There any people who've never made it to max level?

Lol i must admit in mmorpgs i only make it like 20 levels and i end up quiting from boredom fo doing the same thing over and over again lol. I'm sure theres plenty of people out there right?

Edit: Yeh i change classes an then get bored of grinding up the same levels :D Specially with games like EQ2 theres sooo many boring bland classes and had to wait 20 levels : Just a turn off.

Never. AO I got to L115, In DAoC im in the late 30's. Both of these games I tend to pick up for a spin now and then.

I GM'ed a few skills in UO if that counts. Other games I've gotten to around 1/3 of the cap,

Ooh, come to think of it, I did get to Crafting L47 as a TT, in EnB, was one of the top crafters on my server too from launch. Though the second night I fell asleep while staring at the job terminal I quit. Boy I miss that game..

I never make it to max level on any game..  I usually get bored way before then.

The only game I didn't make it to max level and that I play at least 1 month is SoR.  (SoR is skill oriented, but to max skill in ANY if you prefer)  However, I didn't like SoR...(yet I play it 1 month, trying to give it a chance hehe)

If I like the game, I always reach max level....and beyond! (max AAs in EQ, the accolades in CoX)

well besides once -wow, made it to 60 becouse of rl friends and it also took me over a year couse of several breaks-

     i never made it

usually quit pretty early  regarding my lvl

Im more like the explorer type, i dont like to fight the same monster repeatedly i rather run arround everywhere,

watch what is possible and then quit when i think i have seen everythink besides some areas witch mostly

will be the same with just  a different lvl number

    Pi*1337/100 = 42

I got to /42 in Neocron in two months.

I got to 28 in WoW in 5 months.

Haven't made any reasonable progress in any other MMOs.

I made it to 60 in WoW.

And then I guess you could say I amde it to 50 in CoH, but really that was mostly exploiting. I made it up to lvl 34, farmed Krakens until 41, and then had somebody tank Ninjas for me til lvl 50.

The time scale went some like this:

    lvl 1-35: 8 months

    lvl 36-41: 3 days

    lvl 42-50: 4 days

    hehe

    Eternally mine,

    **raises hand**

End game doesn't really concern me. I enjoy the game and the communities in MMORPGs.

If I ever made it to max level, I would probably quit the next day. I'm not one of those ppl who play games over and over.

i have rarely made it to the max level.  i too, like the author,  like to try many different things and/or characters so that i don't ever get to the max level.  sometimes i don't want to spend the hours it takes to get the final levels because they take doing raids or some other thing that just is too much time for me to want, or care, to commit to.

Usually I get sick of the grinding and switch profs or just leave. lol I think I've only made it to endgame for one game and that was it.
  • MiNaAuMiNaAu Member Posts: 382
I've never reached the max level the main reason is because I would get bored of most games before even playing a few hours, some grab my attention for a few weeks but the only ones that made me stay the longest are Mu Online and Flyff, I've quit Mu after playing months of it (totally addicted) and reaching lvl300. I'm still playing Flyff and I aim to at least get to a high level ( at least 80).

Only two I've made it to max lvl is WoW 2 60's and SWG.  I switched profs so much in SWG I figure I hit the max lvl before I got my jedi.

Generally though I like games where you only get one char.  If I can have a bunch like in EQ2 or WoW, I spend the first month trying to figure out which class to play....
  • lorechaserlorechaser Member Posts: 124
The only game I've hit max level in would be SWG.  I spent all 250 of my skill points.  But even then, I didn't do the full Jedi grind - I got my force sensitive unlock, I picked up a few boxes, and I left it at that.

I've been playing WoW since the first stress test, with a couple 2-3 month breaks.  My highest character is a 41 frost mage.  But, at last count, I had something like 48 characters, with a total combined level of about 650.

I've filled up 3 servers with 12 slots each on CoH, and have 1-2 characters on 5 or 6 more.  My EQ 2 accounts were completely full as well.

Hell, I have 4 characters in Matrix Online, and 6 in Planetside!

I also dabble in a lot of MMOs, as you can probably tell.  ;)

I just enjoy new classes, new combos, new areas, etc.  I hit the mid levels, where the grind kicks in, and I find I'm not having fun, so I jump somewhere else.  Then I come back, and pick up for a bit, jump around, etc.

I find that it really helps, as I'm not burned out on any one MMO, and have no real hatred of the end-game that seems to come naturally.

    Who am I?
    @Lorechaser on CoH
Badjuju, Splinterhoof, Plainsrunner on WoW (Moonrunner)
    Shyy'rissk on SWG (Flurry)
ClockworkSoldier, HE Pierce, Letnev on Planetside
    Gyshe, Crucible, Terrakal on DDO
    And many more.

For me the first impression about a game determines if I am gonna continue playing or not. Games that has very interesting tutorials/starting areas/storyline or lore will keep me playing for months or years to come and I usually max out my character(s). Games that are very tedious, boring or simply uninteresting or doesn't really piqued my interest will probably not last in my hard drive for more than 24 hours. Yes I'm a very picky and jaded mmo player (been on the mmo/online gaming scene for close to 12 years).

Present! I don't think I've ever made it to max level either. Of course, the only game I really talk about is AO so I guess it isn't too suprising.

Your sig is from AO.. which isnt surprising.. LOL

I was a Master Architect in SWG but apart from that the highest I ever got was a level 39 Dirge in EQ2. PLayed on and off for almost 2 years but kept rolling alts as I get easily bored with a character after a few weeks.

I anticipate hitting cap in DDO but that'll be more of consequence rather than a goal

Only MMORPG I maxed on was Guild wars .  But, I did make it to the max level on Diablo II battle.net. Level 1-73 in 3 1/2 days. I was on the Eastern ladder for quite a bit of time.

Quit Anarchy online at lvl 29

Quit Lineage 2 at lvl 34

Quit City of heroes at lvl 38

Quit City of villains at lvl 5 (level 5)

    Quit Horizons after 12 hours.

I think i made it to lvl 12 in guild wars.

The only two games I can claim I made max level was Ultima Online (wich was skill based really) and WoW (two lvl 60 warriors).

    I'M A QUITTER!

dont think iv ever made it to max level.. only mmo iv ever really played long enough to max the level in is SWG Pre-CU or UO but they are just GMing skills.. and in SWG i was too busy having fun instead of grinding for jedi.

quit WoW, EQII, GW, RF Online, EVE Online all before the end game.. only one id go back to is RF Online once the server merge.

think i quit them cause they arent sandbox.. hate being stuck down one line. if i can see a place in the distance i want to be able to get to it otherwise i get bored quickly (but this didnt seem to bother me in RFO).

The only mmorpg i got max level in was also my first. DAoC. (oh and guild wars. teehee.)

Lvl 50 armsman and a lvl 50 champ on pvp server .

The rest just didn't measure up...

    Planetside - 19

    Ragnarok - 60'ish

    CoH - 22

SoR - 125 in some skill

And the rest of the games i played i quit after like a week. (or were unmaxable like Eve, ATITD)

I've been an eternal lowbie because I just can't stick with a game that demands so much emphasis on the level treadmill. Until I see a real proficiency/skill-set MMO [besides UO] I think I'll forever float in the aether between MMOs with only randomly stepping into the level treadmillers for a little bit of fun once in a while.
