so i finally get into my first frigate, kestral. Go to a .3 system to kill some more lucrative rats. Engage my first cruiser and after getting it into armor i need to warp out casue my cap in drained. I pick a moon randomly, warp to the moon and land on a POS. GET fXXKIN SCRAMBLED AND MY SHIP BLOWN UP?? MF ......... DOES THIS TOTALLY SUCK OR WHAT ??? FxxK THIS ... I LOG AND MY EVE EXPERIENCE IS OVER. What a load of crap to have to go through only to be put back to square one so quickly. Well I was bored anyway and bringing up a new character really sux with all the massive amounts of training required to be able to do stuff and fit your ship properly.
Another thing that bugged me was that unlike in WOW where you can put up your entire skill tree at once and work out your character in EVE I had to build my character blind each step of the way. Forcing going back time and time again and then finally just setlling cause it get dam boring fast having to redo everything time and time again trying to put together a character.
33K online but loads of lag and much much difficulty logging on several times due to server lag. This was also really annoying when you have to pop in every hour or two to attending to skill training. You would think after 3 plus years they would have heard of skill queing by now. Still TOO many things that are NO fun and a pain in the butt and you are forced to do. My main account has been closed almost 6 months. I really dont' miss it and TBH it feels good to be out of the "spell". Sorry to those that profess your love for eve but the game sounds better when you are talking about it than it actually turns out to be when playing it.

Each unto their own Tom.
You sound really upset that you were killed in Low Sec. It was unfortunate that you landed at a POS. But since this is a PVP game and 0.3 space is PVP area. Why is it the games fault that you died?
I can understand your anger though as I was killed the other night in 0.3 space by a Player Pirate while Ratting. I never noticed him until too late and since the rat also had me targeted I went down pretty fast.
The skill system is one of the reasons I really enjoy the game. I don't like the idea of loading a tree as I tend to change my mind pretty often.
Sorry your experience was not good. Hope to see you back, if not enjoy the MMORPG that you end up playing.
I lost a faction fitted Astarte to a pos in low sec before accidently, shit happens.
And what you describe IS why we play EVE, It does not reward stupidity. While it's not stupid when you make a mistake like that for the first time, in your first frigate, since that would be a learning experiance 'cs we all know "NEVER WARP TO A MOON!"
Luckily the frigate cost only the time you spent fitting it and the time spent asking for ISK from strangers. If you had insurance you'll get enough to biuld another one. As well, you're actuall "first frigate" would be replaced with fittings for free.
Glad to see you were able to experiance something so many enjoy and are succesful with. Too bad there's only a rusty sppon here to feed you...

fyi: You probably want to be in a destroyer or cruiser to rat successfully in low-sec... you can kill a few spawns in a frig in .4 and below but you really need a destroyer or a cruiser to stand and fight them at all well. T1 frig just doesn't have the DPS necessary to take on the cruiser and battlecruiser spawns, not as a new player at any rate...

You just learned a valuable lesson.
Don't freaking warp to a moon.
Ah true. I try to keep that as a general rule anyway. In high sec, you can just warp to a station since you don't have aggression countdown for acts of war.
So learned lesson (did that several times X-D [Warping to Moon in LowSec is 9 out of 10 times insta kill]), get a new ship, and make some goddamn lvl 1 missions, those will you get some more money than trying to break LowSec NPC tanks ...
0.0 Ratting >= Level 4 Missions > Level 3 Missions > Lowsec Ratting > Level 2 Missions > Level 1 Missions.
However:
Enjoy

Spending 7 or 8 hours to get back to where I was doing stuff I don't want to do is a total bore. the game has changed and the ambiance of being in space is gone with so many people online. the days of feeling like you are in a vast universe are gone since it seems like you are tripping over people in every system you enter. warping to asteroid belts only to see more cans anchored there than asteroids is not enjoyable. flying around today the game feels "trashy", not beautiful like it originally was. there is a saying that less is more. As far as eve go I have come to the conclusion that is so very very true.
Now run along and join WoW again, which you apparently love.

Me and 8 MILLION others ... and still climbing fast. Ya the creators of WOW are the "stupid" ones. Har Har Har u a funny guy.
Do you also believe that McDonalds is the best resaurant around for the same reason?
I'm afraid that my criteria for judging a game is a little more sophisticated than "if it's bigger, it must be better".
But to each her own.

If by bigger you mean more popular, WoW isn't a very big game world.
Anyways, as for the OP, I have to agree, Eve is not for you. You have no dedication and quit far too easily to reach any decent goal. If it took you eight hours to outfit a basic frigate, you're either very lazy or autopiloting all over the place (very slow way to travel). You went into a dangerous place and died, thats how games work. If you want to learn a lesson, keep playing, if you're just going to whine then the Eve community is better off without you.
Yes McDonalds most certainly is one of the best restaurants in the world. They didn't become so successful from being a crappy restaurant. Your failed logic, "what I have is the best ...." may get you through the day but not most people. The seem to be two major groups that respond, thats that are all for eve and those totally against. Trying to have a discussion is almost impossible because with the "all for crowd" everything is perfect but then again one wonders why are they trolling here and not playing the game? More than likely they simply work for CCP and their assignment is to troll the different forums and put down anyone that has anything to say about eve that could be perceived as negative.
Erm.
Ha. Hah. Hahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaa!!!!
Eeee...
Sorry to hear of your experience in EVE. New people have got to remember a couple things.
1) .1-1.0 Is Secure Space. Even though there may not be Police in .4-.1, but Stations and Gates do have Guns and will shoot you if you have been hostile to somebody else.
2) skill training can be a hassle.
3) Unlike WOW, this is one of the only MMORPG that puts the game into the Users hands. You choose your own destiny.

OTOH, when I am selecting a restaurant its size is only one of a number of factors that I consider, and honestly, size is not all that important in my estimation. What is more important to me is the healthfulness of the food served, if its full of trans-fats and simple carbs, I'll pass, no matter how many people ate there last night. I consider the quality also, do they use the best ingredients available? Then I would consider taste, then maybe the atmosphere of the establishment, and on and on.
If any of those criteria fail to meet with my approval, I won't eat there. Period!
The same applies to MMORPG games. I have several criteria by which I measure a game, size may be important at some point, but if I don't like the game I don't really care how many people are playing.
So, you go play WoW because it has Oh, So Many People online and I will go play EVE because it is a game that is totally freeform, a game where I play my style of play rather than Blizzard's or Sony's.
Hope you have fun with WoW.
Fantastic, another success.
I would attribute it more to people's bad habits then the quality of the food
Kinda like the popularity of cigarettes....addiction comes in different forms....
If you're in a frigate and you don't know what you're doing, don't go into low sec. You will die.
It's a PvP game. And low sec is the open PvP area. People like to kill things out there. That's why they play a PvP game. Don't like it? Don't play it. I promise no one will miss you.
Oh, and that talk about EVE players trolling the forums to support their game of choice? Fu**in right. We like our game and we want to support it (although admitedly, some take it to the absurd). I think the bigger question is: why are YOU, who hates EVE so much and loves WoW so much, trolling our forums? Were you paid by blizzard to take our game down from the inside? Huh? Were you?
Of course not. That's rediculous. And so is the idea that anyone on this forum is payed by CCP to support EVE. We just like the game, and so we support it.
So, as I said, don't like it? Don't play it. And please stop trolling our forums. It's kind of irritating.
