again this month because I was to play BC. I stopped playing over a year ago and played 2 Allaince characters to 60 so this time I will play 2 Horde Characters to 70. I'm glad I didnt play Horde originally as the game really seems new to me now.
Nope just remember next december when they only have 2.5 million subscribers that i was the oen that predicted it LOL 2.5 million thats stil alot isn't it!
The expansion is the only reason i'm not ever coming back to WoW. I've spend at least 200+ hours raiding and I'll just have to do it allll over again. No thanks.
nah its not a good enough game for me to plop money down on another piece of software and resubscribe to be able to play the same basic game again as yet another alt
I had toyed with the idea awhile ago but then i recovered and came to my senses hehe
Agreed.... they delayed BC so long I actually came to my senses and realized what the expansion reallly meant to me.
1) I get to go back and level up my 5 level 60 characters to 70. Fun..(not).
2) I get to grind up some new factions... Fun..(not)
3). I get some new World PvP... well, since many of my characters are on PvE servers, I'm thinking... Fun (not)
4). I get to farm lots more gold so I can buy flying mounts at level 70... Fun (not)
5) My druid gets a new flying form.... at level 68.... Fun (not)
6) All that Tier 2 gear that was hard won from many hours of raiding MC and BWL (and a bit of AQ) ... worthless with the coming of new gear in BC... so i get to do it all over again... Fun (not)
7) I get to play some new classes and re-experience the game from their eyes... oh wait...no I don't.. Fun (not)
Can't always say never, I quit WoW once and came back 4 months later... but I blame that on a lack of decent new game choices in 2006... for now I'd like to think I'll avoid WoW going forward and am hoping for a game like WH or AOC to bring the fun back to MMO's.
Oh yeah, and to all those people hassling over the 30% number.... that was a prediction, not an assumption, fact or inside secret. I've been predicting that BC won't be release until March (hasn't gone gold yet, has it now?) based on my experience in software development. But its just a prediction... we'll have to wait and see how it turns out.

No. Im happy with EQ2, and it is more game than WoW will ever be.

Well, I saw the trailer yesterday and it's just amazing, before the trailer I wasn't very interested in buying it, but now I don't know. In fact when I was jogging in the gym this morning I said to myself "Why don't I buy it?", anyways I think I will be buying it if at least one of my RL friends buys it, plus the new races are very appealing to me; I fell in love of the *Draenei* in the cinematic just like I fell in love with the dwarf in the first one. So I really don't know... I will let the time solve this for me .
No way i'll return to this , horde bubbleboys?? alliance shamans?? LOL if anything this expansion will make me stay away more. besides i'm enjoying EQ2 i dont need WoW and it's immature freaks.

You are really in the minority with this viewpoint. Most people agree that WoW is good Pre-60. Its 60+ that is and has always been the problem. Mainly because it focuses on 20-40 person raids, and has little to no content for solo, small groups, pvp, crafting, economy etc....
The last thing Blizzard needs to do is mess around with content for 1-59. Thier downfall is the endgame, they should keep the focus on that.
Hahaha i left he game twice and will NEVER return again.I only gave it a second chance because i thought maybe the community became mature[not]and perhaps the game was cleaned up a bit. This was bout the same time there was the fiascal with the in game funeral being bashed, and truly showed what an immature community it has ,and more so that the immature people behind BLIZZARD didnt see fit to take any action. At minimal they could have least ackowledged the event was very immature and perhaps they could incorporate a fix for the future, but nope notta nothing.Easy decision for me to once again leave a very ho hum game to its immature player base.

Blizzard did incorporate a fix, it's called Horde or Alliance owned territories when PVP is optional for those that belong to the territory. Blizzard shouldn't have done anything about it as the player's that crashed the funeral are the ones that were playing by the rules.
You wont see me coming back to WOW or any other Blizzard games for that matter anytime soon. I know people will disagree and I am not here to argue but in my mind WOW was cleary advertised and sold as the casual MMORPG. The Anti Everquest (anti raid) if you will. Well it turned into a raidfeast with no alternate advancement methods. I have lost absolutely all hope that things will change for the better. The expansion looks to be just more of the same just with a sugar-coated surface after listening to many of the beta testers.
My guess and again its just my guess is that the so called casual content is just the 10 levels to reach 70 and its back to "normal" I hear that the arena pvp will have items on par with raid items but the people who will reach the top on the ladder to obtain these items will most certanly be the "hardcore" with already awesome gear. You wont ever see "Joe casual" competing for that kind of gear, he will be too busy still getting 1,2 or 3 shotted if he tried to play with the "big" boys. The 5 and 10 man dungeons will have good gear, my guess only on the toughest difficulty which will be balanced around already awesome epic gear. And so on, and so on. One last prediction...it wont take many patches before the next hard core raid dungeoun gets added, and after that a new 40 man.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me!
The day they replace hard work and grind with fun that is the day I will be back. I am paying to get entertained not to "work" I am already working hard in real life. Obviously and sadly WOW and MMORPG doesnt seem to be for my kind, hopefully War will change that....if not oh well I'll spend my cash on something else heh
I quit playing wow months ago but I'm interested to see how BC works out after all the hype is settled down. I'm optimistic about the new 25 man raid sizes and the world pvp. I have to say that Im not too concerned about making it to level 70. I tried the 'raiding thing' but got burned out on 40 man raids because they were more work than fun to me (and fun>work). I also wasn't at all interested in grinding for hours for faction reputations or the massive amount of "xyz resist gear" everyone insisted was necessary. (And it is for the most part, which is silly imho).
I agree with Brainy: Most people agree that WoW is good Pre-60. Its 60+ that is and has always been the problem. Progressively bigger and harder 40 man instances loaded with gear that is even MORE expensive to repair isn't what I would prefer. I liked their recent "Tier 0" approach where you could quest and collect to earn more powerful items, I wish there was more PVE content available to that extent rather than random drops from progressively more difficult encounters. I also hope for something a bit more unique in the encounters than a big cave full of completely scripted monsters and trash mobs. When ZG came out I liked the fact that you could pick the encounters you wanted and do them in any order. And one of my all time favorites was the Dire Maul tribute run just because it was different.
And as far as I can remember, everyone I know who has quit playing wow did so because they were bored with the lack of non-hardcore/raid content or because they were burned out on raiding. Of course it stands to reason that anyone will get bored with any game at some point, but from my point of view this seems to be something a lot of wow players agree with.
I suppose what Im trying to say is that I'm anxious to see BC, but if it is full of more of the same-old-same-old, I will keep looking for some other way to occupy my time.
