Free month is about up. What's your plans now?

I'm at the point right now where I'm really struggling to decide what I'm going to do after this free month is up.  The game has been really fun to play, but the I"m not sure if the fun has outweighed the headaches, bugs, performance issues, etc.  I haven't made up my mind yet about whether or not I am going to continue to subscribe at this time, but I'm a little curioius to see what others are planning.  I intentionally did not add any references to jumping to other games because I'd like to keep this focused just on Vanguard.

I have cancelled for now, pretty sure I will keep an eye on this one though and return when the game permits.

Computer is almost 3 years old and can not really handle it, allthough it was pretty top of the line back then.

I am having fun when it plays well, wich is mostly when I am alone somewere, wich kinda defeats the MMO purpose.

Game has everything I ask for in an MMO, except playability, wich of course is a big one.

Time will tell and I really do hope they pull this together.

I'm going to watch this title as well. The game has a lot of promise, but the bugs need to be squashed. In fact they should have a quest, that goes something like this:

Kill 'X' bugs, return to developer, get loot. Kill 'X' more bugs, but with a different color and slightly different name, return to developer, get loot. Rinse and repeat...Can you dig it?

I canceled my account as well. I like the game but i just cant aford to pay for an unfinished game. And by the time they get this game fixed ill prolly be playing some thing else .

And for the people who are gonna tough it out, I wish you much luck, i hope the Devs get it fixed for you quickly!

My account is canceled, but it's nothing to do with Vanguard. I do that for any game where I can't get a game card. That way, should something happen, and I lose my internet, I'm not going to get charged once my month is up.

As to whether or not I will continue to play? Simple enough. When I find I'm not enjoying myself, I'll quit. Or if when one of the other games on the horizon comes out, if I enjoy it more, I'll move on to that game.

While I'm sure the issues some people are having do exist, I really haven't run into them, other than the poofing mob thing, and that's easily remedied by moving. Maybe I've just been very lucky, I dunno.

So far, I've run into a multitude of bugs on a daily basis. I've crashed here and there, logged in twice yesterday dead, died a lot of other times due to bugs (stuck in geography, etc.); but all and all I've found it quite possible to play the game navigating around buggy and incomplete content and reasonably enjoy it.

I think I'll stay subscribed and continue to play that way, unless the amount of bugs increase rather than decrease for me as I go on.

What's really going to challenge my subscription to Vanguard though is whether or not I'll play it when another quality MMO comes out this year. So far, I'm pretty sure I'm going to quit the moment one does.

Already cancelled and haven't logged in for more than 5-10 minutes in a week or so. I enjoyed beta some, had a few good times the first 2 weeks of release, but suddenly hit a wall where I realized I was kidding myself into thinking it was fun. It's not. And beyond being a slow, dull grind, there are just too many broken things to deal with at the moment. It's not worth it, and there are many games out there that are far better implemented than this one. I had talked myself into the idea that I was getting a new EQ1, and realized that what was delivered to me was EQ2 with corpse runs and diplomacy (which is broken for my main character at the moment, making it impossible to advance :D ). No thank you- I wasted 50 bucks out of poor judgement, and that's that.

Im afraid I cancelled, dont think i will be coming back. I found it quite an average experience to be honest, occasionally mediocre.

I'm subscribed for 3 months after this.

But the free month isn't over until march 2 I believe.

Canceled and will not try again till I see a patch that say they implemented new models/ new spell effects and the 2 races that we are probably not going to see for a year. Gonna give LoTR a try but not holding my breath ever since this little incident with vanguard.
  • I have not really cancelled it - I have the Station Pass, but I can certainly say I will be spending a lot less time in it for now. I will keep checking in, but until some of the issues are addressed, I probably won't play more than a couple hours a week.

I gave up before the free month is over but that's not to say I won't check back in a few months.

Tie on a few more levels, build a house, then a boat, explore, level an alt, work on crafting, develop the guild I'm in, build a guildhall, get a flying mount (hopefully a dragon)  work on diplomacy, build up faction in other continents so I can learn their crafting styles and probably whatever else I feel like

Well I am in it for the long haul, yes it has bugs but I see so much potential in this game and I really love what I see so far. This game is only gonna get better.

I can understand where some peeps are coming from as some of the bugs do get annoying at times but to me they arent game breaking so I will be here.

Out of every 100 men, 10 should not be there,
80 are nothing but targets, 9 are the real fighters.
Ah, but one, ONE of them is a warrior,
and he will bring the others home.

SWG refugee - Best game ever.  It was in the first year.

SWG refugee are now, a good deal of em, SOE haters.

Why were they able to get past all the SWG bugs (even 2 to 2 1/2 years after release), unfinished state and all (i played SWG from beta 3 and i still own my account... jsut don't play)?

But for VG argh!! it seems so hard...

Just wondering... it might be because VG is fantasy?

I think I'll go month to month.  I don't think there are really very many attractive options out there at the moment.

    SWG=nge=dead.

EQ2 is boring for some reason.  I've tried playing several times but never can seem to get very excited about it.

COH is fun for a month but then boring as well.  It's just same thing over and over and over.  Plus...I'm not a real big superhero type fan.

WOW: cool game, but I've been to level 60 and had numerous alts, but ultimately endgame is unbalanced pvp and raiding is boring.  I have lots of time to invest, but standing around for 2 hours in a dungeon while everyone gets organized...I just don't have the patience for it.

Vanguard has creature mounts, a vast world, flying mounts, player housing, nice graphics, etc.  Nothing else compares really.  If precu SWG was around I would play both and decide, but precu swg will never be again.

So, Vanguard FTW, unless something else comes out that is better.  Not too impressed with LOTR at the moment, unfortunately.

I recommend staying on for a few months to see how things go. Honestly, they need as many subscribers as they can get at the beginning so that they can hire more devs, fix bugs faster, etc. They had to release early because they ran out of money (From what I've read, at least)

I will probably stay on for a few months, I'm having a blast playing with my old EQ2 buddy.
