So 2007 is almost here. (Man time fly's) But anyways what do you think will be 1. Biggest Disappointment 2. Biggest Flop (could be the disappointment too) 3. Biggest Sleeper Hit. 4. Most anticipated. 5 Most sucsessful (besides Eve, WoW, and older MMO's, this is for the new ones) And any others you want to add.
Comments
2: Biggest flop: Darkfall (if it gets released in 2007. If not, The Chronicles of Spellborn)
3: Biggest sleeping Hit: Aion
4: Most anticipated in the general mmorpg community: Vanguard. My personal: Granado Espada
5: Most successfull: Lord of the rings online (because of its name)/ Vanguard: Saga of heroes
won't be released in 2007? There is very little else I'm all that
interested in, I think. Although, I'm kind of sort of almost
looking forward to Granado Espada, too.

2. World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade (not in sales, but in "newer, better" content)
3. Huxley
4.Warhammer Online
5. Toss up between Warhammer and Age of Conan
1. LoTR
2. Darkfall, if they don't add in what they are planning.
3. Gods and Heroes
4. AoC, Gods and Heroes
5. AoC, and WarHammer online, and I'll throw in Gods and Heroes
1. LotRO; It's obvious it'll probably disappoint even if it's a decent game because it won't live up to the books...
2. Darkfall...
3. for sleeper hit i have to go back and look through the list... It may just turn out to be Project WIKI (if aion isn't released...) due to it's graphic style and it's marketing as a truely casual MMO... It all depends on if game play is actually fun.
4. most anticipted by far is WAR... I can't go anywhere without hearing someone say WAR is going to be awesome and if i may quote them... 'pwn WoW hardcore dawg'(i live in NYC)
5. I'm giving this to AoC... AoC is part of a legendry franchise and looks to be a much better game by far than LotRO and since when has an M rating stopped immature people or kids from playing a game?
6. Biggest wish; RO2... I just hope it's released in english around 2k7 even if it's december 31st...
As much as i hate EA.The one thing EA wants is a serious rival to WoW and i bet like vivendi they are ready to spent big on Ads.
Basically as far as marketing goes i think WAR will get similar marketing as WoW.And within the general community of WoW and DAoC this is the one that could seriously dent WoW.
I think vangard will do well but i honestly will be shocked if it will pass the 1m mark, which i think WAR will easily do.
Asia is also a big market so aion might do very well there.
1. LTRO
2. Thrones of Chaos
3. Project Wiki (Sleeper Hits should be relatively unknown, it might do well in the 12 year old demographic)
4. WAR (Not mine buts its already overhyped)
5. Granado Espada (It's just so well done. 90% of computer users can play the game and it has several new and interesting ways to play)
Others. Ragnarok Online 2. It probably won't do well in the US because games of this type usually don't do to well in the States, but its just so polished and gorgeous its amazing.

1. Biggest Disappointment: LOTR. I'd love to be surprised by this one but given Turbine's track record...
2. Biggest Flop: Vanguard. There, I said it. I just don't think many people outside of the hardcore catassers are going to be interested in this one.
3. Most Anticipated: WAR. I'm still 50-50 on whether this one wil ever see the light of day, but I can see the buzz building for it. More than anything else out there, this game has the potential to compete with WoW. The big question is whether EA will stick it's greasy fingers all over the development and screw it up like they've screwed up every MMO project they've produced. If I were a betting man, I'd put my money on "hell yeah."
4.Biggest Sleeper Hit: Age of Conan. I don't see this one hitting the mass market very hard, but it looks like its going to be a good game.
5. Most Sucsessful: Age of Conan. That's right, the most successful MMO of 2007 will be a sleeper hit. The rest of the year belongs to The Burning Crusade. Sorry WoW- Haters. Judging from their newsletter, WAR - the only game I believe has the potential for large-scale success - is in such a state that, if it is released in 2007, it's going to be a mess.
I can only hope AoC will be as good as it looks, for it's probably the only game I'll be checking out.
Vanguard, I just can't take seriously.
1. Biggest disappointment? I'm thinking Vanguard. The hardcore MMORPG crowd is the one who goes into new games with the greatest expectations. I don't think Vanguard will be anything fabulous. In fact, I'm thinking many hardcore players will play Vanguard and remember what made them turn away from their old games to begin with.
2. Biggest flop? Darkfall immediately springs to mind. It's guaranteed to be a huge failure, if for no other reason than people on this forum claiming it to be the messiah of MMORPG's.
3. Biggest sleeper hit? Chronicles of Spellborn. A lot of players are hungry for a good action MMORPG. Of course, many more are happy with the standard MMORPG combat style.
4. Most anticipated? It's hard to say because the answer depends on who you ask. I'm going to say Age of Conan, simply because I think this game will have the largest PR machine behind it in the end.
5: Most successful? Age of Conan. Vanguard doesn't have mass appeal. I don't think Lord of the Rings Online will, either. Looking at Turbine's track record and the aspects of the game they're concentrating on, I believe they're aiming for this to be a niche game.
1. LOTRO. because it will never be able to please all fans and they are going with a fail safe, wowesque, or everquestesque if you prefer, system.
2. no comment
3. Tabula Rasa. it is Sci-fi, it is developed by one of the best developers ever and has the support of one of the biggest mmorpg house... and nobody know it exists Can't say age of conan will be a sleeper hit, everybody know that one.
4. Warhammer online. the warhammer franchise has been around for a while and it is much nearer videogames than conan. In addition, conan didn't have any recent happenings to back it up while warghammer has the dawn of war incredible RTS series, the mark of chaos game and the new rpg and tabletop versions, lots of hype.
5.Warhammer online/age of conan. for diplomacy, let put them at same place. tabula rasa a distant second. Vanguard will have success, but on a niche market. The game is too specialized to hit the big markets.

1: Biggest disappointment: WOW (Burnning Crusade)
2: Biggest flop: Darkfall
3: Biggest sleeping Hit: Granado Espada
4: Most anticipated in the general mmorpg community: Vanguard ,if the pseudo hardcore dopes grow up.
5: Most successfull: WOW Burnning Crusade, Vanguard: Saga of heroes, Insert latest Guild Wars expansion.
For some reason Granado Espada peeks my intrest. I think many of us are ready for something fresh.

1) Biggest disappointment: Vanguard COH - This game obviously has tons of money and expectations behind it. It's released and the worlds are almost empty of players already. I can see these players continuing to shrink as the year goes on. All in all, a huge disappointment for all the players who had high expectations for this game, and a bigger disappointment for SoE and Sigil.
2) Biggest FLOP: Chronicles of Spellborn. I have bad feelings that this game will go much the same route as DnL did when it was launched. Hope I'm wrong here.
3) Biggest Sleeper Hit: Lord of the Rings Online - because it will gain insanely more subscribers then almost anyone will have expected it to. It will also completely make believers of most of the Turbine haters out there, whether they chose to admit it or not.
4) Most Anticipated: Easily thos goes to Warhammer Online, but I think it will be delayed until 2008 sometime.
5) Most successful: for 2007.. this category will by far be Lord of the Rings Online. Turbine is in for probably a lot more success with this game then even they expect.
Thats my predictions. Quite a lot different then most predictions it looks like for sure.

Biggest hit either LotRO or WAR. Flop i'm tempted to say Vanguard mostly from the general opinion on this site and the fact that it's obviously cost a lot to produce. Sleeper i have no idea
