-NOTHING new here (play only for LOTR world)... LOTR "themepark"
There is WAY too much hype for this game. Why? Just put any other MMORPG in a LOTR setting and you have this game. If you want to play just because it is LOTR, then play. If you are looking for something very fun, meaningful, and new... then pass.
What everyone has to remember is the game is basic right now but that is good because there is room to improve. I am pretty sure they will add new classes in an expansion, more abilities, new areas. Whats the point of having a game full of everything and with no room to expand. To me that would be kind of boring, I always look forward to new content and expansions, its what makes it worthwhile playing, something new and exciting to look forward to. If you didnt have something to look forward to what would really be the point. I am not saying make it so basic that its pointless to play but every MMORPG need to leave some room to expand. I think turbine did this one right.
I can Honstly say , that people have yet to try the GAMe when they say it is to easy. Every major Elite boss I had to ask for a group , and sometimes we stilled died. Great Barrows, very hard even with a grouped minstril. broken Alliance , died in 4 man group of all +15's
There are those little quest that give you a break from the harder ones , but to base the game on those easy quests without trying the real meat of the game is not really a objective view.
Lone Lands i'm dieing left and right solo at lvl 18as well as a level 18 duo kinshiper. Please if you haven't got to at least the Great Barrows or even the Bone Man , stop saying it is easy lol cause you're making me feel like I suck at the game
-The game is as difficult as you want it to be. Want more challenge? Take on higher level quests. If you want the game to hold your hand, it will. If you choose not to let it, it won't.
-Beautiful graphics that run on medium systems.
-Vast amounts of content.
-solo-friendly
-casual friendly
-Getting a group together is pretty easy, and if the group sucks, well you can return to solo play. If you're the type of person who prefers forced grouping because you lack the social abilities to form a freely chosen group then this game is not for you.
-great incentives to explore--trait rewards, hidden quests, lore easter eggs.
-very accessible at lower levels to those new to MMOs
-Epic quests.
-skills gained at just about every level. The active skills are all different, not simply re-iterations of lower level spells that some games try to pass off as 'level rewards.'
-Highly polished. Within weeks after launch, I'm sure they will be releasing new content to paying customers (ie, you won't be paying to beta test this game).
-hand-crafted world that has charm and character
-lively NPCs
-interesting storyling (for those who like to read)
-great community
-Monster play is pretty darn fun
-pretty good lore adherence. Not perfect, but pretty good.
-very few meaningless timesinks.
-a nice balance of open world and instancing (about 80/20 %)
-best archer class I've played since Oblivion
-founder's program let's you join for a subscription of $9.99 a month or $199.00 lifetime membership.
Cons:
-unfortunately the hand-crafted nature of the world means its a bit small for some people. But quality over quantity wins out here. And once all of Middle Earth is created, it will be huge--probably larger than most MMOs on the market.
-if you like to grind for your levels, then it's not so good for that.
-often there are so many quests that I out-level them and have to cancel them.
-wish they had a 'sidekicking' feature
-it's pretty addicting, so one might find themselves flying through the content. Suggest taking your time.
-character customization better than WoW, but less than SWG. Is that a con? I guess if you're one of those wish-fullfillment players who wants to create a replica of yourself online, then it's a con.

Games I'm watching: Infinity: The Quest for Earth, Force of Arms.
I've found another "con" so to speak. People are talking about this game not being a gring-fest as many other games.
Guess that is true to some extent...
But once you create a new character it sure feels like a grind. Same quests all over again no matter what type of class you pick.
Guess the best choice is to make the character you really like from the start so you don't have to make the same thing all over again.
Sure, this applies to most games out there. But in here there's no real choice NOT to do those quests as grind-leveling aint a real option if you want to level up properly.
Then again, that's also a "pro". I do like the fact that you get a good amount of experience from completing quests. That's not very common in mmog's these days it seem.
At least I got a huge surprise when I was given a rather hefty sum of points for completing a quest instead of the usual; "Here ya go! A nice trinket and some coins. Off with ya!"
