I have also been called racist, because I dont believe in mixed marriages.  I have also been accused of being anti Gay, because I dont belive in Gay Marriages.  Lets look at the conservative past, just to refesh some of your memory.

    1. Emancipation Proclamation issued by...a Republican President.

    2. Slavery abolished under...a Republican President and a Republican Congress.

    3. Japanese interned under a Repub...no, wait...sorry, that was a Democrat.

    4. (Percentage wise), more Republicans voted for the Civil Rights Act than Democrats. They must've had some ulterior racist motive of which only they were aware.

    5. Affirmative Action implemented under a Republican President (Nixon).

    6. First black Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, as well as first black Secretary of State, under a Republican President.

    7. First black woman named as Secretary of State...under a Republican President.

    8. Still, lots and lots of KKK members in Congress are part of the Republican Party. No...my mistake again - Byrd is the only one I found (and he's a Democrat).

    9. Republicans oppose the school choice and vouchers that the...majority of blacks support. Oops, my mistake again - Republicans support them while Democrats oppose them.

    10. Well, at least the majority of blacks are pro-choice, right? Nope, most are...pro-life.

    11. Well, at least most support gay marriage. Sorry, my mistake again. Once more, Republicans are more in line with majority black views than Democrats.

    12. Republicans throw Oreo cookies at...black people running for Congress. Darn, that's the Dems, too.

    13. Republicans enacted the Jim Crow laws. Nope, wrong again.

    14. Republicans are racist because the Democrats say we are. That's about as close as I can get.

Outfctrl, you do understand that back when most of those things were put into play by the Rep. they were the liberals, right?

I stopped reading here. Are you implying that you would have read on if Conservative was replaced by Liberal.  Just curious, because I would have stopped since that is an oxymoron.I'd think it'd go either way. Applying logic and pragmatism or sentimental thoughts/conclusions as being a part of two hyperbolized viewpoints is an oxymoron in the purest. Both cannot be practical if both are working against each other.

    Posted by Draenor:

And by progress, you mean that the government should tax you to the hilt, then give the money to people who did nothing to earn it, and that people should be allowed to do whatever they want.

-> I don't understand what is it with the viewpoint of "poor people not doing anything to deserve money" when the rich man can do a lot of nasty stuff LEGALLY to make the poor man's life a living hell. This is not a conservative viewpoint. I don't understand how people think so, and how Draenor and Outfctrl use it as a conservative viewpoint. It's not conservative, it's a sadistic and hedonistic viewpoint... Any sentiment attached to these words aside. To disregard poor people, a huge group of people, because "none of them do anything", is a gross overstatement and a HUMONGOUS categorization. Every individual is an individual and should be observed as an individual, not as someone to be looked down upon and hurled faeces at. I would think the conservative viewpoint on this is that the economy should be grown at all costs, thus improving living standards and improving the opportunities for poor people to live decent lives.

Currently neither of the viewpoints, "liberal" or "conservative" exist in practice, so to hyperbolize poor people as worthless slobs or rich people as sadistic hedonists is downright wrong In a perfect "conservative" world, everyone has a differentiating chance to make it  depending on who brought you  up and where, and everyone can survive if they are able to work, but the ones that have been previously succesful are undoubtedly in control. In a perfect "liberal" world everyone has a chance on all fronts, it's just that the benefits do not scale as well as the conservative benefits and that you can survive by just existing and not working. As I said, neither exists today, and neither has ever existed in a pure form. To claim to know which is better is a guessing man's game.

You seriously missed the point that liberalism is generally a mindset that desires higher taxes in order for the government to decide what to do with it and who to give it to, while conservatism favors people keeping their money and letting them be charitable as they see fit.  These will almost always tie in with democrat vs republican mindsets of course, but I don't think that really needs to be explained.

I never hyperbolized poor people as worthless slobs or rich people as sadistic hedonists, you got off on a tangent where you just started saying things that you believe in, whether or not it was even implied in my post, which it wasn't.

I seriously missed a point? Damn. As I see it I just didn't mention the negative aspect of "liberalism", which is in this case left-wing politics. I guess I was a bit cruel since in the hyperbole part I did mention that in a "conservative"(read right wing in this case) world rich people being able to bend things their way and being able to fulfill whatever hedonistic or sadistic desires they have. Oh wait. I did mention the "liberal" world would not have as large benefits for people with lots of money as a negative aspect. I didn't mention whether it be by taxation or planned economy (it's not necessarily that goddamndiggity IRS that may lead to you getting taxed so unfairly much). Left-wing politics aims for what's good for the little man at the expense of those that are better off. Right-wing politics aim to put power in the hands of those who have power already, and to make life easier for them hopefully resulting in everyone else being better off. This is how I understand things.

Saying people do nothing to get money is a hyperbole. Everyone does something, whether it be just laying around in bed all day and eating, working your bum off doing 3 jobs just to put food on the table, or researching and investing in stocks. Even if all that the person that lies around in bed does for money is go to the social security service to pick up his monthly minimum income, he's still doing something to stay alive. In the modern world, a lot of jobs are starting to become obsolete anyways, and people are finding ways to do things with less time and effort invested. Nowadays, and increasingly in the future, not everyone is even able to get a job. I personally respect an unemployed person who is searching for jobs constantly over someone working as a telemarketer. That unemployed person could have been classified by you as someone that does nothing to get money.

Actually I would love for you to explain, Xexima...you seem to be so enlightened about everything, yet you never explain anything about your viewpoints.  So please, humor me.  Why is Outfcntrl clueless?  It's simply amazing to me that you at 16, could be so infinitely more wise than a man who is at least three times your age.

Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.

People who run everything can't complain that they're underdogs. To whit there was a highly-attended conference in Washington called "The War on Christians." Because nothing quite says "I'm oppressed," like the opulent Regency Ballroom of the Omni Shoreham Hotel.

Ah, yes, whatever happened to that plucky little cult, Christianity? Oh, that's right, they're 80% of the American people, and have taken over all three branches of government, country music, public schools, the bestseller list, and until recently, Katie Holmes. You know, Christians, I don't mind that you're part of a dress-up cult that hates sex and worships magic but the paranoia, that does scare me.

Did you know that the Missouri legislature recently felt the need to propose a resolution declaring Christianity Missouri's majority religion. No kidding. Really, you mean people aren't saying, "Gosh, I'd like to go to Missouri, but...to Jewish." In Savannah, recently, a children's book about a baby penguin who is raised by two male penguins - ahh! - was removed from the library for its homosexual overtones. Because you know penguins, in those tuxedos, with the dreamy eyes. Huge fags!

The Christian right are now officially the party of paranoia. Secularists are attacking Christmas! Gays are attacking marriage! Liberals are attacking values! White girls are being abducted at an alarming rate! You know, if you're going to be that paranoid all the time, just get high.

And the worst part is, the people bitching loudest about being persecuted for their Christianity aren't Christians at all. They're demagogues and conmen and scolds. And the only thing they worship is power. If you believe Jesus ever had a good word for war or torture or tax cuts for the rich, or raping the earth, or refusing water to dying migrants, then you might as well believe bunnies lay painted eggs.

And Jesus  never said a word about gay marriage. He was much too busy hanging out with 12 guys. Now  I know George Bush says Jesus Christ changed his heart. But believe me, Dick Cheney changed it back. The only thing Bush has in common with Jesus is they both went into their father's business and got crucified for it.

Thomas Jefferson called the type of Christian who trumpets his own belief in the divinity of Jesus rather than the morality of Jesus "pseudo-Christians." And that's who's running our country today. And since they thrive so much on turning water into "whining"—and get off on their endless pretend persecution, this Easter season, let's give them what they want. Let's go to the zoo, get some lions, and feed them Tom DeLay.

The most important part of reading is reading between the lines.

You can believe in whatever you want.  You can be against gay marriage, fine.  You can even be against mixed marriages (as you stated), and that's fine.  Where you cross the line is when you get the government involved.  That line is a dangerous line to cross because you are taking away the power of the individual and placing it in the hands of government.

If you feel this is the right thing to do then you are no better than the liberal.  You simply have used the power of government in a way that you feel is okay.  But in reality, you have done the same thing as the liberal only placed the focus of the power of government on a group that you disagree with.  This seems okay to you, because it makes the world seem like a place you agree with.  When in reality by using the government you have created an illusion of conformity due to government manipulation.  The people you perceive as acting how you want them are in all reality walking around with a seething feeling of oppression and hatred towards you and what you stand for.  How long can that last?  And at what point has the government ever stopped and said, "okay that's enough, we're done here, we can stop growing now."

Our founding fathers knew that a democracy cannot survive.  That's why they created a representative Republic based on laws in the spirit of the protection of the individual and the promise of liberty and self-determination.  That's a hard pill to swallow for a lot of people.  Especially when they see a group they disagree with and realize they could use the government to make that group act more like they want them to act.  Which it seems always falls into the category of forcing someone to act just like you

Doesn't that personal characteristic that you possess ever make you stand back, look at yourself, and wonder who you really are inside?

Well, that's racist in a true objective view point, you might not think of it being racist since your perception is skewered with prejudice.

Probaly you've been brought up by parents trying to mold their beliefs into you instead of giving you the knowledge to help form an objective way of thinking instead of having your hatred dictate your thoughts - That's dangerous and child abuse imo.

You can not choose your ethnicity and who you fall in love with, people who demonize people based on their ethnicity like you do in a sense given your statement that you "don't believe in mixed marriages" are at fault.

There's nothing that's substantial enough behind a belief like that which not makes it prejudice, it's simply a belief governed by hate and pure ignorance.

So given how you seem to have a logical and justified thought about your beliefs it would be fairly intresting in how you base that belief of yours, I bet it's close to some twisted neo-nazi ideology - To preserve the "arian race".

    Info please.

    5. Affirmative Action implemented under a Republican President (Nixon).

Try Kennedy.  Executive order 10925 established in 1961 and the civil rights act in 1964.

    6. First black Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, as well as first black Secretary of State, under a Republican President.

I'll take your word for it.

    7. First black woman named as Secretary of State...under a Republican President.

I'll take your word for it.

    8. Still, lots and lots of KKK members in Congress are part of the Republican Party. No...my mistake again - Byrd is the only one I found (and he's a Democrat).

"I know now I was wrong. Intolerance had no place in America. I apologized a thousand times . . . and I don't mind apologizing over and over again. I can't erase what happened." - Byrd

    9. Republicans oppose the school choice and vouchers that the...majority of blacks support. Oops, my mistake again - Republicans support them while Democrats oppose them.

Government funding for private schools?  Sounds A LOT like the socialist views held by the democrats.

    10. Well, at least the majority of blacks are pro-choice, right? Nope, most are...pro-life.

    True.
Then again, I'm not a Democrat.

    12. Republicans throw Oreo cookies at...black people running for Congress. Darn, that's the Dems, too.

You're talking about Michael s steele.  The one where a black democrat through an oreo at him because he was running for republican office?  Yeah, that one. Context dude...

    13. Republicans enacted the Jim Crow laws. Nope, wrong again.

Conservative southern democrats. Yeah, that's right CONSERVATIVE.  At the time Republicans were liberals.

    14. Republicans are racist because the Democrats say we are. That's about as close as I can get.

"I have also been called racist, because I dont believe in mixed marriages.  I have also been accused of being anti Gay, because I dont belive in Gay Marriages."

To show you why you have just about every one of those wrong I would have give you an entire damn history lesson starting at the beginning of the United States.  It has mostly to do with the change in the political spectrum throughout the years.  Lets take the word "conservative" for instance.  The southern democrats who enacted the Jim Crowe laws, were part of the KKK (an extremist CONSERVATIVE Democratic group formed to keep blacks from voting after the abolition of slavery), and held slaves, were all CONSERVATIVES.

The political spectrum has changed. During the late 18th century to the beginning of the 19th is when a lot of the changes happened.  The democrats nowadays are NOT the same as the Democrats 100 years ago, and the same for Republicans.  Hell, they hold just about none of the same views.

I may put more later, but i don't feel like it at the moment.

I have to agree. Imagine if the government decided that bikers were destroying the moral fabric of America and tried to ban motorbikes.

Beautifully written rant from Pyrite btw (whether I agree or not).

You should check out the Daily Show and Colbert Report on Comedy Central, if you have a sense of humor of course.I'm one of the funniest people that I know, and neither of those shows are funny...I don't even understand how a democrat could like them, Colbert is nothing but the same stupid sarcasm over and over, and Stewart's funniest moments are when he just stares blankly at the camera.  Don't you guys get tired of the same jokes over and over?

If you have such a great sense of humor why couldn't you take the joke I said earlier in this post.  Really man chill out you may hate those shows and anyone who disagrees with you, but let the people that love those shows enjoy them in peace.  I hate enough people already without you not knowing how to take a joke

It's simply amazing to me that you can defend someone who says to use the government to manipulate others behaviors.  Especially when they write something like this...

How much longer until outfctrl feels he disagrees with you and turns to his government to make you act more like himself?

It's simply amazing to me that you are offended by my request for someone to back up something that they have said.

I don't agree with outfcntrl about mixed marriages, because I don't believe that any race is inherently inferior or superior, and he probably doesn't either,  But there is something to be said for the culture clash involved.  While I am not inclined to just ignore that by not marriages between the human "races"  it isn't something that I think is without merit.  What I find odd is that in your post you said you were fine with him saying all of that, but then you chose to pinpoint something that I said and attempt to discredit me in some way by pointing out something that the person said with whom I was in agreement.  Yet in your prior post you said you didn't care what he thought about that.  That's pretty classy.

Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.

I love when people put words in my mouth.  Yes, I hate anyone who disagrees with me...that's good.

If I hated anyone who disagreed with me, do you think that I would remain civil on these boards despite the hostility brought on by some people on these forums?

I'm sorry that you hate people so much, that's very unfortunate...and even though it is taxing on my patience to debate people on this forum constantly and be the sole provider of evidence for my claims because everyone else seems to think that their beliefs are inherent to logical thought processes, I do still prefer to see the good in people, and I do prefer to think that there is hope for people, no matter what kind of darkness they are living in.

Way to cover you hate with big words.  I'm joking, I'm always joking in everything I say.  All I'm doing is pushing your buttons to see if you'll react and you did so you gave me the exact reaction I wanted.  Besides it's not "hate" it's just a general shallowness, usually when I give a person a chance to talk they prove to likeable.  Well seeing as I got you that angry I'll go ahead and apologise for making fun you

    I'm sorry Drae.......

    1. Emancipation Proclamation issued by...a Republican President.

One that also was planing on aborting all of the blacks back to Africa.  Lincoln was an extreme racist. He was also a liberal, along with every other republican at the time.

    2. Slavery abolished under...a Republican President and a Republican Congress.

One that also was planing on aborting all of the blacks back to Africa.  Lincoln was an extreme racist. He was also a liberal, along with every other republican at the time.

    3. Japanese interned under a Repub...no, wait...sorry, that was a Democrat.

    True.

    4. (Percentage wise), more Republicans voted for the Civil Rights Act than Democrats. They must've had some ulterior racist motive of which only they were aware.

    11. Well, at least most support gay marriage. Sorry, my mistake again. Once more, Republicans are more in line with majority black views than Democrats.

    *Disclaimer* Not Gay.

Hi Xexima, oh wait.  I didn't ask for you to repeat what Xexima had already said "history lesson"  If you want me to put my foot in my mouth, how about you give specifics instead of just saying "I would need to give you a history lesson"  That's nothing more than a cop out when you have nothing better to say.  I understand your desire to defend your brother, but you have done nothing but repeat what he has already said.  So instead of paroting him, how about you tell him to get on the computer and put some facts behind his assertion.

    I'm waiting.
