Because they can't get into a good guild, and doing Random arenas all the time can become quickly boring.

    Obnoxious crap game flamer.

people is quitting from guildwars because anet need to sell nigthfall and everybody is using the overpowered skills to get much rank for their guild or more fame.

The problem of the competitive spirit of gw is that it dont let place, sometimes, for fun, and everybody is using what they can to win besides the fun, so the people that likes to win but, prefers to have fun, is loosing their place.

I have played since it comes and almost then I got the same mates, the same guild, we usually are top100 or near, and with the new skill powering (everybode knows what eurospike is...) the gamegone boring, so perhaps anet dont care about this but if there is no online people, there are no sales: oh yea they got no fees but less people that will buy the next expansion.

So I think the answer is: Anet needs to sell more nightfall (that have nothing else than overpowered skills) so they are sacrificing the other aspect of the game.

I bought GW on release, played the beta's they ran and quit at level 14.

The game for me was completely and utterly soulless, being UK and only able to understand UK, meant it was pretty impossible to understand 95% of the chat that went on in the general areas, and it was just frustrating.

I reached level 14 via instancing with a couple of friends who also became bored, it was very quick to level and i realised that by the time i hit 20, it'd be within a couple of days and i'd have nothing to preoccupy my time.

Also not being able to change the interface (mods are fun as well which this didnt appear to have or cater for) really caused me some annoyance.

Plus as someone else said, i prefer to have a decent control of my character, which includes jumping. Coming from games where I can jump around (off rocks, small cliffs etc) it feels like i've had an arm removed and I missed it greatly.

Back to the soulless part, I found that I really didnt care about the game world, or the multitude of faceless folk running around.

All the characters look the same in the same kind of gear, and all the players who are level 20 look the same as well.

I didnt buy the expansions but I cant begin to think how bored some people must be, and even though I occasionally install GW again, it goes off within an hour as it really doesnt seem to  hold my attention at all.

I just dont think its my game, it seems too casual for me and games like world of warcraft hold a lot more interest and depth and things to do and achieve in game than GW.

Just my 2 pence on the subject

You dare say you have competence on this game and have won HoH, and you don't even use voice chat? I beg of you, go away before I start flaming.

i played Guild Wars and ive stopped after 1 year .... why? because i did all mission and when uve done all mission this is verry boring ... some of you will say creat a new char .... why create a new char .... i know everythings to do ....  why buying nightfall ? after few times we will have done every mission and it will be boring.  what i think about GW ->   wasting your cash

huldoric -> lvl 40 -> common member of LullabyLeague
    LaurentC ->lvl 26 -> Chief of Witches
    Kalonline for 4ever :P
    LullabyLeague and Witches FTW!

Oh noes, you had nothing to grind anymore and you stopped. Ever tried to PvP, or were you too scared you could fail against targets with a minimum intelligence to speak of?

It's AMAZING how Guild Wars opens up when you reach level 20. You have to finish the coop missions before you can truly see the potencial of this amazing game.

And that is no problem or should not be anyways because the coop missions beats about any game I've ever seen to date in fun and smartness. You really feel interactive to the world when you experience the great movies.

Sure, i think guildwars is a good game, and its good that its team based, but its WAY TO LITTLE you can do solo, and how did arena net fix this? they created the "Heroes"! wich mad guildwars worse! now, it's almost impossible to do any missions without nightfall, people prefer using the heroes intead of real players, so it's really not a "Co-RPG" anymore...its a "Use-the-NPCs-to-complete-all-the-missions Game" now. I still play GW though (i have 3 lvl20 and a lvl15), but its getting less and less...because i can't get anywhere. and that's about all i have to say >_<.(and i probadly will get flamed for this -.-)

Well... heroes are just better. In other campaigns, you could use henchmen in most places anyway.

Well from my experience most of the people I meet that quit GW would be those that got beaten too much by "n00bs" and therefore conflicting with their ego they get pissed and leave.

which I am truly thankful for as I don't  want to play with or against somebody that is going to whine all the time.

Have you actually played this game? Your statement mostly contain nonsence.

Been playing GW for 21 months, have 8 lvl-20 toons that have completed all

3 chapters, have multiple titles, including lvl-4 skill hunters, have seen and done

    everything GW has to offer.

GW is a great game, and my first on-line RPG ever, but lately it has gotten

dull for me, the only game I have played in that time, so I needed a change of

    scencery.

Nothing wrong with the game just needed to something new!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've played GW for around... a year if I'm not mistaken.

After completing all my 6 characters I ended up leaving since the game wasn't offering me anything new.

My gf still plays on my account eventually, but she's a noob tho =P
