Yes they are two different departments which are paid for by the same money. Stop being an asshat just for the sake of it.
1) My original post was an attempt to tell you my opinion. I don't need an official forum to go to. I come here for laughs and in game I just figure things out myself.
2) The paragraphs issue was an attempt to make you write in paragraphs which is the proper way of writing if you want to get your point across instead of looking like a kid.
3) Don't get your panties in a twist over every reply to your threads.
1) No, it was exactly like I said., and I am not the one being an “asshat”. I know you feel superior to others that play this game, as evidenced by that last little gem in you post ("in game I just figure things out myself.") . You’re just being upset because someone’s views differ from your own. Your posts do for the most part contain these little jabs at people that don’t share your views that vanguard can do no wrong.
2) I don’t really care what you think i should do Thanks. No one asked you to be grammar police, and your just trying to derail the thread. Maybe its habit.
3) i don’t, you came out the box with the insults. My post did not contain anything inflammatory, however I did call you on your attempt to marginalize, And you got mad.
4) I wear boxers
Now, if you would like to add to the tread again, i would love to hear why you don’t feel we need/should have/deserve official forums?
How is it that by silting the community up, it helps build it?
How is having all participants in one forum, supported by our subscription money, and thus, not falling victim to under funded fan site downtimes... a bad thing?
or anything you would like to add.

Well, it would be quite different for MMORPGS if developers follow suit from now on and all the games that come out won't have a official forum. It would certainly reduce cost for the business... if that's the case, Sigil truely revolutionize the industry.

Honestly, who cares if it's from the same money? Is putting up and running a forum more costing than 150-200 subscriptions a month? (you guys make it sound like that is nothing for the huge VG community, or is it now? Would it take unusually high skill to create a forum? Would it stop devs from patching up the game?
NO!
Since none of the above apply, even asking the hypothetical question of what we rather have patches or forum is nonsense, since all it takes to make a forum is a WILL to do it. For the money a costumer deserves a full product, in this case a functioning finished game, and a working official forum, not excuses. Out of the two they have none.
Don't go around calling people who disagree with you kids, because that doesn't lead one step closer to a mature conversation.
They don't need an official forums beyond what they already have.
They have the tech support forum, and the announcements forum. Anything else you need you can get from one of the many affiliate sites.
Have a diplomacy problem/question? Go to the diplomacy affiliate.
Have a bard question? Go to the bard affiliate.
Wondering about interfaces? Go to the interface affiliate.
I don't see what's so hard about all this. I mean, most sites these days also have a neat little function called "Search". Hell you could even type your problems into google or something.
I mean, you don't expect to be spoonfed do you?

I have hope that you were being sarcastic. I play an online game, and that’s the only game I wish to play. "Hunt the net for info" is not what I pay my sub for, and is not part of the game, and they are not doing me a favor by forcing me to play that game.

So now what? I guess ill search the 19 other sites all day for one bit of info.
I think it’s somewhat sad that we do not have official forums, hosted by the company that made the game, and bandwidth paid for by the money we pay them.
Instead, we have 20 or so fan sites with conflicting information (Click link in sig) and the bandwidth bill goes to those poor community members that run the fan sites.
With 100k+ people playing this game... How did they expect FANS to be able to host things in a reliable manner?
Basically, they have dumped the responsibility and cost onto its fans. ? Discuss...
(BTW, im enjoying the game, i hate this policy)
Guild Wars fans manage to do it quite well. Guild Wars wiki is a great resource and the sites like Guild Wars Guru have active forums that Anet representitives participate in when needed. I have seen Gaile Gray get and reply to bug posts on that site in a matter of hours when Nightfall first came out and have a response from the technical people with an estimated time for the fix the following day. They even did their own auction system on GW Guru.
I thought Vanguard was for smart people or something? Or is that patient people? Or people with a lot of time on their hands? Anyway and one of those three should be useful in such an endeavor.

That IS a joke, right?
Half of the affiliate sites are almost empty, and half of the dev posts all go to ONE affiliate site (SV) or to the FOH board, which I don't een think is an affiliate site.
And there is a lot that I have not been able to get from the affiliate sites.

Auto Assault has an official forum mantained by NCSoft, but Vanguard has none. I dunno what that means, but it is kinda funny.

1) Guild wars is free.
2) Guild wars has no "Community" to speak of, its just Diablo...
3) In game, it also has no community supporting features.
I’m not saying that they shouldn’t have official forums, but Guild wars is not technically a MMO (as said/told BY THE DEVLOPERS), and has no real need for forums...as the game play is simplistic for a game in this genre (on the whole, its pick skill, kill stuff.. kill stuff with others.. ETC.. Not that I dislike guild wars, but it has disposable game play, and community).
Its just simply a different category of game, and also has no fee.
