wow is to easy... you get it done quick and then are left feeling empty.

Game like Vanguard you work your butt of to get high level and achieve things, takes months not days... and at the end you feel like you have accomplished something. WoW never felt that way for me.

There is a balance between extremely easy, and extremely hard but as long as you get the mix right its a great game

I played WoW for almost 2 years (quit now), it was never feeling empty. There is always something you can do.

Oh yea WoW is very easy, in fact, I killed Kel'thuzad and Sapphiron at the same time. Solo. I just kited Sapphiron to Kel.

The reason wow is boring is because it's just one big grindfest, you get to level 60, you raid and you pvp, it's empty because it really is empty... Vanguard has the extra stuff, the stuff like guilds and cities and houses and flying and things like that. And thats the most fun part of the whole game.

That's exactly what I want in a game... work. Especially since in RL all I get to do is play.

Plenty of games for you to play. There are so many games for the casual gamer!

See my whole problem with Vanguard is there is no reward for working your butt off. I feel even more empty then when I played other games.

What level did you get to in Vanguard?

Considering I play casual and as far as I can see, its going to take me a long long time to get to Level 70, umm it took me 1 1/2 yrs to get to Level 60. Why did it take me long, because I take my time with a game and play casually and enjoy all of the things in the game, plus I play other games (Guild Wars, BF2, BF2142, CS source, Half life 2 deathmatch, formally Eq2 (boring), formally Vanguard (really boring and badly coded game), Silkroad (not bad but not great but fun every now and then), old Warcraft 3 online, diablo 2 online, and about 20 other single player games from time to time). Sorry but Blizzard knows how to make a game stand out, their graphics may be cartoony (I would say more artistic not cartoony, low poly yes) and low polygon but it looks like a blizzard game and I like the graphics. If I want to play something a little more realistic I load up Oblivion for 1 or 2 hours and if I want to play something fantasy and blizz like I load up WOW or diablo or warcraft 3 on battle net and have some fun. Vanguard's chars look retarted when they fight and when they run, bad animations everywhere, nice looking world oh yes, they did a great job at that but otherwise a crappy game. Say what you want and enjoy your really empty game, its empty and lifeless to me so its not worth $50 and $15 per month.

A game must grab me a certtain way and Vanguard felt like Chinese water torture not because its too hard (hard is good and if you login to your toons in WOW and go over to the outland umm its pretty hard there) but because its got horrible looking chars, bad spell effects, lags like crap on a brand new 8800 GTX (I dont get that at all), bad animations and a boring card game YEY! fun. Whatever enjoy, that game will have probably at most 100 to 200 K subs, I dont see it doing well at all. Other games that may do well are Warhammer online, Age of Conan (I am keeping my eye out for that one, I am 30 yrs old and looking for a really mature game and thats got lots of mature stuff in it, though the little kiddiese might be playing it anyway), and Gods and Heroes.

I call bullshit. Show me a screenshot with your character sheet open that says level 36 with your character name showing and I will never post on this forum again. I have a feeling I'll still be around.

I'd like to see that too.

ya I deinstalled Vanguard beta the night before I got my copy of Burning Crusade.

The new content feels so refreshing, and is going to occupy a good chunk of time before hitting that level 70 mark.

Vanguard gave me something to mindlessly chew on for a week or so before BC came out, so I thank Sigil for that.

Call bullshit all you want, I don't care. I used my real info, etc. Since I've been playing a long time now in Closed Beta and I use my char name in other games so I don't want to expose that, especially since I'm saying things that may piss people off, even devs like Sigil.

I didn't even stir the pot on the official beta forums as I don't want unecessary attention.

Also I can find screenshots somewhere I'm sure and make up a bullshit story about it anyway, what does that prove?

I know what this does prove, the fact that you are willing to eat your socks if I am beyond your pathetic noobie levels. It's not that hard to get to level 20+ in 2-3 weeks time, it's not hard to get to 30+ if you've had months. Grinding those levels are long and boring but if you are truely a hard"CORE" player then you can do this blind folded while watching TV, just find a 2 dot mob and go to town. It's also was much much easier to kill stuff months ago, the whole balance thing was out of whack and still is as far as I'm concerned.

I don't want to make friends with noobs like you and help you finish a shitty quest I solo'd months ago, I don't want to listen to the stupid game chat. I want to play this game with people who know how to play and raid and solo shit that your not supposed to solo. I am a powergamer and this game does nothing for me.

Even if I am lying, which I assure you I am not. What difference does that make? How does me being level 36 change your outlook on the game or provide credability to my words. Your just full of shit yourself if anything I say can sway your opinion or somehow makes what I say valid and valuable. You are probably just affraid because you may feel the same way and if I am high level it's okay to side with me and confirm those feelings about this game. If that's true I feel sorry for you that you can not make up your own mind and have to be so blinded that you can't see your own feet under your nose.

imo FullMetalAlc has some serious character defining flaws lol. I try to solo unsoloable mobs and raiding is something I truely enjoy, but I am no Power Gamer as you say. I play games to escape RL not to replace it. I have been only in open beta since Jan5 and have not 1 charatcer over level 11. Why? B/c I choose to experience the game and leveling, rushing to max level really only lets you reach the boredom factor more quickly. As I have said b4 rather your a naysayer or a fanboi it doesnt matter we each have the oppurtunity to choose wheter to buy/play VG or not. Regaurdless of how much BS we here in favor or i destruction of the game.

That's just 10 levels and his guild focused on getting him to 70 specifically so they'd have the first to 70.

If you think VG won't have someone go 1-50 in a week or a few days you're seriously under estimating the MMO gamers.

Not saying VG is easier than WoW to level but VG is hardly difficult to level up. I mean how hard is it to sit and farm mobs endlessly or do quests... so challenging.

It makes a difference because it shows the depths you will sink to just in hopes that people will believe your lies and rhetoric. It's really actually quite sad.

Ordered my copy of BC last night.I get were sigil was trying to go with this game but between the steep system requirements and the game being very anti-casual i couldnt see picking it up.The thing that bothers me the most about vanguard is the very real lack of intrest in it.Anyone right now could go to fileplanet and download the game and play it for free yet i havent seen the main server break the high mark since the 12th of jan.You can argue that the 56k people are waiting for retail but i dont realy think thats a factor.

Microsoft love,em or hate,em saw were all this was heading and got out before they lost even more money.I only hope this forces companys to look outside the fantasy box and come up with something new.

there will always be people that powerlevel themselves and others in any MMO with a level based system.

yeah I heard about some guy hitting 61 by 2am (2 hours past midnight madness release) and i've heard about crazy hardcore gamers playing non-stop and hitting 70 already.

in my opinion it is their loss that they are rushing through the so-far-amazing content the Burning Crusade has offered level 60-70.

i actually turned off instant-quest text so I have the opportunity to read and enjoy the new story elements, lore, and depth of the new content.

New content in WOW BC is amazing, watch out for the Fel reavers, awesome stuff and after seeing how I soloed two quests and I am still on the first bar into 60 damn, this is going to take awhile, plus I only play here and there and playing the new Dranei and Blood elf chars as well. Let me tell you the artwork for the Dranei is incredibly fantastic, the blood elves are cool but a little on the disney pretty side, its cool looking as well but the Dranei area takes the cake really its that awesome. Too bad all of these people will be wasting their money and time in TELON (nice name sounds like a cream you put on your rump) while I will be having fun in The Burning Crusade. Have fun with your great looking world and Super Nintendo spell effects and animations (terrible I must say the spells and animations looks as if a 10 yr old designed them) and dead looking characters.

    LOL

Yeah flame on people whatever it doesnt matter because I dont give a crap about what you say.
