Just not comparable, two very different types of games. Largest difference is that DF will be skill based and WoW is level based. DF will be more hardcore and WoW is pretty casual. I could go on for days. Nontheless, they're not comparable.

Looking at the features, I don't think darkfall is only for the hardcore player. But you can sit down for an hours, leave with a good feeling in your stomac, diffrently to wow, you sit down for 6 hours, get the item you want and feel like shit when you log off.
The features are definatley better, the game might turn out to be diffrent - atleast aventurine and razorwax has balls to create a original game.
It seems there has been a revival of classic style after the exp grind/raid-only endgame/PvE-only style of WoW. I for one am incredibly excited about it, mostly because I was not involved in MMORPG's in time to be a part of UO or EQ when they came out. This game and Vanguard will be great opportunities to let a younger generation enjoy what made those games so popular over the last 9 years. I cannot wait to get in on the ground floor of a truly sandbox world with real consequences and real excitement.

Im a big WoW hater after playing it for a too long time. If DFO can live up to a small bit of what they promise it will be alot better in my opinion, mainly because of the PvP system and leveling system aswell as the promising housing system.
I doubt many WoW-fans will even know about darkfall and I hope most people that love WoW PvP system never even try Darkfall and if they do they will get a hell of a beating and quit:)
WoW is better because you can actually play it. Wait till Darkfall is playable before you compare games.
I could barely play WoW ... it was so hard not to gouge out my eyes with a spoon while i did get the chance. Then i gave up the stupidity of the community and overall stupidity of the game made it unplayable.

Trust me, I'd like to play this game, it seems to be very promising. But I also have to be realistic as well. Before even saying this game is going to be better than anything out there today, why don't you first wait until you play it first hand? comparing it to WoW, an already well established game without even having played Darkfall only shows your ignorance.

More and more threads are made about Vanguard's failings, and how it was awful that they released it so early and so unfinished blah blah blah! The same thing they are saying about War and AoC. But only when it comes out will these games be put to the real test.
Why am I here posting? So that you're aware of how you're sounding and make sure you make sound decisions. What will you do if this game ends up being another Dark and Light? I remember that game also being incredibly over-hyped. The developers ALSO promised players the moon and the stars and look at what happened. I myself want to save myself the grief. I never played Dark and Light, and thank goodness I never did, I saved myself the incredible headaches the players of that game go through now. Be careful of what you say, don't fall prey so easily just because of the lip service the developers and their PR agents are doing. That's their job!

8 hours? WoW's raids don't take longer then max 2 hours.
2 hours? lol, not 8 hours, but certainly not 2 hours either...not when you're in a hardcore guild that has to make progress into new instances...and if you add the time spent for grinding money, to afford repairs and consumables, maybe yes, 8 hours a day or even more
(some hardcore guilds buy gold from gold selling sites, so no grinding for them, but still there are wiping hours on new bosses)
i really hope for a mmorpg in developement that will be a WoW killer; i for one, will try LotRO as it is the closest big mmorpg close to be released, and probably it won't be a WoW killer, but at least it gives some new fresh air until WAR and AoC are out.

Agreed. Personally, I think MMORPG staff should be locking these "MyGame vs WoW" threads every day on every forum, and banning the people who insist on making them. It's getting pretty ridiculous and they all have the same stuff in them.
I laugh at the guy who claimed WoWs raids do not take longer than two hours. At the same time I laugh at the guy who created this topic. He was looking to incite flames from both parties. He was hoping the WoW bashers would chime in and flame and in turn the Darkfall bashers whould claim vaporware. Oh, looks like it worked.
Seriously, this is the worst comparison of any two MMO's that I have ever seen. It's like comparing Dark Age of Camelot to EVE Online. You can say you are excited about the (more than likely) vaporware that is Darkfall but to put it anywhere close to WoW just doesn't make any sense. WoW is 90% PvE-centric with PvP thrown in to keep people busy, whereas Darkfall is 90% PvP with very severe penalties for dying i.e. losing pretty much all of your gear. If you are going to compare a game to Darkfall, it might as well be DAoC because WoW has virtually nothing in common with Darkfall.
You cant compare a game that has been release to a game that is still in development. And you cant compare two games that have different gameplay and mechanics. These games are almost nothing alike.

Even if I complain at WoW.....all of their players have been having fun for years...and they even had BC......and we have nothing....

These are completely different games. Don't really like the idea of comparing WoW to a game that hasn't even reached the market yet.
But i reallt think that on paper Darkfall seems really unique. Personally i cant wait to try Darkfall out (if it will come out) :P
Think that Darkfall will require more skill and tactical thinking. But some people don't like the idea of open pvp with full loot.

On paper Darkfall looks great. Who knows if it will ever be released, or if it will be as good as it is on paper?

WoW is better than Darkfall, because it is released.
I want Darkfall to be great, but I am not counting on it seeing the light of day this year.
