I for one feel a bit cheated when I bought the special ed. box and got 3 months with a game that feels like its running in syrup and have items that do not even show wich slot they supose to go in (Quiver). The graphix on my machine who runs wow perfectly seem to be what a kid could make with disapearing playdooh. The story was suposed to be involving but as far as I have played seem to be the exact thing of I'm-to-lazy-NPC-to-get-my-waterbottle-on-the-table kinda quests. The ONLY thing so far I have had any fun with is the Diplomacy, only tragic is that it's a bad version of all RL cardgames I've played. Think I will follow the advice and get my account in stasis until things clear up. All sounded good here on MMORPG.com when they made their comersials here but now when really trying it I feel cheated.

I'm a lumberjack and I'm OK I work all day and I MMO all night....

I can honestly say since i started i have only noticed a few bugs

    1) Doors half open and Half closed, triggering makes them move  (reported)

    2) Quest didnt complete correctly by either awarding me XP or the reward i was supposed to get (reported)

hmmm that seems to be it, not bad for 5 days of play since launch, All in all less bugs than i deal with in work on a multi million pound network installation thats ahs only been up and running for less than a year

If you dont wanna play then dont play, if you wanna play then play, but dont ever listen to someone tell you you cant play!!

I got in beta 5 like 30 days before release. I looked around for a few days and thought, there is no way this thing is ready for retail and it still isn't obviously but all the fanbois were saying oh just wait its beta, its only beta, Sigil will fix it all before release  they haven't even come close to fixing all the issues.
Sigil deserves to flop for pushing this out when its so far from complete.

Its because they are just SOE but under the name Sigil as a cover, their buisness practices prove this.

I still don't get why this is even remotely acceptable in the MMORPG community, if Vanguard was a console game I don't they would have released early. /shrug

It's not SOE's fault, they gave Sigil a 2nd chance. If they stuck with Microsoft they'd be forced for vista only and make a 360 version :P If they stuck on their own then they wouldn't be able to publish it to boxed and would have to release like over a year ago.

SOE gave them a chance and made the game better and gave them another year or so as a result.

THe game has to be released sometime and it's Sigils fault for developing a crap game.

Yep, it's Sigil's fault for spending a majority of their dev time with Microsoft eating cheetos and playing Battlefield 2.  That was 8 months of could have been progress flushed down the drain.

Stop making excuses for shoddy business practices and accepting them.  You can make a difference. Cancel and tell Sigil and Sony you will return when the game is working.   Or you can keep on paying and let Sony continue to reap the profits of producing bug-filled games.

Seriously just go back to WoW, your comments are extremely ridiculous, why the hell would i cancelle a sub for a game that i enjoy playing? O because some WoW fanboy who apparently doesn't even know the difference between reading about the bugs and playing the game and actually experiencing them. I have only experienced one bug since launch, 1 bug! and thats the mobs sometimes disappearing then randomly reappearing, thats all. And i have infact seen that very same bug appear in WoW and other mmos on several occasions. So what we mean by "a few bugs here and there", is that when we play we only see a few bugs here and there if any. So please just leave Vanguard alone and go back to the game that you so obviously adore.

o and btw, im not making excuses im just giving you MY opinion.

In Vanguard I've seen 2 bugs since I've been playing since release.
    In WoW..Dozens. including..
Falling through the world on several occations.
    Glitched animations.
Mobs I couldn't attack yet where beating the crap out of me.
Mobs that just stood there and let me beat on them.
Getting stuck in objects in the world. (rocks, trees, etc.)
    Broken quests.
    My combat abilites not resetting.
    NPCs being invisible.
These are just a few of the bugs I've personally seen and reported during my time in WoW.
The point is nothing is perfect. Anything made by humans will always have its issues but, in the end having fun is what matters. For me I am having A Lot of fun in Vanguard.

I was experiencing almost all of those bugs when open beta ended.

Every time I recalled to the queen i fell through the floor and was stuck under the building.

Mobs attacking from about 60 feet away and disappearing.

A lot of the quests were still broken both crafting and adventuring.

I have no delusions about any MMO having a perfect launch but Sigil knew the game was not ready and the launched it anyway.

I would never defend WOW so please don't misunderstand my reasoning for quoting you it was just that I was still experiencing those things when Vanguard beta ended and when I read your post I had to laugh and reply

That was open beta are you playing after release cause if your not the game is awesome ive seen very few bugs myself alot less than any other mmo ive ever played I guess some of us can deal with a few minor bugs and some of us cant personally i would pay sigil twice as much for there game as i would pay for blizzards buggy piece of crap

Hate to break this to you but the vanboi's were right....

How bout you try the retail product so you actually know what your talking about, no?

Oh, and personally I would say that Vanguard launched smoother than WOW.....

Here is a snippet from the 2004 Dec 21st patch notes of WOW, this is almost a MONTH after release! (i was looking for an earlier one that I remember had a TON more of bug fixes but i could not find it):

Dec 21 2004 WOW patch notes

    Bug Fixes

    - Rolling for items in the French and German will now work properly.

    - Resolved an issue with looting in click to move mode that could cause crashes.

    - Performance issues occurring with certain CPUs have been resolved.

    Bugs Fixed

    - A bug with bandages has been fixed. Previously, only the lowest rank bandage (Linen Bandage) was working correctly in that it brought up a channeling bar and required you to remain still while bandaging. All of the other bandage types (Heavy Linen through Heavy Runecloth) were working incorrectly, but have been fixed to operate the same way that Linen Bandages do.

    - Cenarion Vindicators no longer summon Forces of Nature as quickly.

    - Severed Dreamers no longer summon Nightmares as quickly.

    - Several elite creatures that were missing their elite tags have been fixed.

    - Will of the Forsaken is no longer grayed out on the action bar while you are fleeing.

    - The Emerald Dragon Whelp will assist you when summoned.

    - Aquatic creatures will no longer eventually teleport to you if you harass them from land.

    - Undead players will no longer be invisible when they first log in after watching the intro cinematic.

    - Fixed the rotating animations of the crystals in Un'Goro Crater.

    - Reginald Windsor's yell can be heard during The Great Masquerade.

    - Kodos in the Barrens will no longer stomp incessantly while in combat.

    - The Ward of Laze is now summoned at a more appropriate level, instead of level one.

    - Some elite creatures in outdoor areas of the world had higher than normal experience modifiers, and were corrected to award the proper amount of experience.

    - Rare creatures in many of the higher level outdoor zones will now use their appropriate combat abilities.

    - Autoloot has been fixed to work with skinning.

    - Fixed durability display on vendor buyback items.

    - Some creatures in the outdoor world had much less armor than intended. This has been corrected.

    - A bug causing war stomp to not affect some targets within melee range has been fixed.

Add all that to ridiculously long server queues and id say Vanguard is lookin pretty good..... I mean, theres nothing more game breaking then having to wait in line for HOURS just to be able to play... you can accept that but when we have the rare dissapearing mob as the most game breaking thing in Vanguard, you refuse to buy the game........................

I dont follow the logic here sorry.

I think most of the people who are complaining about bugs and problems were playing in open beta and telling themselves, "This isn't ready." Well, they were right. It wasn't. Most of them quit right there, assuming that they were playing the retail version.

That is where they were wrong. So very, very wrong. During the last week of open beta, they fixed an amazing number of bugs and glitches, and even updated those combat animations that everyone was complaining ever so much about.

As of now, the game plays great, and the number of bugs is minimal. Also, there is extremely little downtime and the servers are remarkably stable. This in particular is something no one can say about WoW. Remember how they gave everyone 4 free days? Yeah, that was because of the incredible downtime and queues. Four days. Even if you encounter bugs that prevent you from doing a quest, at least you can play. You couldn't say the same about WoW.

I can make a list of the bugs I've encounted post-release.

One broken quest. The NPC I have to find spawns in an unreachable location. For this I simply did other quests, as there are many to go around.

Enemies will occasional disappear from combat. When this happens, they will still auto-attack you, and can use beneficial spells on themselves. Similarly, you can only auto-attack them, which can result in almost certain death if you do nothing about it. The fix? Come on, it's so easy. Move out of range. The monster will be forced to come closer to you, and will reappear. Wow! So game-breaking! They'll have this fixed soon, I'm sure.

In one room with an elevator, other players do not visually get off the elevator. This is the problem they mentioned in this update. It's extremely annoying, but at least they acknowledge it and post that they're working on it.

And another thing. Why the hell did MMORPG.com post this here? I don't see them posting WoW's patch notes. Are they trying to give haters something to bitch about? Cause that's sure what's happening.

If you had a option, release or go bust what would you do?

Would you throw a bunch of years down the drain for something that you know is going to work better every day from launch?

And dont fu_kn lie to yourself now:P
