I've been reading ALOT of posts on ALOT of websites about LOTR Online ... Ive been researching this bc I have recently Preordered LOTR Online ... But my question is this ...
I read all these reviews and see all these comparisons to WOW & EVERQUEST ... etc ...
Wheres the comparison to FINAL FANTASY 11???
Are people afraid to mention this game? Is this game unspeakable?
My worry is this: Ive been playing FF11 for 6 months now & that game is ABSOLUTELY amazing!!! ...
Am I going to be disappointed considering my love for FF11 bc i dont want to purchase a game that im not going to play.
I like FF11 bc its not something I will complete in a month or 2 ... this game could take years to get through ... i mean dont get me wrong, i feel that some of the "waiting" period in FF11 is a lil too long at times but at the same time i dont want a game that can be beaten in 3 months ... that defeats the purpose of an MMORPG in my opinion.
Is the enviroment in LOTR in comparison or is this world super small like ive been hearing? Is LOTR a game I will complete quickly or will i have to invest some time into it?
I just needs some detailed facts from people who have experienced both ... and not just a this sucks and thats good answer ... give me some "stats" ... lol
So for those of you that have played BOTH FF11 & LOTR Online, which game do u like better of the two? Some comparisons & pros/cons would be greatly appreciated ... pls pls pls let me know!
THANKS!
PS ... SIDE NOTE: let me know what you all think of LOTR in comparison to other MMORPG's like WOW and Everquest ... is LOTR better than these games ???
IF U DONT MIND PLS SEND REPLY IN MY EMAIL ... IF NOT, POST REPLY HERE

Second i think to be taken seriously you shouldn't do that.
Sharks.
Absolutely none, FF11 remains to be a unique MMO that no one has any intention of copying anything from it, F11 forces groups this often shunned and not repeated. After beta testing LOTR and if you love ff11, you will not like this game, it won't be your cup of tea. But you are welcomed to try it, along with anyone else, it isn't a bad game. It's just not what I was hoping for.

My all time favorite memory of FFXI was completing my Samurai quest. I don't know what I was about it but I just loved it. Going to different locations to get the items I needed to have my first sword made was a bad ass. Then taking them to the guy and and having to wait a couple of real time hours while made my blade. I really felt like a Samurai after I completed the quest. The quests to unlock some of the other jobs was great as well.
-Currently looking forward to FFXIV
-Currently playing EvE and Global Agenda
The things that we do, that is what seperates us.... At lvl50 there really isnt much there... but say a lvl75 RDM with full Relic and an E body... well you would be unique indeed... How you play your toon, what subs you use also make you very different... what merits and so on you choose....
I cant speak to much about mages but i can tell you this... on my server there maybe 2-3 drks that could say that they are "like me"

I don't think you've gotten very far into it. It's a degrading, dehumanizing experience... the economy revolves around mobs that spawn once every 4-96 hours (yes NINETY SIX REAL LIFE HOURS). I don't even want to get into it. It's an OLD generation MMORPG, too.
PS. Getting to a level cap is NOT "beating the game." in any game.

From your ignorant post, I don't think you got anywhere in the game. Further more if you just joined FFXI then yes you would have a problem with the economy due to how long the game has been out and what has been acomplished on each server.
I had quit FFXI 6 months ago for one reason and only one reason. The lack of content, yes I had two maxed jobs, WHM being my main, and the rest of the jobs in the 40s, 50s and 60s, I played since launch and loved every minute, but when you login every day and have to camp HNM with your HNMLS or sky runs, god runs, kirin, promy. Well you can only do it for so long before you just say, man this is god damn boring. The game is awesome and truely unique, the story makes you become a part of the adventure not just a puppet. Tons of quests, side quests, and huge amounts of areas to explore. I even stuck around to play puppetmaster, Blue mage, and Corsair. Will I ever return? I dount it, I don't want to repeat everything all over again. I think I'll just wait for SquareEnix's new MMORPG.
One more thing, camps made the game great and made it so once you had that HNM it ment something. It took commitment on your part and you may not have gotten the tresure your heart desired on that one camp, but you did, you out-camped everyone else and that is an acheviement in itself. I'm glad I went out with a bang, the final day I would login my HMNLS was camping KB (King Behemoth) and we killed it. And so my story ended as I disconnected and erased my character. I'll never forget the adventure I had and the people I had them with.
I agree with what everyone is saying ...
FFXI is awesome indeed ... everything takes time to complete and gives u a sense of accomplishment ... everything is very indepth and to say the least ... addicting!
But 1 thing i will say is things take TOO long sometimes in FFXI ... and i will say to an extent that things r getting a bit expensive to a point ... so yes over time bc everything takes SOOO long its does get boring sometimes.
So being that i grew up on Tolkien ... i figured LOTR would b my chance to experiance something new and captivating ... hoping it holds my attention as long as FF has but dosnt make everything SUPER time consuming ... but dont get me wrong, i dont want a game that is "easy" either ... my only concern was character depth and the amount of "tweaking" and adjusting i can do with my character as in FF with 20,000 job combinations ...
Based upon what ive read tho, it sounds like LOTR will b just as good as FFXI but in a diff way ... i guess i will find out when i do stress test & beta testing ... Look for me ... ill b there ... !!!
Cookie cutter Class/Level Grinders for the win I guess.
FFXI is just EQ1 re-hashed. Thanks... played EQ1 for 6 years... really looking for a game that IMPROVES on that template, not just re-hashes it with a better graphics engine.
FFXI's graphics also don't appeal to me. Then again the Final Fantasy single player game graphics didn't either. I hate anime.
Currently Playing: Dungeons and Dragons Online.

Still in: A couple Betas
O'rly.
How the hell can you even say this? Did you even play it? The combat engines are completely different, It's a real time turn based system. EQ1 is real time and doesn't force groups. Do your research next time fool.
