Over the decades one might notice their shortcomings becoming apparent, and in gaming that can relate to injuries.

Seems fps gamers have wrist and shoulder aches from draging that targeting mouse all over the pad, and mmo types have mashed finger tips from excessive poking the keyboard (3 keyboard, 2 mice and 1 headset destroyed here.)
In addition, seems i have put on an extra 15 lbs possibly due to lack of outside sports/exercise, gota stash that next great piece of loot! And my lounge has a perm dent that has a mild aroma of @ss. But at least i know i have the endurance to sit in one place +10 hrs straight, no small accomplishment! Could that be like wage-workers that can stand constantly 10 hrs straight, no way i could do that...

    • The wire to my headphones is extremely long, so 80% of the time, when I stand up it gets caught between my big toe and I end up falling over.
    • I walked behind my beanbag once and stuck my toe inside a pepsi can, slashed the side of the toe.
    • I'm convinced I have RSI, but sometimes the pain just vanishes... really weird.
    • I too have put weight on, not much, but it's something for me. I tend to find it difficult to put weight on.

    That's about as worst as it gets, there's other stupid stuff.

    As far as equipment goes: 3 sets of  Aiwa heaphones,  2 mx300's, 3 keyboards (spilled a drink on all 3 of them,) one monitor stand.

    Physical injuries? Besides a general feeling of worthlessness and lethargy after a long gaming session, I don't think I've ever hurt myself.

    This isn't really an injury, but a lack of one. My friends and I noticed something wierd about me last year. I have wrists of steel. I've gamed for literally 3 days straight before at lan parties, I've gone weeks doing nothing but gaming (when I have off time, I have a lot of it). However, I've never gotten carpel tunnel from gaming. Some of my friends that are about as hardcore as me actually have gone to the doctor for carpel tunnel, and have perscription pads that they need when they know they'll be gaming for awhile.



    However, oddly enough, all this carpel tunnel seems to come out when I play Guitar Hero. I play only on expert, and after two songs or so, all the pain finally exacts its revenge on my wrists. This typically happens only with Guitar Hero 2, though, as it has faster songs with more notes.

    One time I was sitting on my computer chair playing world of warcraft, I was sitting on my leg(as I normally do) and went to adjust the way I was sitting and damn near pulled my leg out of its socket.  It hurt like hell and I could barely move it for a few minutes.  I also have a callus on my left ankle from constantly sitting on it while I sit at my computer.

    Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.

    Nothing physical I can think of at the moment. Actually, when I started MMO's with SWG almost two years ago, I lost a little weight I had been trying to get rid of for a while.

    So, gaming may have been benifical to my health!

    My gamers injuries:

    - Neck, it is quite bad.  I dunno what to do with it honestly, but I won't stop gaming.  It might not be all related to gaming, but long exposures in a substained position doesn't help.  Worst moment of the day: Waking up, especially if I eat some particuliar food, which lead me to believe gaming is only a part of the reason in this problematic, since eating matter a LOT while the fact I actually play or not computer on the last day doesn't seem to matter, yet I am pretty sure it add up somehow.

     

    - Wrists, but that is minimal.  I developp ambidextry and switch arms, so I might be using right or left hand on the mouse, the other on the keyboard.  It affect my performances however.

     

    - Psychological: Everything is linked to raiding!    I wouldn't be surprised if by 70 I go nuts and start a death squad to infiltrate a raiding-design headquarter and plant something I would think is nasty when I am completely nut, now, that is all extrapolating assuming that all MMOs keep enforcing raiding up to when I get 70 or so.  Can you see that, a l33t elder striking from shadows and stalking on lazy raiding-designers?  Yeah, I tell you, it is coming there, eventually!    I am right, I know it, yet the fact they keep wronging me by enforcing lame raiding in every game they do...they are going to get it, eventually!   HAHA TOP NEWS 2040:  An elder who manage to sneak in Sony International Design Entertainment 2040 slices his defection bag open over the head of the lead designer Brad IV, spoiling the warm brown content all over his office, including his precious reserved of BBQ doritos and mountain Dew; it is unknown if anyone would clean it up or just get rid of the precious material!  How the elder manages to sneak past the heavily guarded area unoticed is unknown yet, but Sony is investigating into the matter!  Rumors has it that the guards where helping the front desk with the redecoration involving gifts received from an unknown admirer earlier that day.

    To the hardware, I've gone through countless anything; remotes, keyboards, mice, headsets, you name it, I've broken it.

    The only real physical injury I can think of is, whenever I'm playing halo with Vampiress, she tends to bite my shoulder every time I kill her. And, as aggressive as I play, it really starts to hurt after a round or two.

    Not as hard as I dd before.  Ooh, and I've almost passed out playing DDR for hours straight, but DDR is kinda a geek thing, isn't it? I feel odd

     Well I gamed for a like a week straight, got severe migranes, had to go to the hospital. Doctor was really worried because he said I might have an Anurism, thank got thats not the case though lol. But other than that, a few stubbed toes, one broken from kick my comp desk, and sore neck. Thats about it lol. I'm accident prone.

    Hehe I remember one time playing onimusha on the xbox.  I was at the last level of this minigame to get the best sword in the game, and the last mob killed me.  I tried all day to get that sword, and the last easy mob killed me.

    So in a furious rage (Blood pressure was extremely high)  I took my xbox controller and swung it around making it hit the floor, the bloody controller smashed my foot around the 2nd swung.  Hurt like hell for the whole day.
