I trust the devs in this since ive been in beta since the begining of 2 and have seen the vast changes the game has made. This alone shows me there commited to making changes. If they werent committed they would not of had a dam near 2 year beta period.
I will preorder, play the game and have fun, im not a fanboy or a hater. I just like the game and hey If they don't improve it after release ill just play something else. If they dont improve it then its there loss man, Sigil is not a billion dollar company, they personally invested some 40 million into this game themselfs, so not improving on it will only hurt them. They cant just say well hey we will take this as a loss. Why because its all they have.
The "signal to noise" ratio for Vanguard is so low there's practically no way to discern if this game's any good at all. Since I'm not in beta, I'm really confused with all the vanbois, soe haters (myself included, at least a bit) and just pure trolling.
I mean, for example, there are people who call Van's graphics outdated and those who call it stunningly beautiful - screenshots look beautiful enough for me (for an MMO), but still. If people can't decide whether graphics are any good or not, there's controversy enough, no? At least that should be easy enough to decide, not to mention more complex stuff gameplay is made of - so yeah, I'm confused...
And I'm just looking for something new...looks I'll have to try for myself, either that or wait for AoC and Warhammer....and yeah if someone's got an extra beta invite I'd appriciate it - I'm european and as for fileplanet - well meh....
The ones that are telling you the all the bad things about vanguard all have one thing in common they all hate SOE with a passion , check out any thread on here and you will see mostly the same names bashing and highjacking ,trying as hard as they can to discredit anything about vanguard its quite amusing really
As someone who has never played a SOE game all tell you strait up the game is awesome and stunning to look at . oh and the first thing they will tell you is it takes a top of the line computer to play it lol sorry but it dosent and its running better every time i log on
wait for a free trial period or some reviews from MMO sites that you can trust, or pay your money and take your chances. You will notice most of us haters will suggest that you try it yourself, while the fanboys want you to plunk down money before seeing it, that should give you a clue right there.

If you have Station Access going, do you STILL need to buy an actual copy of the game for the cd key, and then your subscription fee is already covered? Or is it like SWG, Matrix, EQ1 etc where you just download the installer and play the basic game via the all-in-one subscription? (Still need to buy some of the newer expansions for SWG, EQ1 etc if you want them though I believe.)
Anyone know for sure?

Well thanx, I've already seen the amount of SOE hate here....and most of complaints are about "unoriginality" and "omg my uberrig cant runit 111!!".
So I think I'll steer in favor for Van - at least to try it. Because running juicy requirements game on a cheesy rig is like a hobby of mine. And I guess unoriginality can be described as familiarity also, heh. It just seems to me there's so much bias and hate going on I can't really explain it - not even by SOE as publisher - it is dark side I feel, yeeess?
Thanks for the reply's guys. Its helped me a lot understand this question and Ive been able to see where other people are coming from. I can see why they might need to rush it. Everyone needs to start making money right? But then I get to thinking....Sure the devotees of the game have replied here there gonna play at launch no matter and that I can understand, but what about everyone else? I heard a rumor that this game is the 2nd most expensive mmo yet to date. With so much money built into it wouldn't it be a waste to rush the release and have a bad release?
Have you ever had a good start in a race of some kind and your doing good the whole race. Even if you mess up in that race you still have tons of room for error as you got that good start. Now if you have had a good start then you probaly have expiernced a bad start too. When you get a bad start in a race you need to be perfect to make it against your competor's.
My point is that I don't want Vanguard to have a bad start. There gonna have to be perfect in the following months in order to even fill the servers. That is my concern. That is why I'm scared of them releasing it earlier then it is actually ready.
(P.S. btw PS3 has a blue-ray disc player which by itself a BR player costs as much as the PS3. Thats why Sony is losing money, but on a side note it was the same thing last year. They were losing money from the PS2. Sony is a huge company. One bad project in one field is not gonna make them bankrupt. It may be failing in North America but Sony has a very loyal fan base in Japan and its selling like hot cakes in japan.)
I don't mind paying for a product to improve and maintain it. However, with the amount of money in this game it should have been polished like no other and ready to rock and roll before released to the public.
I'll be playing the game at release, I think the game is very good right now, though I do agree they need alot of polishing. But then again I don't mind paying the $15 dollars a month to watch this game develop. But if your tight on money then I would suggest not playing it, because as of right now there are prolly more games out there right now you will get more bang for your buck with.

I think that everyone can agree the game is 100% BETA 1 state - and at the sake of not kicking the dead horse I simply want to say that every MOORPG that released in this condition ended up exactly the same - 6months down the line and the game approximates the retail it should have been.
I choose to decide where I spend my money, and having paid to play 3-4 betas I am finally getting a clue.
