I'm so glad I stopped playing. Coming back and reading one thread makes me glad that I checked the forums and hype about the game before I give SOE another $15 for looking in for a month. I was a fan for over 2 years, and then Julio ruined it. I went back to check in afterward, and didn't have anything to do in game anymore, it had all been done, there were no more friends playing, no more drama happening, it was just all deserted.
It actually makes me glad to see that SOE is continuing it's efforts to alienate the maximum number of players. Maybe if they hurry up LA will try for a sequel.
Julio doesn't say forever though, how do you know he's not talking about that particular period of the game? Is there even an MMO out there where the weapon that was the best in the game is still the best weapon a year or two later into the game? How often do you see an expansion have a catch phrase of "gain the best weapon in the game" only then to be replaced 6 months with a new expansion which also has the "gain the best weapon in the game" line? Most weapons get replaced with better stated ones as new expansions/additions come out, no matter what the game. Even Jedi aren't immune to that

You have a point in under normal circumstances, new more powerful items are introduced all of the time. But in normal circumstances MMOs don't have Alpha classes that take a tremendous grind to obtain. In normal circumstances, MMOs don't screw over a class of players that incidentally required the longest grind, invalidate years worth of work. When Julio's words are interpreted in the context of what those people did, it obvious what he meant. Everyone understood the nature of what they are doing. If anyone denies it now, I have to suspect their motives.
If SOE tries to wiggle out of now, they are just liars inaddition to being people that can't be trusted with your gaming time.
What SOE did to the NGE was morally wrong. SOE knew it and therefore tried to compensate. Admittedly the compensation was an insult, but some player took them up on it. The deal SOE offered was, pre NGE Jedi, we have hosed you, but if you stay in recognition of what we took away, you get to be slightly more powerful than unearned Jedi. Now I think its a horrible deal and I can't believe any pre-nge Jedi would stay. But many did. If SOE has even a shred of integrity, they would honor the deal they offered. Just as if they had a shred of integrity, they would have originally honored their baragain they made with pre-Nge Jedi. But of course they don't.
They simply don't give a rats ass about their players. TIme and time again SOE has proven they cannot be trusted. They didn't learn a thing from the NGE.
To be fair to SOE, they have been liars since back when they were Verant. I aslo feel you are being a bit unfair to SOE when you impy that they have 'even a shred of integrity'. SOE, as a whole, has worked hard to avoid terms like integrity and truth, to imply that they may have failed means you are not giving them their due credit.
Yeah I know, I know...I should have quit a long time ago...actually I did for a few months...first I stopped playing when the NGE came out, then quit altogether a few months later, but after a couple months, I started missing it and re-subscribed. Unfortunalety it took me about 5 minutes to realize it was the old game I missed, but then I started playing the forums. But now a few months later I realized the forums aren't worth paying for, so decided to quit again for good...my sub runs out at the end of this month...then I log in to find they once again screwed us over...and with the WoW expansion coming out in a couple days (what idiotic timing on $OE's part) it was pretty much the final nail in the coffin for me. Oh, and btw, the GCW grind is NOTHING compared to the pre-NGE Jedi grind, but that's a topic for another thread.

I quit when the NGE came out and had/have no urge to come back to the Abomination. I have an urge to play pre-CU, hell even the CU, but not an urge to give SOE a dime to play SWG:NGE.

I thought that the elder jedi were given the strongest crystal that you can get in the game for all there hard work so how is the new one stronger and what do you have to do to get it and where's the contact at for this mission?

It sux because it is cold elemental damage. so pretty much worthless since all it does is add a useless snare...the crystal is Windu's Guile, a dark purple crystal, but it does 20 pts more elemental damage than the elder's Obi-Wan crystal. It is obtained by gaining the General rank in the GCW, which takes about 3 months, since it's rank 12 and you can only gain 1 rank per week...but before you can do that you have to actualy play the game, which I strongly don't recommend.

Torres does not care about the fan base. You should just move onto a new game. With him in charge it will never be a game that amounts to the integrity of what Star Wars means to the "fan base". He is just another suit and tie with no idea how to really implement a true star wars game. He spins his words to Lucas Arts- its a real shame. EQ II is a far better game and uses the same engine.
Has George Lucas ever posted in SWG? If not I can see why. I have seen Torres argue with fans- his vision is wrong. But on a positive note the expertise system was done very well.
