    Just throwing ideas...

    - But the insect with heavy weaponry that are allergic to Goua'uld?

    - Mok, or whatever these high tech hippies in peace, maybe not playable, but would like to see them in some mish anyway.

    - Asgard, even if not playable, they have to be there...no?

    - Replicators...haha, I would love to play some/one/a part, but I would understand if not playable, yet have to be there.

    - Rogues snakes, such as Seth?

    - Some Goua'uld should be NPCs only, maybe even giving a reason why sometimes goua'uld players and humans might work toward the same objective (even if not in the same group), could lead to interesting cooperative gameplays, yet always competitive...defeating the enemy is a goal, yet not the only goal.

Haha, I would also like to learn more about the lore...as where humans come from in that world, how did they come there and evolve that way, etc.

I'd like to see Ori, and Wraith. But the only races they will have at the start are: Humans, Jaffa, Goa’uld and Asgard.  But to answer the question Ori would be a race i'd like to see in the game.

The Asgard are still  a big maybe the last to intreviews the devs have took asgard off of the race list.

I think they should pace themselves. Start simple (Earth humans, Jaffa and Goa'uld, say) and get that right, then start releasing the others one at a time as and when they feel they should.

I think the Wraith need to make an appearance (being the *new* Goa'uld, so to speak) if only to keep Atlantis from feeling ignored. Ori probably shouldn't be included as a playable character- they're just too awesome. Either they'd be completely unbalanced, or they'd need to nerf them ridiculously. Similar problems for replicators, although thats easier to deal with. Asguard should make an appearance, and so should Tokra, as they're both old show staples, and are totally doable.

One of the great things about Stargate as a setting is that they actually havea  liscence to write new races in as they like. There are humans on, litterally, millions of diffrent worlds in the Milkyway and Pegasus galaxies, so they can happily add in plenty of the shows other humans (Genii (sp?) and Tollan, as examples) and if in doubt they can just invent new human races as they go. Gives the game huge room to evolve and expand.

I read somewhere that Goa'uld larva will maybe be a playable race. So that you are able to switch host, and decide wether you want to be a tok'ra or goa'uld (or independent like Seth for example). I think thats a wonderfull idea.
I also think that Asgards should be there, but not be an open race option. More like Jedis were before in SWG. Or that you have to have a high level character to create a Asgard.
  • NigherisNigheris Member Posts: 70

I think the larval Goa'uld would be pretty cool, but I do not think that switching from host to host at a whim would be something to aloow to do when ever you feel like it, make it have repercusions.

Asgard, perhaps make them a race that needs to be unlocked so to speak (Like EQ2 and the Froglocks)

I would like to see EVERY race in the game that has been introduced to the show

I agree that at some level or another they gotta have everything that the show(s) have as far as races and technology or it's not gonna be the complete stargate experience.

Well it depends on if it'l be a faction type game of Humans Vs Others or just humans.

If its just one side, then I'd want character types instead of races, since everyones from Earth or an affiliated planet.  Each type has its own strengths and weaknesses.

Civilian: People like Sam, and Daniel.

    MIlitary: O'neal, etc.

Native:  Non earth humans.  Like Ronan and that guy who replaced Daniel for a bit who's name i forgot.

    Jaffa: Teal'c, Bra'tac, etc.

If its two sided (WoW like)

    SGC affiliated:

    Human, Earth

    Human, non-earth

    Free Jaffa

    Asgard

    Goa'uld:

    Goa'uld host

    Jaffa

    Unas

    other, possibly Human worshipper

Ok heres the deal the races the Devs have  confirmed thus far are the

    Goa'uld

    Jaffa

    Tau'ri

and the Asgard are a huge maybe still

Now some of us on the forums hope that each race will have atleast 3 faction

    Neutral, Good, Bad

So for the Jaff it would be like follows...

    Neutral = Rogue Jaffa

    Good = Free Jaffa

Bad = Slaved Jaffa or Loyal Jaffa rather.

The interview they had on the 23 of January for SGWs mentioned something interesting. The guy talked about being able to create new weapons and things. You could dismantle things and figure out the recipes to build them again. With that, I think it makes it necessary to have races like the asgard and the replicators. Humans specialize in explosive weapons on Stargate, the replicators are hackers so they could learn viruses to build and things like that. And the asgard have energy weapons, but are horrible when it comes to projectile weapons. Projectiles just happen to be the only thing that effectively eliminated the replicators besides the ancient weapon that oneil built. So they all have their strong and weak points. the Asgard even said in one episode that they would have never thought of launching a projectile with explosive force to destroy the replicators.

I think we will have those different races. I don't, however, think the Ori or the Ancients will be playable. That would limit interaction with humans, asgard, goauld, and replicators since the ancients won't get involved and won't let the Ori get involved. It wouldn't be good gameplay. One possibility though, is we might be able to play as the Pryors. Again, they're not all powerful, because SG-1 was able to make that radio emitter to limit their powers, but they might be able to specialize in organic viruses, killing enemies that way instead of with conventional weapons. There's my two cents. :)

The replicators?  That's the one of the 3 that COULD be a playable race in a perfect world, but I somehow doubt they are going to waste the time creating them as a playable choice not only because of their limited benefit/abilities other than sheer numbers, but also because of the fact that the replicator storyline in the TV show was the lowest rated period for SG-1...ever.  The people didn't find the replicators interesting.

When this thing launches, I imagine your choices are going to be human, Jaffa, Goa'uld, and the To'Khra...MAYBE the Lucian Alliance.

if your going by this..you can only imagine humans to be the only playable race as every other race is far more advanced then the human race...ooh and stop being such a game spoiler saying this cant be in and that cant be in...do you want the game to be fun or not?

I think that the Asgard should not be playable to legitimize the idea of the Asgard being a rare race.

I would love to see "The Nox" as a playable race, they would be a true nuetral race, while others can always choose the good or evil sides as they please.  Of course every race would have their throwbacks to balance it out of course, such as they have the gift of invisibility and healing, because of their  sheer neutrility, they can't kill anything, only superficial wounds or knockouts.

Gah, I think I would not like that at all. I imagine I would not be the only one to feel that way.

Awesome question, I would deffinately love to see some Furling action. But there are plenty of other races that should have a small part in the game if they cant become a base race. Like the people of Jonas' planet, or the remnants, It would be awesome to see or play as thed Unas, with their extreme raw power. Serakkin Warik's people whom SG-1 visit while the space race comences. Confronting the supersoldiers I believe would be fun. Visiting the planet which Harry Mayborn was king of  i would enjoy a lot. Also Visiting the scenes of awesome historical battles such as those at Dakara and the planet where Janet Frasier lost here life. Other races I would love to play as or see in Stargate Worlds are the powerful and noble Knox. Also other races I would like to see in Stargate Worlds are the: bedrosians, Optricans,  ohhh and The Breeders from the episode- The Other Side, also the advanced race of aliens known only as the Gadmeer, The stealthy Re'ol are great, Also the episode with Tangrea should be added and of cousrse the remnants of the Tollans.

(If you haven't noticed I'm a Stargate fan)

Those are pretty much as the kick ass races of being in Stargate, well I'd love to see more that I haven't remember so if you remember any post them , Bye and take care.

Agreed P90's are Awesome and Rule.

Well SG-1 certainly has enough races to play, i mean it started out with just the one and then once it got popular the show really expanded. Its funny how many different races there could possibly be, if you take all the main and the ones that only had a few appearances you should have a nice selection of races. Classeso the other hand

  • markaudettemarkaudette Member UncommonPosts: 49

I would like to see the Unas as a playable race. They'd be your typical tank class in the game. Just like the Goa'uld or the Jaffa.

Yeah. The Unas. That'd be fricking awesome.

And even if they weren't a playable race, it'd still be really neat to be able to go to the world that the Unas and the Goa'uld cohabitate together on.

And I can just about guarantee you that the Nox, the Asgard, The Asurans, The Ancients, The Furlings or the giant aliens on the episode "Crystal Skull" will never be a playable race. They're just too powerful.
