To be fair RR is going through an unusual restructuring and sometimes things don't get considered. Although, the absence of someone with the ability to effectivly consider such things both worldly and in game design has always been a huge problem for RR.

I agree though Zorvan outside of this isolated event that the website being closed just adds to ever growing, massive chain of screw ups that illustrates the amaturness of Rapid Reality. When you compare this chain of screw ups with what Rapid Reality has to offer as anything  constructive, which is nothing more then some art work, unmet promises and one well overdo admission that the company line has been untruthful, you can't possibably have any positive expectation for this company.

The site's expiration is a direct result of the hosting not being paid.  It was paid for 1 full year in advance, at the end of that it ended.  When Adam Ghetti left, he took all his access codes to the Domain Registrar (at 000domains.com) and the Hosting (also at 000domains.com) where he originally registered and hosted the site.

Our repeated requests to retrieve this information is often met with unanswered phone calls or unreturned E-Mails, we've been asking for it for over a month now, since within a week of the change of management.

We've also contacted the host and asked them to send all the data pertaining to the site to the address the site is registered under, where the studio is still located, that way we may recreate the site elsewhere.

Let me expand on my previuos point.

1.) You had ONE person in control of your website.

2.) You got rid of that one person.

3.) You expected him to take it graciously and give you all the access to the site?

Point of fact, if you or someone in your company is not registered as being a co-owner of that website, they cannot release anything to you or the person who controlled the site (apparently Ghetti) can sue them. It doesn't matter what content is there, they don't have to give you that either. They just can't use it or host it.

Bottom line, recreate a new websirte with material you have (if any) and hopefully learn from what I'm sure many would consider an amateurish rookie mistake on you and your companies part.

I would assume you have back-ups of such things as users, pre-orders, etc..  If not, you're screwed .

I'd be very surprised if any back-ups existed, especially the fiasco with pre-orders.

That's not necessarily correct. There are laws that protect company's from exactly this sort of thing. Even if the websight is in Ghetti's name if Rapid Reality can provide proof that Ghetti aquired the websight as representative of Rapid Reality , then RR should be able to get any information they need. The problem I foresee, however, is that RR is listed as Rapid Reality LLC; there is no company named MMOcenter that I am aware of and that could be an issue.

Did Ghetti also take your  email accounts for the *NEW* site also? When I tried emailing this email addy (the only one I could find on the new site) : press@rapidrealitystudios.com I got my email bounced back to me. Do  you have an 8kb mailbox and you haven't answered the one clueless reporter asking for more info? WTH CG? Maybe you could keep winning contests here on MMORPG to be able to provide your office with all of the equipment they need.

Haha, hey there Remy. I edited it a bit for EvE, hence the 'Ichikai' bit. I think i'll keep this one forever, took me ages to do all the lighting, weapons, shadows and dodgy hair on that carebear rofl. :D

Wow. All I can say is this: do all you can to get back the preorder information. Mmorpg crowd is generaly passive agresive, but getting a good lawyer right now isnt a bad idea.
