account is cancelled, the door wont hit me on the way out
1 month and its still running like an enourmous piece of junk, and i beta'd LotR Online, and those graphics are WAY better then vanguards graphics, and its runs flawlessly on high settings on my pc, while vanguard runs CRAP on low settings, and makes it look like daoc 6 years ago.
i might come back in 6-8 months, but by then its WAR time so ill doubt ill ever touch it again

For the money they spent on LOTR(and MEO) its very pathetic, lack of content and it fails to live up to the great name in every catagory except graphics. If you want a pretty game without much depth, sure spend your money.

I cancelled my wow account 3 times actually, eq2 twice, coh/cov twice. EnB was just shutdown, Eve-online once. The only mmo that has held my attention longer than vanguard actually has so far was eve online. Eve online is still a good game, it may have some scandel issues at the moment but the game itself is still one of the better mmos to hit the market as far as gameplay is concerned.
I have cancelled my account as well. Reasons are many. Some of them are unbearable lags in crowded areas, subpar graphics (mind you: lots of polygons do not lead to visual appealing graphics necessarily), poor character creation customization (why do male dwarfs look like kids?!), just to name a few.
But mostly I am disappointed, honestly. Brad McQuaid promised to deliver a "3rd generation" MMORPG. But when it comes to advanturing its still the same old Diablo system: Leveling up by killing stuff. And long-time leveling combined with death penalties doesn't make a game "hard" or not ez-mode. I remember far more complicated situations in some of the missions in Guild Wars. Missions which required more tactics, timing and skill in order to complete. The monster AI in VG is really a bad joke. Ryzom (though it has its very own problems as well) has far more innovative approaches (custom spell modelling, clever AI, crafting) than VG.
Clearly, VG might become an evolutionary step after WoW one day. But I wouldn't call it a 3rd generation MMORPG.
And it is interesting that WAR seems to be the new "Next Great MMO!" I hope it lives up to your expectations. However, if history is any indicator......

who says that you guys arent the ones that need to come to your senses? everyone comes to their own decisions and they dont have to agree with one side or another.
I canceled as well. I have a high end system and wrestled with CTD's and texture issues for weeks after the second post release patch. On top of that there are clearly many aspects of the game that just are not finished. It was not ready for release and they have pretty much confessed this as well.
Beyond that I am not going to bash the game or say xyz game is better. Vanguard still holds some promise and direction that I truly hope they succeed in. It has many fine qualities and lots of built in depth, they just need to polish it all up a great deal and I think it will be a much better game several months down the road.
Enjoy whatever game you all play, there are plenty of virtual worlds to go around.

Your whole post is completely void of any proper grammer at all ! ! You started a sentence with a number for petes sake! You ran together what should have been three or four sentenences into one long butchering of the english language.
I can tell you are no older than fifteen years old. I can tell that Vanguard was too hard for you. That is fine by me. It isn't meant to appeal to teenagers and rookie online gamers so I am not surprised you won't be playing Vanguard.. Based on your gramer, I am not disapointed either. I seriously doubt you bothered to try much of the game besides the adventure side. I seriously doubt you plugged into the community much. You were probably in some little kiddie guild..if in a guild at all. You probably were looking for groups all the time because you couldn't solo anything. You couldn't solo anything because you are too immature and impatient to learn how to play your character well or take the time to study the mob enough to know it's weakness.
When addressing the public, it is encourage that you take the time to at least TRY to use SOME proper grammer. If you have any intention of being taken seriously by anyone old enough to buy a beer. Go back to you max level Hunter in WoW. Maybe you should try Lotr...I hear the smoke pipes in that game. You could pretend you are smoking pot...tee hee...that would be cool. You could pretend you are all grown up.

Says the person who can not have someone give a different viewpoint of a game with out turning it into a flamefest of insults to try and prove their point. That was what, popular in your early teens also? The guy/Gal never commented on the state of the game other then the engine and its performance and that he/she felt it was not up to standards for a game that is in release state.
hmm, I agree with him. This game was not ready to go live just like 99% of Sony/Sigil's past games. And you said that his/her post was bad? Re-read what you wrote. I am glad you like Vanguard, but jeez man, lay off the insults when someone posts a different opinion about it because it makes you look like a WoW player.

Also just because if you do have a high end system does not mean that you are immuned to CTD's. sometimes just having a top of the line system isn't anyhelp if you don't take care of it with atleast standard maintenance practices. Then you also have the software itself which will cause issues,

1) That " Killer Rig " that grandma bought them six months ago....isn't so " killer " anymore. Welcome to computer gaming. You have to upgraded every 3-6 months to keep " killer rig " status. It's been that way now ...for what....20 years ? give or take
2) Vanguard was too hard. Ya..it has it's bugs. I've seen many a gamer endure numerous, nearly game stoping bugs for a game they felt successful at..and henced ..liked. That is just an excuse for most folks. They can't admit they got spanked down by a REAL mmo. One that takes talent , time and dedication to play. They are victims of the console generations and WoW syndrom. I get mad because as this mentality prevails, more and more gaming companies will cater to it.. Soon...all we will have to play are WoW clones and a few niche market good games barely making it.

I don't upgrade myelf every 3 to 6 months. I pretty much keep to the moore's law. About every 18 months or so i will usually upgrade. I just upgraded about 2 weeks ago now so i know my system is high end at the moment and i have no issues performance wise with vg just a few minor annoying bugs that will be fixed in time.

Dude, what planet are you living on? This game is getting is ass handed to it for TECHNICAL reasons. No matter where you look, its all the same, it was released to soon.

Maybe someday it will be a good MMO, we are going to have to wait and see. In the meantime its only natural people will not want to play an unfinished game, not upgrade their computers to play a game averaging 7.3 in reviews, and to be upset that they did throw 50 bucks out the window on a game thats not working the way it should be.

majority the reasons vg is averaging 7.3 in reviews is due to bugs and performance issues, will the performance issues have to do with needing to upgrade their systems, no review i have read that listed the test specs ran on a machine that i'd consider above average. VG take a well above average cpu to run well this is why vg will not grow subs in any kind of record pace because people's hardware just has to catch up. AOC will be the same way. War will not just because they seem to be using wow like textures.

I posted a mature post and gave some valid reasons. Would you rather me say "VG sucks" and leave? I actually liked the game and enjoyed playing it, I never found it to be hard as long as you don't like to be spoon fed. I just can't continue to pay for something that doesn't work properly, I can't get support for, and isn't a finished product. I could look beyond one or two of these reasons for a little while, but right now it doesn't make sense for me.
If this is your typical responses to the type of post I made then you are hurting yourself and your own community. Look at this thread from an outsiders eyes, its very ugly and many of the VG fans are taking the low road on this.
